I'm not gonna whine, I also ordered this laptop and I'd love to have it, but the problem is not only in the US, as far as I know, they havnt been shipped in Europe either, or atleast not to my reseller
-
I ordered mine on the 11th of may and received it on the 15th of june.
So what's wrong with the new shippment. -
I like how someone resurrected this 2 month old thread.
I ordered June 13th.
I got it late august.. 2 days before college. So prolly the 25th or 26th. -
Even Jesus protested when He entered the temple and found it was desecrated.
There is a definite improvement in shipping times so perhaps the point is now moot as things are 'normal' now?
In the "Official" IFL90 Shipping/Waiting Thread", around this page, 92, people, (me) and others began looking at this issue of accountability. Anyway, people their who have been waiting a long time are now receiving their WXGA orders faster and faster. But the wait is apparently still on for the higher resolution WSXGA. So, maybe there is room for improvement?
I still say, tell the resellers how you feel, complain to the company, and next time you buy, show them both you will not accept such an unacceptable wait by refusing to pay full price until the product is ready to ship. Perhaps the resellers will reevaluate their 'full payment' policies to our advantage. They are in business and will NOT lose money even if they did. I don't know about you but this WAS the FIRST, and LAST time I will ever pay in full for a product, of any kind, without a reasonable and timely return. People told me, 'that's the way it is with on-line laptop buying, you pay and wait'. I say hogwash, that's the way it is because you allow it to be that way. It is MY MONEY and nobody will hold it hostage again. If that means not buying, so be it.
Think of it this way. Price usually goes down although sometimes up. Had I ordered the IFL90 a week or two before I did, I would have paid almost $145.00-195.00 more. Then the Intel price drop came and I ordered it for less. (Eventually, I canceled because of the wait issue and bought it elsewhere.)
But the point is: If you know there is a long wait, show 'them' how you feel by not ordering until they are ready. Watch the fora representing your choice of laptop and wait until shipping picks ups speed to 'normal'. As with the IFL90, all at once, now that it seems the WXGA screens are available and that system is in abundance, people who ordered in June are getting theirs a few days before people who ordered in late August. So, it seems that if I ordered an IFL90 WXGA today, the wait would only be about 1-2 weeks. That's 1-2 weeks more than if I had ordered in June or August. But I would have been in control of my money all of that time, it would have earned 'me' interest, and would have been available to me if I saw something else I wanted.
Are you willing to send complaints? (IFL90)
