The AW has the most sexy chassis. My rig has a sexy paint job but not so sexy chassis design in and of itself.

I used to think Asus made good mobos until I switched to DFI.

I did not even consider looks when i made my purchase. I was much more concerned with the function. I would not sacrifice money or hardware for looks.

As a computer user that do not demand much in terms of performance, I am a slave to good looking notebooks. For example, I bought my V6V couple of weeks ago (at a bargain price of course) even though it has outdated components such as the 64MB video card. Sufficient for my needs I would say, 'cus it handles Vista and anything I throw at it.

i think the white bumpers are Dell's attempt at matching the imac "stylishness". Not a great attempt....but the shiny silver is probably more expensive 8)

Well I've got a Dell Latitude D820 and I like it a lot, nothing really flashy or anything, very slick and professional. Its also light and has really good performance as well, and unlike most laptops with this type of performance (specs in sig) it gets over 5 hours of battery life with wi-fi on. I'm super happy with my purchase and I'm glad Igot something that looks sick and performs very well

I'm a contract marketing consultant and my laptop is my life. I've tried Dell, I've tried Acer and I now use an HP/Compaq nx7010 with 1G ram and 80G onboard hard drive. I have a lot of powerpoint shows for different clients, heaps of avi files of clients television ads etc and the 15.4 screen is great for showing clients what I'm up to.
It's not sexy to look at at all but I love using it.
I look at the "sexy" ones in shops all the time but the specs never measure up to what I need. If I could find a pretty one that had the guts I'd be all over it!

Most people consider a Thinkpad ugly, but I like the matte black. All the silver laptops look the same to me. When you see a black one, you know it's a thinkpad.

I'm happier with the looks of my notebook every day. Both guys and girls have given it a "wow, what is that." I'm glad that it's black as well because it's a little more understated than the previous red ferrari model. What's great is that it also performs well and is built like a tank. I haven't had any probs with it.

I currently own 2 compaq Evo N610c notebooks, Which are friggen ugly bricks(I don't like notebooks without rounded edges).

My ASUS Z96Js is a great looking notebook, I get alot of people in public and friends/family complimenting it. Truthfully, about every day some one says something good about it.

My favorite looking notebook that I've had, was the one I had last year. An HP nc6230 I think it was. It looked sleek small, was very light, but lacked in what I wanted from it. A 64mb X600 can't play new games very well due to the very low memory, so I sold it.

By the way, does anyone know what kind of spray paint to use to paint my
ASUS's lid? I was going to go for an extremely glossy black, And the palmrest to be very dark glossy red

People think my laptop is ugly but i think it looks fine. Its not the best but I didnt buy it for its looks, I bought it for performance.

I put pics up here (scroll down a bit) and it has a very understated look and serious look. Its not flashy but i still like it. It has grown on me since i bought it but i voted the fouth option in the poll, looks dont bother me!

i don't think its ugly i mean its not flashy and glossy but i have seen tons of uglier notebooks :p its just a classic loook

i bought my notebook for looks and performance when i spend 1200+ dollars i want a mix of both not just 1. i mean its like when you buy a car do you buy a car just for performance or do you want it to look good too? obviousl with a car its a little different because everyone sees your car day to day but still kind of same idea you want a mix of both :)

Sorry, I just found this thread, and I had to say, I like your sig. Tool lyrics! (Lie, Cheat, Steal)

SORRY- wayy off topic. Heck, my laptop is a few years old, but I still love it! I don't play super-high end games while on the road, so it is perfect for CS:S, BF1942, UT, Baulders Gate II, etc. I play my BF2, CoD2, F.E.A.R., and others on my desktop.

blacks/greys are just too common now it seems, go into lecture halls, and most are just plain.. i like sexy white laptops with a nice finish
tho a lot of it has to do with design , and the shape of it

maybe if your laptop is so good performance-wise people would overlook the looks of the laptop itself haha...its like how some cars are not that nice looking but people choose them because they're really fast or has a good engine. haha dunno just some random thought..

I like mine ;) The teal lid really stands out from other laptops. No one else has anything like it, and everyone I've shown it to thinks it's neat. Plus, it's freakin' fast, so that always helps, and I'm a horrible geek, so Linux and all those other non-Windows things I do make people ooh and aahh.

I don't care about what brand of laptop you have if you want a head turner get one professionally painted. If you want to test it then go to an airport with me, Duke, or Malia with our painted lappies and then see how many heads really turn.

Whenever I fly (first class) I break out my laptop and enjoy the other guys and gals looking up from their vanilla IBMs and Sonys in utter shock.

    Malias:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=87702

Also, an Alienware mALX, Hypersonic, FNW, Voodoo, or even high end Dell with blow any Sony laptop out of the water in terms of performance.

I have to say that Apple makes THE best looking products on the market.

The Macbook Pro looks soooo good....gimmegimme

    Dell's designs, however, are pathetic.
