But getting hold of them is impossible. K|N has been trying for months, and they keep giving him the runaround

I've seen a spanish, uk and german keyboard in my hands. And I known that some vendors have keyboards in stock.
-
Uhm, time to edit the list to, uhm, NOBODY?
-
i recc trying to order a replacement one from alienware as they seem to have stock on the different language ones and its literally the same thing with different style keys
-
Personally I hate those alienware keyboards but I also dislike the alieware design. The only thing I like more in the alienware it's the mate finish.
I wonder why only very few vendors have another language keyboards available. -
??? the alienware keyboard is EXACTLY the same thing the only difference is each key is outlined around the letter or numbers where the light comes through and they have different font. nothing more. they are even the same part number on the keyboard itself. i have used the alienware in the ocz and visa versa they work perfectly in each other.
im not sure about not having all the different languages though. but i know they have been out of stock and are VERY hard to get. the uk one for instance was a 2-4 week backorder as of last week and now they will not be ordering more of them at all. -
this thread is kind of pointless now
its so sad

I wonder what happened to OCZ whitebook at Xoticpc? It does'nt seem to be available. Just wondering why? Maybe they stopped selling them?
-
That's kind of what we have been talking about. OCZ, the distributer for the manufacturer (Flextronic), have had a falling out and the resellers (like XoticPC) can no longer get them,
Well, look at the bright side, the most painful thing about buying a new laptop is watching the price fall and fall until you start kicking yourself for spending so much--now, all the Whitebook owners can rest easy knowing that no one is getting it any cheaper than they did -

Guys, it seems that RJtech and XoticPC doesn't sell this Arima W840-DI anymore.
Or they just have empty stock?
I live outside USA, so RJtech and XoticPC might be my only hope to get one of this. -
no they do not sell them anymore at this time.
-
I thought OCZ/Arima has been testing ATI HD4870 MXM card upgrade for this laptop?
Is this temporary or just waiting re-stocking?
Btw, I read about OCZ and Arima current situation, but what make me confuse is:
OCZ still listed this laptop in their site. And people keep asking the 4870 for this laptop and get answered that the 4870 is in testing stage. -
ocz will NO LONGER STOCK OR SELL THIS NOTEBOOK period. the 4870 is testing by arima NOT ocz. ocz is now only handling warranty for those they sold.
the m17 is the same system from alienware so it will not be up to arima to release the 4870. ocz will not -

it sounds like your yelling. Lol. (i maybe would to)
thanks for the info -
I use to do that capital letter thing when i want to emphasize on some of my statements.
Thanks for the info guys. -
Guys, have a question here...
If we buy Arima W840-DI/Alienware M17/whatever and we didnt choose to purchase a TV Tuner, we wont get Video-In and CATV-jack in the laptop, correct?
But the TV Tuner that Alienware (and other vendor in the page 1 list) offers is an external USB TV Tuner, not mini-PCI. so, what is the "connection" ? -
As for the USB TV Tuner, the input jacks are on the external tuner, which is in turn, connected to the system via a USB connection. -
WOW, 840 is back on xotic pc

guys, another question here...
The HDD placement in W840-DI make us able to dispatch 1 HDD without turn-off the system (Hotswap is one feature of SATA HDDs).
Any of you ever try this?
In some other dual HDD laptop, this is not possible due to HDD placement in the laptop (the HDD is stacked). -
ocz got some stock back in from larger companies like newegg but they have VERY few and will be gone quickly

Anyone selling their OCZ??? pm me!!
thanks -
for those wanting an OCZ whitebook aka AW M17.
cyberpowerpc has them in stock

I know this is an old topic, but I need some help desperately. I have an OCZ 17" DIY w/dual gfx and my power adapter died shortly after I get deployed. I have attempted several times to contact OCZ and get a replacement, but they have been less than helpful. The problem is that my power adapter does not have the 4 din pins or whatever the hell they're called in the connector that mates to the notebook. It's just one round hole sort of like an audio jack. All I can seem to find if the 4 din pin model. Can anyone point me to the proper adapter so I can get my comp working again?
The model number of the adapter is Li Shin Sager #0405B20220 -
OCZ stopped dealing with the laptop due to a breakdown with the ODM
That said, you didn't get the notebook from OCZ, you got it from a reseller (OCZ does not sell notebooks directly to people).
What does your reseller say?
Xoticpc still sells this notebook under the name EXTREME 840
They will have an adapter for you.
FORCE EXTREME 840 (Built on Flextronics / ARIMA W840 DI / W840DI) OCZNBIM17A -
I purchased it from Newegg. I figured OCZ would at least be able to point me in the right direction, but I can't even get a response from them.
Thanks I'll check that out. -
Looking for this Arima W840 barebone/chassis. Does anyone know where I could get one?
-
Maybe the distributor can point you in the right direction
