More like a gaming home. xD

What monitor is that on the left? Looks like it has a thin bezel, or is it just an optical illusion?
-
It's an Acer H236HL. It does have a thinner bezel than average, perhaps 1cm. The same panel is also used in the AOC i2367Fh, ViewSonic VX2370, HP Pavilion 23xi, LG 23EA63V-P, ASUS MX239H, Dell S2340M and probably some others.

My grandparents have that same desk for their computer. Some cheap unit made by Sauder that they bought back in 2004. The few times that I had to use their computer, I was always afraid that I would break the desk.
-
Still a work in progress. I decided to take a nap before finishing.

My current setup:
Not a terrible setup although the couch could be more comfortable.

Is the baby part of the rig? +1 for uniqueness!

Until she is old enough to solo this world yes!
But yeah nice little couch setup for those late night session where my wife needs a break.

I finally have a new camera, plus a few new additions, so this calls for a brand new post of my setup
First is my Alienware M17X R1 treadmill gaming setup, my own take on "run and gun." It features an ULTRA laptop cooler, Logitech G13 Gamepad, Thermaltake Black Element Mouse, Thermaltake Shock Headset, Dolca Hard Gaming Mouspad, and the Powerlink Hermes Ultra High Powered WIFI Antenna PL-18N. Since the last time I posted here, the M17X has been repaired and I am back to gaming, however, since my 1200p screen upgrade the AlienFX lights stopped working so I am still going to look into that. Also, that new WIFI antenna I have hooked up is a beast, I might just remove the Killer Wifi card inside my laptop and sell it since it's not going to be used anymore. Specs of the M17X R1 are in my sig.
And in case someone was wondering how it looks like underneath the table:
Next is just the regular family pc. It's nothing much, just some old HP that is just used for quick daily tasks since it's in a very convenient spot (on a small platform in between the 1st and 2nd floor off the main flight of stairs). Has the all in one fax/printer/scanner, a 1200p extra glossy screen (fingerprints lol). But the main attraction here is the Netgear Nighthawk Wifi Router - which is currently the 2nd best router on the market, second to the ASUS. I didn't get the ASUS because I would be paying for features that I would never use, and the Nighthawk just looks like a beast anyways . I just got it 2 days ago and my internet speeds are fantastic, especially with the WIFI antennas I have hooked up to my other pc's - I can't wait to try out Steam In-Home Streaming
Now my room, nothing much. Just my Acer Iconia W700 tablet in it's dock with the Logitech Tablet Keyboard and Razer Copperhead Mouse. The books on the table are from my larger collection, these in particular are from the 1800's that I'm reading, mainly works of Joseph Flavious, Russian and British literature/superstitions. Specs of the tablet are in my sig.
And here is a snap of the entertainment room, fully equipped with a Sharp 1080p 70" tv, racing cockpit, my custom gaming pc, Xbox 360 + Kinect, PS2, Bluray, VCR, Logitech Extreme 3D Pro Flightstick, Logitech G19 Keyboard + Logitech G602 Wireless gaming mouse on a custom rolling table I made, and two shelves full of controllers.
Now here are a few pics of the actual Gaming PC itself. Since the last post I have also added the Powerlink Hermes Ultra High Powered WIFI Antenna PL-18N on top - I think it makes the beast look even more
. Specs of this beast are in my sig.
Just some pics of how I usually game, with the couch pulled up, and the table with the Logitech G19 keyboard, Logitech G602 Wireless Gaming Mouse, Logitech G240 Cloth Mousepad, and a Dolca palmrest.
And here is the racing cockpit that I built myself out of plumbing pipes, plywood, wheels, and some black spray paint. I use the Logitech G25 for this setup, although I am going to upgrade to the G27 really soon for the extra buttons and the better clutch.
The underside with the wheels for those who are interested:
Lastly for good measure, here are close-ups of my Xbox 360 and PS2. The 360 has some internal LED mods, and I added 3 extra fans around the heat sink area because I do not want to deal with that red ring nonsense.... damn consoles
. The PS2 has an internal HDD that I use for game storage instead of having to deal with my HUGE PS2 collection, like I have 3 boxes full of games.
Anyways, thanks for looking :thumbsup:drebkb, killkenny1, 1ceBlu3 and 1 other person like this. -
Nice router you got there

This is my little workstation when I'm not at Uni;
All I can take when I go to Uni, (I travel a fair bit between home city and Uni city) is the XPS and my iPad.
Everything else has to stay. I miss my THX sounds =/

Little bit messy, though it shows my new speakers:
-
"Walmart special" furniture. Most of the furniture they sell is complete crap, but sometimes, you actually get something that may use ultra cheap parts, but is quite durable at the same time.
-
The table my computer is on is an antique, let's say it has taken lots of abuse
-
Hey, it's cheap, it matched the colors I wanted, and somehow it still survives.
Anyway, the closest IKEA is at least 175mi away, so Walmart will have to do. -
The closest IKEA to me is in Woodbridge, about 3 hours away. For stuff like end tables, I'll go to Walmart. Other furniture is gotten from thrift shops or Big Lots.

the whole apple family! ^^
-
Dude that is a sweet cockpit. Your whole setup is cool... but that cockpit >
-
While I don't exactly share sonyfxa's enthusiasm for My Little Pony, I have to give him credit for using the correct platform.
-
Thanks! If you want to build it yourself I followed this guide in general, and added a few more things to fit my taste: fumanchu_primus's Library | Photobucket
It's pretty cheap and very easy to do, just one full day of building if you have the right tools. -
I personally would rather build a pc with the components I want, or buy a laptop with the exact specifications that I want, and then install Mac OS on it instead of paying the ridiculous price Apple charges for their products.
-
Or just not use OS X?
Also, Brony + Furry?
Enough Internet for me today.
-
what are you using the alienware keyboard for?
-
Alienware keyboard? The only Alienware keyboard I currently use is the one on my M17X laptop, and I only use that for typing. For gaming I use the Logitech G13 gamepad instead.
-
Alienware makes keyboards? Let me guess, they are membrane ones that cost as much as mechanicals?
-
Hahaha YES.
I have one of their tactx keyboards, but only because I found one broken (lol) for 20 bucks. The macro keys are nice, and touch is okay for typing, but it sucks for gaming.
Bob -
Lol yup it's funny, the Alienware keyboards, even the mice, are actually made by Logitech but with "Alienware" branding slapped all over them. And I don't know if I made it clear enough in my previous post, but I don't own a physical Alienware keyboard.... I just have an Alienware M17X laptop (which has an Alienware keyboard built into it lol) - I only use "Real" Logitech keyboards such as the G13/G19 for gaming.
-
LOL.

I'm sort of inspired to share my own setup, now! How do you guys keep your desks so clean and not dust-infested? I have to remove everything from my desk to wipe it up and stuff...it's annoying. ;-;
-
Get a light colored desk - dust is not visible on it :-D
-
I'm going to eventually upgrade to a glass L-shaped desk. I currently have an awesome Ikea L-shaped desk that's sort of this dark-brown wood. I'll have to post pictures I guess! I was thinking of moving my desktop to the floor but I'm so paranoid about getting it on the carpet (static and stuff). Not sure if I should take it off my desk or not. :/
-
Here is my current setup, everyone. It's still a work in progress. If you have any questions, please ask away.

killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
^^^Is that ASUS Vivotab Note 8?

Do I see a set of Logitech z506 speakers in that photo?

I reorganized the cables in my room with velcro zip ties and some velcro strips:
