Post 3000! LOL - I deleted post 3000 so I could put it here..this was 3001 and I felt the original 3000 was a waste.
I'm celebrating! Woot.

Nice, a new shiny light green box
I'm painstakingly close to my third light green.
I've decided to just get one Intel X-25E with a 320Gb 7200rpm HDD as secondary and get an Archos 5
You gotta have it all -
heck yeah..but, that's smart thinkin
Best of all worlds.. Lemme know what you think bout that SSD!
Side note - I just found out why I got a lil greenie.. I had 8 reps in 24 hours..guess that put me over the top -
nice you a popular man
-
If you want a sick SSD (or a Pair), wait for the OCZ Vertex 2 series:

I wanted to get two g.skill titan 256gb SSDs, but the Vertex 2 seems insane; it would even make use of the new SATA 3.0 interface. But hey, maybe G.skill and others might come out with something as competitive; I like to synergize different brands when building machines, whether a desktop rig or a notebook. -
oh yeah, im liking the file transfer numbers allot!! -
-
so 1 drive uses 4 platters as singles with with an onbaord raid controller?
hummm, any pricing on this thing yet? -
No, Vertex2 is still in development. Vertex will be available soon.
There are no platters in an SSD, it is just NAND chips and a controller
The machine at CES had 4 regular Vertex drives, simulating the potential throughput of the Vertex2. -
ahhh, ok makes a bit more sense then. thanks ryder
your right about the platters. i was thinking old school like a dummy.but yes. nand chips
-
Congrats johnksss, thats a beast of a machine you have. I envy you.
But i thought KN had the highest score at 17k. whatever happened to that? -
thanks.
as to k|n with a 17k machine...it was never substantiated at the time..they have a 16.5 right now and climbing.
e wrecked has a 16.6 and climbing
and now there is someone else that has a 16.9 and climbing.
so far he has me by about 61 points @ 1280x1024
but i still hold all the rest. and that includes gaming benchmarks as well.
but the way these 4850s are running..looks like i better smile it up now while i still have those records...hahahahahahaha
because a 4870 just might send me packing..hahahaha -

seems to be the same guy you're referring to methinks (Style Note/Chinese Gamer).
But yeah. Now a days, Vantage is the mark of interest. 06 is more for DX9 comparisons, which is still valid seeing as some games and game developers still use that API, and in ways where it's very hard to tell the difference vs. Dx10 quality wise. -
he just named himself and just posted that 17k less than 10 minutes ago.
-
ughhh gosh E you better get to fixing this or imma have to ditch the thread!!!!!
i cant side with the loser s lol
