    Well here's my computer desk in my bedroom. I just cleaned it and decided to take a few pics of it since it wont be this clean for long :)
    I also have 2 more notebooks not in the pics, a Sony Vaio CW and a school-issued Lenovo T420.

    I came into the thread and saw the pink anime shrine and Vogelbung had posted it, it was too much of a shock for me to notice it was a quote at first.

    I was like, wow I really didn't place him having a room like that, but I guess its cool...

    iPhantomhives would fit right in with me and my friends, we are all anime geeks.

    Laptop powering the monitors = In my sig
    Additional Laptop = Alienware M11X R2
    Monitors = 23" 1080p
    Headset = Steelseries Siberia V2
    Mouse = Razer Naga
    Keyboard = Razer Lycosa Mirror
    Game in picture = Star Wars: The Old Republic

    Still have some stuff to do, like get speakers! Playing everything through my headset. Having trouble finding speakers that can work with my space. The only real place to put them is either in front of my monitors which would screw up my view or below them which would mean they'd have to be small. If anyone has any ideas that would be great :D Happy gaming friends!

    Here's my home office. I do computer consulting and repair. In the rack I have my 3 TB File server which is hooked to the top monitor. Next to the rack I have a Dell server runing esxi5 and hosting a few vm's including my PDC and Exchnage. The 3 24" monitors are on my main system that is under the desk. I built the desk when I bought the house. There is another one an the other side of the office for my wife. I put it 2 inches higher than a normal desk so I could be a little more comfortable when standing.

    P.S. if your looking for a great computer desk chair, that ergo human is awesome.

    You cant see it but theres intake vents on the bottom part of the face, where 2x 92mm fans suck in air to cool the HD's. Plus i replaced one of the 5.25" bays with an Antec Take4 vented cover.

    Cooling is actually the same or maybe even better than my previous antec case. Cool air goes in the front and hot air goes out the back, which gets ducted away from the case.

    I hope you're getting paid well at least! We do a bit of everything here at the company I work for - we handle mobile telecom for the company, I somehow became the Mac support guy, BES admin, little bit of network admin and Exchange. Hoping to finish the office tonight and plan on cleaning my desk at work to rearrange for some new servers. SO hopefully Ill have some pics to contribute again.

    Here is a quick upload of my in class setup :p

    [IMG]

    LoL Im waiting on my winning of the lottery too. :p

    I dont get paid that well, but I cant complain with the economy we are in as I still have a roof over my familys head and food in our bellies. As for work I support all things from windows xp to server 2003 and 7 as well as debian linux for some of our servers. Cake job with tons of freedom.

    @fantomasz: I wish I could get away with a nice simple clean setup like that. Sadly I cannot as I have 2 desktop servers and a folding/server laptop(x200s) as well as my precision when Im working in the office. As for work I have 1 desktop server and my m4400 server as well as the m4600 so its pretty crowded and I have the smallest desk at work too.

    Either way I envy your setup and its cleniness and simplicity. :)

    Makes perfect sence except for the small jar of pringles, aren't those just as expensive as the big ones? And even those are barely enuff to feel one tooth. (btw tip: an empty pringles jar is great to impersonate Darth Vader).

    Oh and another thing, I think a decent desktop system can look just as clean as a laptop on a table.

    A desktop would probably take up less desk space though. I know that sounds incredible but it's true, and I didn't believe it until I migrated from laptops to desktops. The desktop box itself is on the floor under the desk. The monitor has a lower pixel density than laptop screens and so it's feasible to push it all the way back against the wall, whereas we tend to put a laptop right in the middle of the desk like you did while taking your photo. Finally, while desktop keyboards are typically wider than laptop keyboards, they don't have palmrests.

    Its a classic dome like a thinkpad trackpoint that goes on the point stick on my m4600. Makes it operate almost as good as a trackpoint which is a huge plus.

    I agree. Even with a smallish LCD (21.5) and a laptop size keyboard (thinkpad keyboard) it still takes up more deskspace then a worksation laptop and thats without an external mouse.

    built me a new desk so i thought id update. old desk is on page 256. I ordered a second gtx 560ti and a 3rd monitor for nvidia surround so i figured i could use a new desk. designed it up in 3ds max using an entire page of reference measurements so that it was ergonomic. total cost is $40. it measures 6'6" by 3'6" and its 28" tall. made from one sheet of luaun plywood and 2 2by4s solid as a rock and doesnt flex at all. plan on getting ergotron mx arms for all 3 monitors sometime next month and going to be adding side panels that go all the way to floor with shelving later. the desk lamp underneath is just there till i get my led lighting for underneath made up. all the cables will be run underneath top so all that will show is the power stip cable.paper plates are because the stain wasnt dry all the way on legs.

    Thats a pretty nice looking desk, looks a good bit strong as well. I'm assuming the plywood on top is 3/4", if it was smaller I think you would get more flex. I build my own desks as well, not sure if you've seen them in this thread or others. Though I'm usually to lazy/busy to stain/paint them so I just sand them up nice and use them as bare wood.

    ya the top is 3/4". i wasnt gonna stain it because i was building it cheap but i found a can in garage and i figured wth. its actually pretty light for how solid it is. Im working on a 12' workbench now with a diy wacom cintiq in the surface for sketching ideas while i work. already got an old countertop i can use so not sure if ima buy some more of this plywood for the top of it or not.

    Here is what I meant:

    [IMG]

    IMO, what matters is not how much deskspace is taken up, but how much *usable* deskspace is taken up. When using a laptop on a desk, the space between the laptop and the wall isn't very useful.

    I see your argument and I agree if thats where you place your notebook. Personally mine is usually pushed back more, but still I reserve the area in front of both my desktop and laptops for my arms and i have other stuff to the right or the left.
