    That's actually Vista in performance mode. If it were XP, his scores would be roughly 1K higher than on Vista based on what I've seen with Futuremark benchmarking programs.

    edit: nevermind, I forgot XP has classic mode too :p

    Maybe I was missing something. If I were right about the FSB, you are talking about 9.5 as the original Multiplier ratio:

    2.53GHz/266MHz = 9.5

    266MHz * 12.5 = 3.325GHz

    Well if you choose 12.5 you should get 3.325GHz for your QX9300 right?

    No it doesnt start at 9.5 at 12.5 it Equals 2.8
    I am going to hit the 16k Barrier within the week in 3d06- Thats my goal. Already got a 15.1k in Vista

    alpha, post a CPU-z with this next run? Are you pumping the FSB? And, what Windows Power Mode are you using? Performance? And I dont mean CCC mode..

    Could you post a CPU-Z of your system? If that's really the case, the FSB you were using was just about 220MHz, which didn't seem to make sense.

    haha well i can already tell on vista its not getting a 15k score. Yeah right vista is like the new windows ME it was a new os look how well that one did. Ive got nothing against vista cept for the interface and permissions stuff. It seems after sp1 the gap between xp and vista is minimal.

    hoop is at like 15.1@q9300/mobile and mark 15k@x9100

    that's because you have to play around with a few things... :) i cant give any true insite into that because im not running dual 3870's, but give E about a week or so to play and he should have quite a few tricks up his sleeve....

    although that core optimization has me still curious :D im always open to new optimizing techniques.... :)

    alpha, I OC'd with e-magic. It's amazing.. Sorry, but until I hit 15.1-15.2 and up.. then I can't divulge any secrets. I will, however, tell you that I had no luck using the PLL and Clockgen..cause I couldnt find the PLL :p

    lol.. hoop, no.. you may be the hare, but I am the tortoise.. I will plug along for the next couple of weeks... posting some scores and benchies here and there. And then I'm gonna come out and announce that the new 3dmark06 record is 432,098.44 with this thing. Not really, but I will take things one step at a time.. and not gonna put all my eggs in one basket. Sorry for 2 sayings in one statement. That's kinda lame.

    Yea I stopped messing with 3dMark I have a few nice tricks up the sleeve if we are racing for Max 3d Mark scores jsut want the rules and outlines for the race.

    I mean if we go balls to the wall with no limits then the Sub Zero Overclocking guns would have to come out.

    Ok, I miss understood the talking about breaking the 15.1k mark=) I pretty much stopped messing with 3d06 altogether. after the point of 15k but I heard 16k and I know this laptop can hit it.

    Then, lets see it posted bro. I know you got the FSB pump in there somewhere..u had it boosted in your earlier tests..do that, plus the multiplier OC..and you got it down. Pump FSB to 300, and then max out multiplier. Also, you may wanna run with your laptop upside down so you can feed dry ice into the CPU and GPUs.. otherwise there may be issues.

    EDIT: hoop, you talk bout this cooiling mod.. can you show me w t f it is? I mean, you showed me your Credit cards..this is a small favor in comparison.

    the 15.1k was with the FSB up. the 14.7k (i think thats what it was) was with no FSB OC at all.

    I think the temp numbers it runs pretty much speak for themselves. It is marks work not mine. So if he would liek to show them off you will have to ask him Im not going to pump it out on the internet for it to be copied.


    And the CC's were blocked out in certain areas just to prove identity.

    But I hope you achieve your goal and will be kinda cool just to push them within reasonable limits.

    Im in no rush to hit ridiculus marks. I like the stable sustained marks.

    Good luck on the 15k+ mark. Im sure you will beat it within a few hours or days. The laptop can push it.

    Well, already past 15k.. Now looking towards 15.3-15.4k.. maybe 16k in the next week or so.

    I mean, from my 1st run of 14.6 to just over 15k in a matter of a day and a half..one day of which involved loading files and programs from previous system..I think that's a fair goal.

    Yes but teh Duel core can be cranked up so much higher in OC's, I I were Ocing the FSB on the x9100 the way I am on this wold be around 15.3K or so

    I hae a great video driver. and I have the PLL i just need a better program I think. Let me hoow you up with the PLL as Im not trying to be an ******* even though I may come off as one.

    Theortically the x9100 should crush the qx9300 as it just has a better Bios overclock and its CPUs can OC like crazy

    maybe..but look at marks score as well...his matches E's (meaning. mark's is higher, but the sm 2.0 and 3.0 match pretty close) they both have x9100's

    edit: so something is getting lost along the way... just an opinion and not a statement of fact...yet.... :D

    no sweat.. but, I dont have the PLL yet..going thru trying to find it now. Trial and error. so if it locks up, i'll brb. and Intel proved that, theories aside, the qx9300 should smash the x9100 with the proper BIOS.

    john..he FSB pumped. I didnt. But, when I do I will be smashing that one too. Non-lab conditions, of course. I prefer living room conditions.
