Yes, it is certainly safe. However it may not be practical since it takes time to do it and go back again...since it is safe to run overclocked it would be easier to just leave it there as long you no issue develop.

Will the 94.24 drivers really allow for better overclock results?

Glitch, is Crysis even worth getting to play on the hel80? With everything on low...

Hey guys. I have been experimenting with overclocking my HEL80, and got it to 500/450. But im a noob at overclocking, so i would like to hear if there is something i overlooked before i go higher.
    First, my setup:
My computer is a zepto znote 2425w.
Im using forceware v 169.28. Im using this version because i think it's the one that works best while eliminating the texture bug in CoD4.
    Bios: 123B.
    CPU: Core 2 Duo T7200 2 ghz.
    RAM: 2 gb PC5300.
    HD: 80 gb 7200 rpm.
    winXP 32 bit.
Oh, and before i began overclocking i used a vacuum cleaner to clean the cooling system. This alone gave a nice boost in performance :)
I use rivatuner for overclocking, speedfan for monitoring and 3Dmark06 for testing along with CoD4. 3Dmark06 is running in 1280x800.
    3Dmark06 score with 350/350: 1878 points.
    500/450: 2521 points.
While monitoring my system at 500/450 the GPU never got over 56 degree C. I have tested with CoD4 for a couple of hours of testing and with a run of 3Dmark06. I have never seen an artifact (as i have never overclocked before, i used the description of an artifact found on wiki).

    My main questions are:
How far can i go without damaging my system?
Will my system provide me with sufficient feedback that i will notice before i overclock too much?
How can it be that i can go higher than the people i have read about in this thread (sorry, didnt read all 31 pages)?
    Thanks for any answers :)

As that was my guidance for starting to overclock my GPU, i did :) but i must have missed something.
After rereading: I guess the answer to the second question is yes, as long as i increase small steps at a time. And first question is noone knows, ill have to figure it out myself. And after reading some more of this thread i found someone on page 27 with the same overclock as me. It seems like the newer bios versions allow higher overclock than the older?
Sorry for asking questions that i could have found the answer for myself. Im a bit worried about tweaking my GPU and really dont want to make a stupid mistake that would ruin my system. As such im looking for confirmation that the thoughts above are correct and not false conclusions.
This question is of the same type - i have read something about it, but would like to have my conclusion confirmed. How high can the temperature go before it can become harmful? I have read somewhere that anything below 60 degree C is fine, is this correct?
    Thanks for your time.
Edit: I did some further testing. When taking the memory to 460 i noticed artifacts in the first test in 3Dmark06 and aborted. Taking the core to 510 i ran 3Dmark06 and didnt notice any artifacts. score: 2547 points. The GPU got to 58 degree C. Oddly i noticed that my CPU was hotter too because of the GPU, and it got to 60 degree C. I tried to take the core to 525 (the max rivatuner allows) but got a system lockup in the first test. I think i will stick to the 500/450 configuration and test it for a period of time.

We answer all emails to [email protected] within one business day. If you are not getting a reply it is probably because either your email, or our reply, is being caught by the regrettable spam or virus filters that we all have to use.

We spend a lot of money to offer you Customer Service representatives that are available to take your call 24 hours a day 7 days a week (except Christmas day). The phone number is on the bottom of your laptop.

When you don't get a reply to an email request, please check your spam and virus filters, and if you don't find a reply there please pick up the phone :)

Oh, and my friends call me Donald, and you are welcome to do the same :D

We do not include any bloatware in our systems. You will only find the software necessary for your DVDR and other hardware components, and the OS if you order one.

Bloatware will only be found on machine's like ACER, ASUS, DELL, MSI, HP, Packard Bell, Gateway and Compaq.
Compal is only making drivers for the supported Hardware inside the notebook no extra software is designed.
So if any bloatware is detected this is then installed or delivered by the vendor.

Most people do not consider bloatware value added....rather they consider it a pain in the neck that they have to remove and then install the software THEY want...particularly since most of the time the antivirus is Norton, by Symantec, which is one of the most hated and feared programs on the market, or McAfee which falls in the same category. You won't find many powerusers that will want either one on their machines.

The true market differentiator is the one that doesn't load all that junk on their custom built laptops. It is only the Multi National Brands that load them up with bloatware, mainly because they get paid to do it.

    Overclock Core: 460 / Memory: 480

Using Riva Tunner and driver:179.13 (latest from laptopvideo2go).

    3dmark05:
    4052 3DMarks
    5671 CPUMarks

If i push core more than or equal to 480, it seems to work fine but after 2min, more or less, the screen frozens and the driver resets, so i think this is the best oc for me.

My laptop is a compal hel80 with nvidia geforce go 7600.

    Default values: 350/350.

    Thats all. :p

    Wawy.

PD: Oh, thats my first post :p. Hello people :), i wish we could have fun together :D.

My overclocking options only allow me to go up to 400MHz core!! whats the deal?
The highest I can clock to without the "test settings" control panel telling me to lower the freq is 400/437

    hello

    i have a question about oc-ing the 7600go

when you oc the gpu to f.e. 400mhz will it only have the 400mhz in 3d full performence mode and will it clock down to re the regular 200mhz in 2d mode,

or is it alway gonna run an the 400mhz? wont this cause thermal problems?

Kost, the overclocking stays on all the time unless you turn it off. But it doesn't matter, the card won't overheat.
