Well here's my computer desk in my bedroom. I just cleaned it and decided to take a few pics of it since it wont be this clean for long![]()
I also have 2 more notebooks not in the pics, a Sony Vaio CW and a school-issued Lenovo T420.

you gotta love how much effort people put into placement of items and the items they choose to show.

I came into the thread and saw the pink anime shrine and Vogelbung had posted it, it was too much of a shock for me to notice it was a quote at first.
I was like, wow I really didn't place him having a room like that, but I guess its cool...
iPhantomhives would fit right in with me and my friends, we are all anime geeks. -
Could we please stop re-posting the image...
There is anime and then there is this. This is a little perverted imho. -

Laptop powering the monitors = In my sig
Additional Laptop = Alienware M11X R2
Monitors = 23" 1080p
Headset = Steelseries Siberia V2
Mouse = Razer Naga
Keyboard = Razer Lycosa Mirror
Game in picture = Star Wars: The Old Republic
Still have some stuff to do, like get speakers! Playing everything through my headset. Having trouble finding speakers that can work with my space. The only real place to put them is either in front of my monitors which would screw up my view or below them which would mean they'd have to be small. If anyone has any ideas that would be greatHappy gaming friends!

New desk + Holesaw + new desktop case = Wires be gone.
-

-
Seriously now, do you really need three laptops? O_O -
-
LOL yeah touchpad running ice cream sandwich! w00t!
I also got tired of sandboxing in VM so i picked up another lappy for testing stuff out. -
-
Here's my home office. I do computer consulting and repair. In the rack I have my 3 TB File server which is hooked to the top monitor. Next to the rack I have a Dell server runing esxi5 and hosting a few vm's including my PDC and Exchnage. The 3 24" monitors are on my main system that is under the desk. I built the desk when I bought the house. There is another one an the other side of the office for my wife. I put it 2 inches higher than a normal desk so I could be a little more comfortable when standing.
P.S. if your looking for a great computer desk chair, that ergo human is awesome.Attached Files:

Here's my new desk at work. And just in case anyone is wondering - Potbelly's oatmeal chocolate chip cookies dipped in nutella are awesome!!
-
P.S. My wife loves nutella too. I never heard of it til we met. -
-
here, I love neat desks! I don't allow for any object to stay any more than 24 hours, especially coke cans!
sorry for the iphone cam quality but currently have no "real" cam
-
Cooling is actually the same or maybe even better than my previous antec case. Cool air goes in the front and hot air goes out the back, which gets ducted away from the case. -

I like clean and simple thats why I move from desktop to laptops.
-
Moved some stuff around. Now I can use the TV more easily.

Hoping to finish the office tonight and plan on cleaning my desk at work to rearrange for some new servers. SO hopefully Ill have some pics to contribute again.
Here is a quick upload of my in class setup
I dont get paid that well, but I cant complain with the economy we are in as I still have a roof over my familys head and food in our bellies. As for work I support all things from windows xp to server 2003 and 7 as well as debian linux for some of our servers. Cake job with tons of freedom.
@fantomasz: I wish I could get away with a nice simple clean setup like that. Sadly I cannot as I have 2 desktop servers and a folding/server laptop(x200s) as well as my precision when Im working in the office. As for work I have 1 desktop server and my m4400 server as well as the m4600 so its pretty crowded and I have the smallest desk at work too.
Either way I envy your setup and its cleniness and simplicity. -
Oh and another thing, I think a decent desktop system can look just as clean as a laptop on a table. -

built me a new desk so i thought id update. old desk is on page 256. I ordered a second gtx 560ti and a 3rd monitor for nvidia surround so i figured i could use a new desk. designed it up in 3ds max using an entire page of reference measurements so that it was ergonomic. total cost is $40. it measures 6'6" by 3'6" and its 28" tall. made from one sheet of luaun plywood and 2 2by4s solid as a rock and doesnt flex at all. plan on getting ergotron mx arms for all 3 monitors sometime next month and going to be adding side panels that go all the way to floor with shelving later. the desk lamp underneath is just there till i get my led lighting for underneath made up. all the cables will be run underneath top so all that will show is the power stip cable.paper plates are because the stain wasnt dry all the way on legs.
-
^^^
I've noticed you own the same lamp as I do >.>
Nice build btw -
I've used the same technique tbh. -
Thats a pretty nice looking desk, looks a good bit strong as well. I'm assuming the plywood on top is 3/4", if it was smaller I think you would get more flex. I build my own desks as well, not sure if you've seen them in this thread or others. Though I'm usually to lazy/busy to stain/paint them so I just sand them up nice and use them as bare wood.
-
ya the top is 3/4". i wasnt gonna stain it because i was building it cheap but i found a can in garage and i figured wth. its actually pretty light for how solid it is. Im working on a 12' workbench now with a diy wacom cintiq in the surface for sketching ideas while i work. already got an old countertop i can use so not sure if ima buy some more of this plywood for the top of it or not.
-
IMO, what matters is not how much deskspace is taken up, but how much *usable* deskspace is taken up. When using a laptop on a desk, the space between the laptop and the wall isn't very useful. -
