Sager has just released the new Sager 2092. It is built off of the Compal JFL92. They are in stock and expected to start shipping by the first of next week.

The main differences between the 2090 and the 2092 is
    1)Penryn Processor Support
    2)Return of the Matte 15.4" WSXGA+ :)

Justin and Donald, can you verify that the internal microphone of these new units records fine without noise interference? Thanks.

Simply use the built in Sound Recorder.

Are you planning to offer the JFL92 in 'barebones', as you do with the IFL90? If so, when will this be available?

    Thanks!

Are you aware of the screen change, meaning the brand.
I have the old Compal IFL90 and the new JFL92.

Did the screen brand change? What was the old and what is the new?

Is the new screen as nice as the old?

    Was the picture uploaded somewhere?

I hope to find out more because I'm thinking of getting a JFL02 and one of the reasons is because people said the IFL02's monitor is nice.

The screen bright......... is better on the OLD Compal IFL90.
But the quality of the NEW Compal JFL92 is great, it feels great for your eyes sounds maybe stupid but i don't have to squeeze it now.

The only difference between the two models is the warranty that comes with the system. The machines are the same other then the warranty difference. :)

The Sager NP2092, Xoticpc's Force 3928, PowerNotebooks.com's PowerPro P 11:15 all use the Compal JFL92 shell to build their branded versions of this laptop.

Please understand that the barebones model is the Compal JFL92. Compal is the ODM (Original Design Manufacture) while Sager, Xoticpc and PowerNotebooks.com are the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer).

Therefore asking what the difference is between the Sager and the Compal confuses the fact that the Sager NP2092 IS the Compal JFL92 shell after they custom build it, brand it and warrant it.

For a more complete understanding please read this short article... Let's talk about the concept of 'Name Brand' as it applies to laptop computers

Excellent link paladin, very clear description of the differences between NMB, ODM and OEM, it's true that it is confusing for consumers. I think this should be very clear stated in the invoice somewhere because the product source will somehow impact the quality and support of the product. I don't know if you saw my other thread, but I have a shell without all the stamps declaring that my laptop is compliant with all the regulations here in US, this is very scary.

Correct that's why my system the BTO 15W26+ is the Compal JFL92.
The base is using the sticker with the FL90, but the test and warranty garantee me it's the custom build JFL92 also known as the Santa Rosa Refresh.

The FL90 is also going with the name FL90 SRR (Santa Rsa Refresh)

THe CPU ID is detected by myself when I opened the notebook and removed the cpu cooler unit.
Before I opened this i contact my vendor, with approval to not loose my warranty.
So check the other topics, I uploaded some pictures for more detais about the new design.

Correct, but for some reason in Europe a few SRR models (Santa Rosa Refresh) are delivered with the LG screen.
Confirmation from Comal & Marasst verify this will change in the new badge with the FL90 replaced for the new FL92.
Meaning the new JFL92 will all be delivered with the Chi Mei N154Z1-L01 Monitor ID CMO1520.

I hope this will be the the same here in Europe.
