I just installed new bios, and i must say installation process was really long and my laptop was really, really slow during that. Fortunately it all finished well.
Some users have reported that there's still problem with large battery usage while laptop is shut down or on sleep mode. This problem, as i know first appeared on 1.19bios.

    @FENDI
SecureAble cant determine if you have enabled VT, if you run it on win x64. You can read this info if you click on Hardware virtualization in securable:
" However, while running under a 64-bit version of Windows this program cannot execute its 32-bit kernel code to determine whether Intel's VMX virtual machine extensions are being locked on, locked off, or neither." Try using program that RedRecividist provided.

Also, I tried allods, and game is good, but i just don't have enough time to play it seriously. Im playing Just Cause 2 atm. You should try it, its very fun.

    hi guys!

well i have already activated the VT in the latest BIOS, still using the helpful tutorial from lordkag a couple page back, and using RedRecividist, microsoft HAV detection tool, now i can finally confirm that it's activated, and atridhr, thx for your information about the secureAble, i never notice about that until u point it out! well thx alot all of u guys for the solution here!

atridhr : yes allords is a good game, just that maybe we both have other commitment to focus on, anyway Just Cause 2 caught my attention too, alot of great review about it, anyway how was the game play? is it like GTA and u can do alot of stun?

JustCause 2 is all about stuns and fun and that's what makes it great game. You're free to do and go anywhere, there's no restrictions or loading while playing. Graphic is amazing even if you don't play on all high or medium.
Only bad thing is the games story, witch is linear and poor written. But when you hook a soldier onto your car, and drag him on the road while shooting enemy chopper from sky, you'll forget all about that ;)

If anybody is having trouble playing back 1080P or 720P content its the 1.20 version of the bios. Its spikes the t6400 processor making it unwatchable. Switch back to 1.13.

hmm...the only problem i have with the cine dash is that sometimes when i was watching youtube videos, the dash volume key will go crazy and back to zero but the actual volume still the same as u can still control volume from the desktop.but i reset the cine dash control, everything is fine now!and for u guys who having the problem switching from vista to win 7,i really not good in tech or bios stuff but for me to get everything working fine in my laptop,i use totally just VISTA driver which is much more stabil compare to win 7 provided by acer.so try it with just using vista drivers from the beginning!

Vanquisher - I get occasional weirdness with my cinedash not matching the real system volume, but not often enough to be annoying - my only tip would be that it happens most after resuming from hibernation/suspend, so avoid using those modes too much I guess.

There's a new beta Nvidia display driver for GeForce 9600M GT - anyone tried?

    Hi!

I have a problem with my Windows Experience Index, particulary with processor speed.

I installed a fresh copy of Windows 7 64-bit, upgraded bios to 1.20, installed every update there is from Windows update and installed Microsoft Security Essentials.

Then - as a geekish person - I wanted to test if there is everything OK with my computer by doing the WEI test. After few minutes of testing, I saw that processor and memory speeds are lots behind the others. They are now 3.9 and 4.2. They used to be more (remembering 5.x or 6.x-ish).

Have someone else had the same problem with 6935G? Maybe Windows Update installed a wrong chipset driver, maybe something is wrong with my hardware or maybe there went something wrong with the installation? Can do the installation again and it doesn't really matter if it's a hardware malfunction, because they get repaired for free here in EU (European Customer Law ownz).

Hope someone can figure it out! Cheers.

    Hi Hc-Amis,

welcome to the forum, anyway after looking at your windows experience index, and compare it with mine, indeed that your processor in a bit way off the performance expected, but i can see that your graphics are way better than mine!so in the end, i don't think it's because of the window update problems, probably others or maybe hardware problem! anyway we'll wait for others to give out their suggestion, they will give out much more accurate solution! anyway here is my windows index! so guys let's help him out =)

    Hi! Thanks for reply.

So I formatted my 6935G again and installed the same Windows 7 64-bit all over again. This time I did the WEI test the first thing when logged in. I did not install any updates nor drivers.

It's so strange (and relieving at the same time) to see that the processor and memory speeds are now where they are supposed to be. Gonna install some updates now, research continues!

Just thought I'd post a quick msg on here to say my Acer 6935G 944G32 works fine with 6GB of RAM if anyone was wondering about upgrading. I'm on bios revision 1.20 - I did have to go into MSCONFIG and edit the boot options>Advanced to enable the full amount though as it seemed to default to 3GB usable (out of 6GB installed) the first time I booted! After unticking the box it recognises all 6GB now (4GB+2GB SoDimms).

For got to say I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.

    All the best :)

    @wandyhee
1.Try reinstalling Acer Crystal Webcam, latest version 5.2.10.2.
    2. Download From Here. Download first Acer Arcade Deluxe v2.0.5105 for Vista, and then just update from the program itself.

    Hello guys,

I have an Acer Aspire 6935G with the T9400 CPU and the 9600GT card, blu ray etc ...

I must say, I was a happy user till today. Something like a week ago , or 10 days, I upgraded from 1.13 BIOS to 1.20 (I had problems with 1.14 BIOS once, it freezed my pc at flash, so I never tryed later until 1.20).

My notebook worked well, I do not know if 1.20 kills the battery, since mine is dead long time ago and I use it at home always at AC power so I never cared.
My problem is another one. For some reason, after shutdown today (my son played a game like 15-20 mins and my wife made a normal shutdown after that) my notebook does not boot.

It powers on, lights on, fan on, blu-ray drive spins, but Bluetooth light doesn't turn off as it normally does, it doesn't read from HD, it doesn't show anything on monitor. Like it hangs at BIOS.
For me seems that for some reason, I got a bricked notebook.

I have read a lot about BIOS recovery, and with some tool I found out, that the recovery name of our BIOS file must be KM2X64.fd but I do not manage to start the recovery process as explained by pressing Fn + Esc and kept pressed, AC adaptor in etc ...

When I connect AC power PC starts from itself anyway ...

If anyone of you has recovered ever a BIOS on our model and knows the steps, please share the information, it would be very very needed.

I do have still warranty, but I try to avoid the RMA hassle and so on ...

    Any help is highly appreciated!

Thank you in advance for your time!

    Best regards,

    Ivo

    Hello,

I had the same problem and the only solution for me was to send to repair center (he was under warranty)

I tried nearly all the name and techniques without result.

At the repair c, they change graphic card, motherboard and one ram stick (?)...

    Sorry

    Hi all
Does anyone know what the best audio driver is to use in windows 7 (32bit).
I have upgraded from vista to 7 and cannont seem to get eAudio and the tuba bass (internal Sub) to work.
I have played with the settings under speakers and turning the slider (internal sub) from 0 to 100 makes no difference.

    Cheers

@ mea04cjh: Use the default Realtek Driver. It's being kept up to date (latest version R2.55) and you can use the windows sound icon to set the internal subwoofer to the desired value. Don't use any service from empowering (it is not maintained anymore under 7) because it is offering useless time consuming services.

@ hamzie : It is not the case. Just use the latest BIOS 1.20 with virtualization or not. I haven't noticed any problem with it or the sound. Some complained about the battery wear (I did saw a minor wear after it, but I'm not sure if it was caused by the BIOS since nobody else complained).

Also check Station-Drivers for the latest drivers, official or not.

Thanks for that. Sorry im really new to this but does 'virtualization' refer to virtual surround sound?

If so is there a different method to installing the bios if i want that?
And the bios itself is downloaded from the acer site right?

    Edit:

    God im an idiot :p
    Just googled it
Still dont get the concept of it.. does it improve performance greatly?

    @ hamzie :
Hardware-assisted Virtualization it is used only in virtual machines, meaning if you use a virtual environment to test other OS or applications it will use the processor at it's full speed without using software-emulation. It depends on the processor to use its native instructions and it can only be deactivated in the BIOS, which was the case of Acer. It offers nothing for your default OS. The metod to activate it has been described here and also here.

    Hey bud i fixed it
    :D

    I followed these instructions

    Hey bud i fixed it

    I followed these instructions

    1. Go here and download and extract the latest BIOS for the netbook.
    2. Rename the BIOS file to KM2X64.fs
    3. Copy it to USB flash drive
    4. Ensure that the AC adapter is plugged in.
    5. Insert the USB flash drive into a USB port.
    6. Press and Hold down the Fn and the Esc keys together and press the power button.
    7. When the unit's power light comes on wait a few seconds and release the Fn and Esc keys.
    8. After the keys have been released the power light will start to blink.
    9. During the BIOS update process the display will be blank.
    10. Let the unit run and after approximately 1 to 7 minutes, the unit should reboot and the BIOS will be updated.

its different to your typical one since AC adapter is plugged in before you plug in your usbits different to your typical one since AC adapter is plugged in before you plug in your usb

    Hi everyone,

    I recently bought an OCZ vertex 2 ssd (7.7/8 on windows'mark :D ) and installed windows 7 64 bits (previously 32 bits).
But I have a problem, Cinedash doesn't control volume like it should be (0->100% on the cinedash, only 10% on windows for example)
Moreover, I can't find the eaudio management for windows 7 64 bits :s

    Does anybody can help me?

    Cheers!

    Some Acer 6935g have a 7200rpm hdd...

And I'll buy (may be) a momentus XT. It's a great 7200rpm hdd with 4Gb flash memory (only 18sec on boot). :)

    Hi.

Has anyone ever had problems with CPU Fan?

I am not sure, but it could have started after one of the BIOS upgrades.

    Field Value
    Sensor Properties
    Sensor Type CPU, HDD, ACPI
    GPU Sensor Type Diode (NV-Diode)

Temperatures (15-20mins later, with fan still on)
    Motherboard 35 °C (95 °F) 34 °C (93 °F)
    CPU 34 °C (93 °F) 36 °C (97 °F)
    CPU #1 / Core #1 27 °C (81 °F) 27 °C (81 °F)
    CPU #1 / Core #2 24 °C (75 °F) 24 °C (75 °F)
    GPU Diode 46 °C (115 °F) 41 °C (106 °F)
    Seagate ST9320421AS 35 °C (95 °F) 42 °C (108 °F)

    Voltage Values
    CPU Core 0.950 V
    GPU Core 1.050 V

This are the temps around 5-10 mins after sleep mode... Once it woke up, fan as off, but after few minutes it was already on, not maxmium, but u can definitely hear it. With such low temp it shouldn't start up, unless Graphics card is the issue, I tried many drivers and even while only web browsing, temp is between 45-50C. Sometimes I can only watch forceware clocks, and they jump from level 1 to up to max level 4, pretty much without doing anything, is that normal?

When I bought it, for the first year it was very quiet, then it got much louder, but the fan was a bit loose, so I bought a new one 2 weeks ago, it is much more quiet, yet it is still on with such low temps, I have seen people saying theirs get even to 60-80..?

I tried some softs that are supposed to control fan speed, but none of them can see this one (I guess it applies only to PC fans?). Laptop is definitely not overheating, I guess in the Bios it is set for graphics card to be on over 40 or something..

    Any clue?

Does anyone have a backup of the hidden partition to boot into xp under acer arcade deluxe? I upgraded my hard drive and somehow lost it. I would like to be able to do the fast boot into xp for media. Any recommendations for what I should do or a copy would be greatly appreciated.

Use Python 2.7.2 and apply to the backup version of bios. First install clean, then run with the modified platform.ini to store the backup and exit after it's done. With this backup you can run vtenable.py with either version of python and see if it works. Last, install the new bios with VT enabled.

    Hi,
I got my Acer 6935G-844G32Bn for a year or 2 now and im trying to make it a little bit better by upgrading my ram.
I looked around for what this laptop would support.
    According to Aida64:
    • North Bridge Eigenschappen: North Bridge Intel Cantiga PM45
    • Intel platform: Montevina
    • Ondersteunde FSB-snelheden: FSB533, FSB667, FSB800, FSB1066
    • Ondersteund Geheugentype: DDR2-667, DDR2-800, DDR3-667, DDR3-800, DDR3-1066 SDRAM
    • Maximale hoeveelheid geheugen: 8 GB
    • Revisie / Stepping: 07 / B3
    • Verpakkingstype: 1329 Pin FC-BGA
    • Verpakkingsformaat: 3.4 cm x 3.4 cm
    • Core Spanning: 1.05 V
    • In-Order Queue Depth: 12

    and several websites (inc. Kingston)
    the acer 6935G supports 8gb ddr3 pc8500 1066Mhz ram. I got 2 4gb Kingston modules for specially for Acer,
but after installing the laptop would do NOTING at all but lockup after pressing the power button .
The hdd light would blink a view times and the fan started spinning but nothing else  .
After downgrading my bios back to the latest official bios (v1.20) and trying some different configurations of 1x4gb & 1x2gb I noticed that 6gb works
I just re-flashed my bios back to the unofficially released v1.21 (because of vtx) and it works just the same.

    Possible reasons?
    • Can it be that certain builds of the 6935G have older parts, so they don't support it?
    • Does Acer's hardware support 8gb but they disabled it via software?
    • Is my motherboard defective and i should get it replaced?

Anyone has upgraded a 6935G successfully to 8gb? pleas respond

Not 6935G but PM45 for sure supports 8GB. It could either be BIOS limitation or your other stick is defect. Have you tried to swap them both?

I don't know if there is something with your model..

    I don't see a reason why it shouldn't work.

If you can't find drivers from ACER's site. Download the Chipset from intel.com, then WiFi from Atheros or Intel, depends what is in your computer and everything should be working. The most important is the Chipset and GPU driver.

Keep in mind that I have not used your model etc. This information you get from me is based from my earlier experience with laptops.

I keep a folder on my PC of all the latest drivers for all components straight from the original manufacturer of each component - my machine runs very very nicely so I think it was worthwhile! I would be happy to share but they are 64-bit drivers as I use Win7 64-bit.
