Ditto! You can't beat the looks and build of a Macbook/Pro.
-
im extremely satisfied with the looks of my SZ360p/c.
-
When I bought my e1505, I bought it for the stuff inside.......now I wish I had bought a compal or something similar becase these white bumpers are begining to get on my nerves more than ever.
-
I love the looks of my 6400. I prefer it other stuff like my mate's MacBook. Mine doesn't look like a Fischer Price invention.
-
Couldn't be more happy with my black HP 6000z with imprint finish. Mac books look kinda flamboyant IMO keke
-
Now that I'm into apples, I think I should change my vote from the last option in the poll to the first

My first notebook was a dell inspiron B1xx don't really remember the number but was just the basic black laptop. Was all new to laptops and didn't really care about the looks. My next one and current one at the moment is the dell inspiron 8600 with the red quicksnap cover. That was when I thought the looks did matter since my fellow computer engineering classmates were also getting dells if the not the majority and decided to go with the red cover to differentiate mine from the others. By next week hopefully, this will be ny newest laptop.

All I have to say is that I love the Apple minimalist aesthetic. My macbook pro with its aluminum finish (and case) looks and feels great. Soo glad I went with Apple. My old laptop was a 2003 Acer and I thought that looked ok. But it had terrible build, even more pathetic reliability issues, and probably some of the most pathetic performance I've seen in my life. I was so disgusted with windows after my Acer and I switched to mac by impulse. And now that I did I'm soo glad I switched to mac. Never again, windows!!!!

I love the look of my Sager 5750.
On a side note I think that dell's look pretty good. The thing is that I see so many of them everywhere that they're nothing special. -
None of the options apply to me. I bought a fairly good looking laptop, and I don't think about it in the course of normal use.
-
I´m studying architecture so I decided for a minimalistic style and power under the hood!
-
I've never really liked the look of my laptop and the fact that paint's starting to chip off doesn't exactly help.
-
my laptop looked sexy the day i bought it and it still looks sexy today lol
-
My HP looked really good when i brought it. But soon after they came out with a new, thinner design. But i really did buy it for the looks, but when people see it, they are like wow, this looks really good.
-
I LOVE how my Dell XPS M1210 looks (no Camera on the lid). LOVE it.
-
For me looks are very important to me. Sony has some beautiful notebooks along with Asus. I would buy an Alienware notebook in a second if it looked as sexy, sleek, and smooth as a Vaio or Asus. But I stay away from Alienware because their notebooks look too geeky for me.

-
I think Dell inspiron(?...the one with the white bands around the edges) is making a pathetic attempt to mimic the Powerbook Titanium design. And, like everything else they're doing, failing.

If I would have to give my S96J a score based on its looks I would give it a 6/10.
But otherwise I still love this notebook to death!
-
I'd give my A8JP a 9/10 score. Only the palmrest stickers are losing shine abit
And it's way better looking then my previous nx6115...i always got weird stares from people sitting around me because i'm using a business notebook. -
I would vote my originally packaged Inspiron 6400/e1505 a 3 out of 10. But now after I added some tech flavour to it I would give it a 7.5/10. I painted the bumpers black and have an array of computer related stickers on the back; I also removed the Dell emblem.
-
-
17 glossy black inches looks pretty good. But it sure is high maintenance! 8/10
-
-
i'd give my laptop a 8 out of ten perhaps...(The screen carries it)...but its all about the power inside (underneath its packing a super saiyan 3 gotenks style...gotta love the dragonball z
)
-
I will give my v6 a 9/10. Only the Lamborghini VX1/VX2 looks sexier.
-
I would give my Superman Edition laptop a 9/10. I would have given it a perfect 10/10 if it came with a red cape and could fly.
-
Hey if you are going for the looks, then you should go for Sony Vaio FE series. I am not a big fan of Sony, but Vaio looks sleek and sexy. The logo Vaio it says everything.
If you are considering different platform, then go for Apple. Apple always leads the design, and on top of that you can get those snap on cover for it.
Here is the one of those:

does any one know somebody or some company in nederland where i can paint my notebook?
-
I think the dv9000 and similar HP notebooks are very nice looking. I also purchased a UGA stick on for the lid. very cool looking
-
I bought a vaio c 190/g. Among the sexiest computers i have owned or seen (previous laptops were a vaio fs series notebook and hp dv6000z special edition with white imprint finish. The sony C blows them away =).

What is considered "sexy", etc., is subjective to individual taste. So is the degree of importance of owning an appealing looking laptop. For example, I happen to think the Macs are about the sexiest, but their price range keeps my priority regarding owning a laptop for its sexiness in check.
I think that anyone that sees your laptop, like maybe in a cafe, who is not an enthusiast wouldn't know ( or care about) the difference, and anyone who is actually a laptop enthusiast would be interested in looking over a notebook, no matter how ugly.
But whether someone's a laptop enthusiast or not, they will definitely notice scratshes or rub marks on it.
I have an I9200 and finally found the solution to my worn palmrest problem;
-strip off all the paint and hand-polish the plastic underneath. The plastic on a 9200 palrest is gray, while the plastic under a 9400 palmrest is white. I had to modify a 9400 palmrest to fit, but it was worth it. It's still not my choice of color, but the "white bumpers" thing is gone, and it looks brand new again.
And to me, looking "brand new" is sexy. -

My Sony AR 17" with Blu ray is so sexy with it's glossy piano black. It nearly made me blind. XD
The Macbook Pros are really nice too! Stylish design! And slim! -
Thinkpad T61...might be ugly..but my philosophy..the uglier it is..the better its build =P
-
They are quite cool in their appearance.

You should look at the Asus V6 series, gorgeous and reasonable.
-
I love how my Vaio looks. It is so sleek and yet not overdone. It is very sturdy as well. I am very happy with everything about the notebook, except its lack of a dedicated graphics card.
-
I have a Dell M1210 and although it may be considered ''good looking'' - it is very photogenic, upon receiving it I notice that the build quality isnt that good- the outside (lid and base) of the laptop is Mg-alloy, but the rest is cheapo grey plastic s[ray painted silver- in 4 months the wrist rest is beginning to wear (not so noticeable yet) and the powder black lid coating on the Mg-alloy can chip
-
wow, i was actually considering buying the m1210 for its "better build quality", but decided to save myself some money and get the inspiron 1420. thanks for the info mate.

I like the corporate Dell Latitude look.
-
I agree that sexy should be a laptop that isn't flashy, but is stylish. At first thought I thought the Asus Lamborghini would be sexy... but it's too much!! Screams rob me!!!
-
I wouldn't consider my laptop (or any HP Compaq business notebook, for that matter) sexy or ugly; therefore, I can't really vote on the poll. I do think they're very plain, but in a very elegant way. They have this understated, clean, professional look which exclaims (more like whispers) "business notebook", without looking overly utilitarian like ThinkPads do.
As for the flashy, more consumer-y notebooks, they do look very nice at first, but their styling doesn't tend to age as well as business notebooks do, like Thinkpads and HP Compaqs. So in the long run, less can be more.
Now, if you want to see an UGLY laptop, check out the pics of my 1994 Toshiba Satellite T2400CS. Maybe not quite as ugly as a Dell Inspiron e1505, or maybe it's worse; you tell me.
Of course, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. -
Vista is like Paris Hilton - very pretty on the outside but ugly and dumb on the inside.
Gentoo is like me - very pretty on the outside and complex and hard to understand on the inside, but very friendly and smart to those who do manage to understand. -
a lot of good hardware is often described as not being aesthetically appealing, with games consoles for instance, look at what people called the sega saturn, xbox and the "video tape recorder from the eighties" the playstation [mkII],would rather have a bulky looking but reliable bit of hardware than something stylish but unstable, not much point in having something great to look at if it's at the expense of needed performance. -
They say that "beauty is only skin-deep". It appears that this is also true for computers and other electronics. -
proves that something can be ridiculously good looking and work at the same time ;P -
