I cannot read anything.

...I can read it... Anyway if you choose to keep both hdd in the laptop while insgalling you'll have to choose guided-use entire hard drive and then select one of the hdd listed under that option.
-
Ok, that's exactly what I was talking about, a menu that would identify and give me the choice, thanks.
-
So how did it go?
-
I was about to burn the cd and nero told me that I needed a CD-r/w instead of my DVD-r/w, so I'll get to go get some cd-r/w tomorrow.
-
Funny, I burned the cd iso and my burning software never complained...
-
What did you use, CD or DVD?
-
You can use either a dvd or cd to burn the ISO image. I am guessing nero want to be conservative? My current 8.04's live disc is a dvd but was burned from 7.10 (ran out of cds).

-
I used a cd-r/w and I have Ubuntu 4.04 on cd now. Tomorrow I will do the incredible adventure, I'll keep you posted.
-
4.04??? That'll be an interesting adventure indeed ^^...
-
Hahahahah, I meant 8.04. I haven't be able to do it, I need more time, I'll try it tonight.
-
I think Wirelessman fried his laptop ^^....
-
Nope, I run Ubuntu from the disk to make sure I liked it before putting it in my second HDD, and this is my feedback. Somehow it couldn't manage the network adpaters, it said they were taken, something like that.
I'm going to keep working on this mode for a while until I'm sure I want it, then I will put it in the HDD. -
-
Broadcom for ethernet and 4965AGN for wireless.
-
-
I take your word, but when I run Ubuntu from the disk it just didn't.
-
What does the message say exactly? And why are you trying to do before getting that message?
-
I was just fouling around with it, and I noticed that the adpaters were in the top right corner so I clicked on them and I saw that message, then I tried to open FF and it didn't work.
I'll try again in a minute and tell you the exact message. -
I tried it now and I had to enter the right parameters and it worked.
-
So the new 8.04 detects everything out of the box ?
-
I guess it does, I just had to enter the SSID and the WEP key and run very good. Something strange though, it found an incredible strong signal of a wireless network that my other laptop would not detect. This siignal was full and much sronger than my own base station in my house, I'll find out where is it coming from today.
-
Aliens!
Take out the tinfoil hats!
-
Hahahaha, you know is scary and dessapointing at the same time, this is microwave polution, I should not get such strong signal inside my own house. The 2.4GHz frequency band is the ISM band which is for unlicensed services, which means we don't need a license from the FCC to operate in it, but you must not interfere with other existing services, if you do so then I can force you to close your service. A very strong signal can certainly ruin your own reception so I'm going to do some tests to see who is the alien and fight him back.
