edit, I ment to say I can get up to 480/395. I have not tried to push the core anymore then 480. At 398 the memory has problems show up. so I figure 395 is the best I can push if I really need it.

Yeah, with 165 drivers, I can't access coolbits and any of my overclocks with nTune don't stick.

With the 121b bios and the 97.XX drivers i can only get my core up to 480 and ram to 440, and even then im still artifacting/ freezing. How are you able to clock your ram so damn high?

    Hi!
few months ago when i bought Hel80 i was try OC but i overclock only to chipset 460 and memory 420. Few days ago i reinstall drivers to NGO NVIDIA Optimized Driver 2.15822 and flash new bios 1.22 and when I install nTune I can OC graphic to 500 chipset and 460 memory. I don't know what help but now it's much better. In 500/460 is stability and i play few hours with no problem. When incrase memory to 470 sometimes are problem. In 3DMark05 i was have result about 42xx, in 3DMark06 2475

    sorry for my english :)

    Ender,

The difference may be RAM binning. Who knows?

    gnaidy,

Great clocks! I'm switching to BIOS 122b today. Maybe I'll regain some of the clockspeed that I lost with the newer BIOS. Great 3DMark scores too by the way! Hows the gaming with 122b? Any issues?

I updated BIOS today to 122B and I noticed that now I'm able to OC up to GPU- 500MHz / Mem - 450MHz ... I was using the stock BIOS (114B) before the update and I could only set the memory clock to 420MHz...

    This is my score on 3DMark 2006 @ 500 MHz / 450 MHz on Vista Ultimate :

I guess if run it on a fresh installation of XP Pro the score would reach 25xx easily...

Im looking at a 450/400 OC so far, no artifacts. getting a 3085 in 3dmark05, default settings (1024x768), up from a 2584 at the same settings. This is with the 122b BIOS. I love this laptop :D

I think I'm really lucky. Yesterdar I downloaded RivaTuner and started to OC my HEL80.

My method is: I raise the core clock 10MHz at a time and run 3dMark06 to test for stability. If all goes well, I'll raise another 10MHz until I run into artifacts, then I lower 10MHz back, test a little more and I'm done with the core clock. Then I repeat the above steps with the mem clock.

So far I pushed the core at 480MHz and the mem clock to, surprise, 410MHz  . I think I can push more, because I deliberately stoped at 410, I want to use the notebook a feel days before raising the clock some more.

I think I got a real 7600Go and Compal just underclocked it for no know reason :D

there must be some problem with your system... with that clock values you should be getting a score similiar or even better than mine...

What is the safe temperature's level of the GPU after overclocking? I mean the temperature during playing the game or something like that :D
    I have compal EL80. GPU - 470 MHz and Memory BUS - 370 MHz and I reach sometimes even 90 degrees (C) ! Isn't it to high?

i think that's very high temperature!...the max temperature i get while overclocking is about 60 to 65 ºC.

i run test with the same specs as you and i get a much better score than you, so there must be a problem afecting the performance...

Hey..so how do you get the nvidia ntune to stick?
I treid using riva tuner but it wont let me clock... i check off enable driver-level hardware clocking and it tells me to reboot to detect the core clock frequencies..i do that...it doesnt detect and does the same thing..i click check now..it doesnt do anything...do i need to uninstall ntune?

    c2d t7400
    7600go 350/350
    1gb ddr2 667mhz
    3dmark06 = ~1660 marks

so i enabled auto overclocking @ coolbits and added about 40mhz to core.

now its rockstable and GPU temp is 55C at full load (played UT3 demo for some time).
    3dmark06 is 2030 marks.

    gpu @ 450/410

not going to make it faster. no need for that :)

    1.23BIOS and 94.20 extreme-g drivers.

    Hi,
I have just installed the demo of Crysis the amazing last fps game. It is absolutely beautiful. How far can I push the GPU and memory to have the best performance. I have already tried 450/400 but would like to know if some have tried with games. Crysis is wonderful but my geforce seems to see the end of its life
ps:I have the latest geforce drivers

well mine runs 450/410 all the time and i played crysis demo last night. 800x600 and everything set to low is mostly 25-35fps.

    3dmark06 is 2030 marks.

havent tryied any furter but i guess i could push the mem little bit more

    extreme-g mobileforce 91.47 drivers

    EDIT:

well now its 2095 marks :p
    gpu @ 465/425

first i tryed 450/450 but there were lots of arctifact. so i tested this one.

    EDIT2:

    470/425 and 2104 marks :)
i played nfs:carbon 2 hours and no problems at all. so it will be 24/7 settings for now :)

    Hi!

Thought I'd ask and share my experiences:
    1. How to increase FPS in HL2 EP2?
    2. How does the presets in the Nvidia control panel work? I got the one for HL2 EP2, but I do not know if it affects FPS or game play.

I just finished HL2 EP2 (Half life 2 Episode 2), but found FPS to be around 15 at the "recommended" system configuration. According to Steam I should have somewhat the equivalent of the "Recommended" system requirements. I therefore found it quite disappointing; and tried to overclock my GO 7600 512 ram (7600GO 512). That worked somewhat.

AT 1650*1400 and "recommended settings" = all highest except a few...)
    Rivatuner
    490\400 (originally 450\350)
Max GPU Temperature 86 Celsius (usually 85)
    No extra cooling
    20 FPS (usually 15)
    So I gained 5 FPS.

    At lowest playable settings
    1200*800
    FPS 65-70
    still jumping a bit
    Max GPU temperature 87.5

I have seen no artefacts nor had any problems.

Golden rule: Don’t overclock without knowing your GPU temperature. I tried ntune, but since it does not display GPU temperature for my card I found no use for it and deleted it (crap software!) It’s kind of weird that free software works better than ntune. 87.5 Celsius is quite the temperature, but it seems to be a general agreement that MAX GPU temperature in laptops are 90 degrees Celsius. My computer is a 15 inch, and has got some space inside. I guess temperature is more critical in smaller computers?

Sorry for the lengthy comment. I might even post it as a new thread..

Please feel free to comment. Answers are very much welcomed!

first . that gpu temp is insane .
mine runs at 470/420 all the time and under heavy load and many hours of gaming its around 65C.

and btw. why u even try to play with 1680x1050 reso. u need a damn good computer to play with those setting @ new games.

e.g. 1280x800 is fine enough when u still want to use widescreen.

i play usualy @ 800x600 and try to put everything to highest level . e.g nfs prostreet.

What kind of driver version of Geforce GO7600 should I go for:

    My system today:
    HEL80
    Core 2 duo 5600
    2 GB DDR ram

    DriverVersion 6.14.10.8390

Where should I get the new driver from?

    Thanks

@knockertommy: the one you can find @the compal driver download page ... and this is absolutely the wrong thread for the question.

    @topic:
    Maximum stable frequency is 500/430 for GPU/MEM => ~2250 3d06Marks
    Power-saving setting is 25/40 ;)
I recommend ATITool, it allows you to modifiy all three speeds of a set (=min, balanced and maximum speed PowerMizer-setting) ...

    Welcome to everyone !
I come from Poland , and i'm new one on this forum .
First of all , I would like to say thanks to all of You for your posts in this topic .
I'm one of the owner of Hell 80 and following to your sugestions I've had overcloked my card to 480 core and 420 memory .
This settings provides to stabile 9440 in 3dm03 and 4087 in 3dm05 points.
If I get enything higher then 428 on memory clock I have arifacts during 3dm tests .
However I'd like to ask You about time of live overclocked video card - how much is it shorter ?
The temperature in the stress-work is not higher then 50C .
    ps
Sorry for my English - I'm still learning ....

    greetings from Estonia!

mine runs 470/420 stable all the time i play and no problems at all.
and my score is exacly 2100p :)
i tryed little bit higher mem but it cave me artifacts too .

anyway. i dont think that this kind of "safe-level" overclocking makes the gpu life shorter because when theres no overheating - theres no problem.
mine is around 50-55C also and that fine .

Thanks very much ! It is a good news to me .
One question yet if You never mind - what if I change a drivers from video card ? Should I make OC from the start level , or can I run the clocks like now 480/420 at once ? What is Your suggestion ?

hm sorry but i dont understand what u are trying to ask. maybe try again ? im not very pro at english either :p

but well i write what my settings are.
470/420 @ 3d mode runs 24/7 and i dont have to change anything from anywhere. when i open 3d program/game the clock will be instantly 470/420 .
i havent touched 2d clock - those are default . so in windows or when watching movie - it is not overclocked.

    EDIT:

oh now i got it! damn , too long workday - brain doesnt work.
if u install new drivers then overclocking will be deleted. GPU will be at default clock so you need to set the clock again.

for this grafic card the best drivers for gaming and in benchmark are XTreme-G 91.47

I noticed your post about the Xtreme G 91.47 and also someone mentioned the 84.74 (i am assuiming this one is from laptopvideo2go)

ive tried maybe ~20 different drivers, mostly from latopvideo2go. and best result both in benchmakrs and in games are with xtreme-g 91.47 :p theres only one "bug" or "failure" with them. Enemy Territory Quake Wars wont start . but i dont care, i dont like that game anyway.

InterFace , did you try Xtreme 163.67 ? Do you think it can be a good one ?
And which one will be better to play in new games : 91,47 or 163.67 ?
And one more question if you can - can I do OC with Xtreme drivers ?
Sorry for my simple questions , but I'm newbie in OC and I would like to know more than less ....
    thanks

ofcourse you can. as far as i know and have seen - xtreme drivers have way more options in menus than "original" drivers.
and imo you can go to higher clock with them . or atleast i couldnt go pass 400mhz with original drivers. right now its 470/420 as i already said - all the time.

and no , i havent tested newest xtreme driver but i tested 19x.xx from laptopvideo2go . i saw a little increase in very new games (crysis , ut3 , etc) but in older (mostly quake3 engine based) games i had a pretty big performance drop. same with 3dmark benchmarks.

Hey i've been trying to overclock my 7600 card with 94.24 drivers and the automatic overclocking nvdidia gives me is around 390core/450 mem. It seems that everyone elses numbers are reversed (core higher than mem). Why is this? I think a higher mem is better but im not sure. Let me know what to do. Thanks

The answear is very easy: If you build a graphics card, you could chose only from a few GPU-cores. If you look at the (G)RAM-side of life (*g*), you have a much bigger range of several GDDR(2)-RAM-Chips ... the quality of the GPU is nearly fixed, the quality of the GRAM not!
Ok, what is the result of those facts?
The result is, that your GPU has a bigger spare area, which is used for overclocking, the GRAM will surrender at lower frequencies than the GPU!

    Hi Everyone.
Didn't do any benchmarking but I just updated my MTB BIOS and wanted to share the OC results with you guys.

114B - Core 482 / Memory 419 (That was last stable, any more up and it wouldn't pass the nVidia test)

    123B - Core 496 / Memory 430 (Also last stable, @500/434 had a BSOD :( )

    Bye

Yesterday I saw this : Nvidia Sentinel - heat indicator ..... and my card is very slow from that time . Could someone tell me what schould I do now to remedy the problem ?. Is my card demage .... forever ... ?

@spizzak: As far as i know is the memory THE bottleneck, overclocking the core without the memory is affecting the result much lesser than overclocking both, memory and core.

    Need some help here.
Hello Rocha, i am a rookie in notebook overclocking. I got BYON M3300 (not so familiar, isn't it ? but it's actually a though notebook in my country, and i played Company of Heroes in 1028x768 resolution, all set to high, for 12 hours, still running smooooth..), Core2duo T7200, motherboard Compal HGX3L bios version 116A (shown in pc wizard 2008), chipset intel i945PM, DDR2 667 2 gb, Nvidia geforce go 7600 256 mb. I'm impressed with your 3Dmark06 result. Do you think i can flash my bios ? If i can, how and where i can find the new bios ? one more, what tool do you use for overclocking your graphic card ? Regardfully thank's for your answer.

I apologize if this has already been answered but i wasn't completely sure how to phrase this question for a search.

I used Donald's original post of 480/369 and I definitely experience smoother gameplay when i play Crysis verses when i play it at 350/350. The graphics are still at LOW for everything, but its still smoother when over-clocked.

    So my question is:
Is it safe/practical to over-clock to boost performance for a game, then once I'm finished playing, move the clock back down to its default 350/350?
