Yep, this is also what I do. As you said, a little bit more to keep track off but worth it! I'm doing this for all 4 of my laptops..

Then I'm sorry, I have no idea as I have not used your model...

Are you sure that your Suboofer is working? It might be a hardware problem, I've don't need to anything else then just install the Realtek driver to get good sound, the suboofer is reorganized during Windows Setup.

I installed a driver that worked and the sub made sound during a testing 5.1.

But I updated it and lost that driver..

My sound is good is just I know the sub can work much better ;)

Hi, I have an Aspire 6935G just like you, I wonder if you have enabled bios virtualization in 1.20 and if you worked properly, you could send them by email, if only to have it in bios 1.14 send it to me please.

I tried to follow in the footsteps of the page that comment but I am not qualified to do so without carrying my laptop.

    my email is [email protected]

    Thank you very much.

if you flash your 6935G with this clean v1.21 bios bin you got VTX enabled. running on this very same bin for 8 months now and it works great. (dont forget to make a backup of your current bios with the tool your flashing with. have questions? PM me

just use the v1.20 bios update and replace KM2X64.fd with the 1.21-clean.fd (just rename v1.20 to 1.20.fd and the 1.21-clean.fd to KM2X64.fd). If you want to be safe open up the platform.ini and add a name behind BackupName= (like this: BackupName=currentbios.fd) if you now start the InsydeFlash.exe it wil dump your current bios and ask to update your bios.

How exactly, in plain English, do I do this VT unlocking? Well, I have downloaded the 1.20 BIOS from ACER itself and also BIOS uploaded by petete20. Not to mention the vtenable.py and 1.21-clean.fd files after installing Python 2.7.2 on my laptop while running Windows 7 x86 on my Acer Aspire 6935G. A step-by-step instruction, as simple as possible, is appreciated. Thank you in advanced.

Ok, here a step by step tutorial as how i flashed my bios.

    1. Download Bios-1.21.rar here
(the rar is bios update 1.20 with update file 1.21.
The program also automaticly makes an backup of the current bios before flashing to 1.21 (just in case).
its called bios_backup.fd and will be in the same dir as the update.
    2. unpack the rar.
    3. Start InsydeFlash.exe
    4. The program backus up the current bios
    5. The program asks if you want to flash the bios
    6. After its done reboot and VT is unlocked

*i have to say that I've done this with my 6935G at least 6 times now so i know it works, but i can't take any responsibly if something should go wrong.

I think Realtek have removed the Subwoofer in latest drivers for a reason, mainly so people dont damage their woofer drivers.

I tried the older drivers from Acer site on my 7720G and got distortion while watching youtube vids, with the new R2.71 drivers on Realtek site all is good again.
