I don’t think it has to do with the output of the laptop. I game with it closed and two external monitor outputs and I have no issue with it pushing out performance. I even ran hwinfo to ensure it’s drawing the proper amount of power.

Quick question: Would I be able to use 2 nvme drive at the same time? I switched the factory drive to a larger one. So the new larger drive is in the lower slot and the factory drive is in the top slot. The bios recognize the larger, but not the factory drive. Says the other slot is empty. Secondly, I am able to boot into the new drive just fine. There should be no issues with either drive as I am still able to boot into the factory drive by itself.

Yeh been watching it as i eat dinner, a fabulous review, as expected! Only bummer is that he only had the two 15" versions, and not our 17", but he prefers the smaller size. The temps and in the case of the rtx 2070 the performance will be better with the 17", but otherwise its a very helpful and informative review as usual.

He also has an unlisted video in the description discussing EluktroBoost, things we shouldn't discuss much publicly lest we risk our Amazing Feature. Took me a while to figure out exactly what was going on, but after heavy testing and benchmarks, i have a solid grasp of things. Tldr the Hype is real, a truly game changing feature.

I've been able to get things to the point where i don't even power limit throttle much more than half the time in Unigine Heaven with a massive undervolt on my 1660ti from the stock 1.05 volts to just .925 volts, and with an overclock to 2070 Graphics Core ( +135 over max base of 1935, +240 in Msi afterburner voltage curve relative to stock) as well +800 memory overclock-
    [IMG]
Here is with it power limit throttling here and there a few seconds later, but maintaining about 2055 clocks permanently (slightly lower than 2070 max due to the "high" temps of mid 50's lol) - [IMG]

My preference for 15 inch laptops is irrelevant and this is what the company sent me. They outsell 17 inch laptops by a landslide.

Personal preference in this situation if I were to buy one of these it would be the 17 inch model with the 1660 TI with some liquid metal and I would call it a day.

If they brought the sale back on that model for 1250 I would consider picking it up myself.

Yes and no. You can use two M.2 drives however only one will work at nvme speed. The location that the factory drive was installed is the 4 lane slot that will support nvme. The second slot will support most M.2 drives that use the SATA protocol, and should work with nvme drives as well with one caveat. It will only use 2 lanes and be limited to SATA speeds, so if you've bought a second nvme drive for that slot you likely overpaid and would get the same performance from a cheaper SATA protocol drive like a crucial mx500.

A big thing to understand if you don't already is that NVMe isn't an interface, it's a protocol like SATA. M.2 is the interface that can support a wide variety of hardware.

With all thay said and understanding that the factory drive will now run at lower speeds in that second slot, you could probably get the drive to show up after it's reformatted. Is it discoverable in disk management? It likely needs to have that reformat done or there is a conflict of the drive path.

Oh i just thought that maybe you had requested the 15" inch models, since I've heard you in other videos discuss how you like them. As i wrote in a comment on your review, no doubt the 15" inch models in general sell more than 17", hence they are the default size for laptops/gaming laptops.

Interesting that you would opt for the 17" with 1660 ti. I can say that its been a real pleasure, and temps and performance have been fantastic for the $1250 deal pricepoint (+25 for Master Gel). Often times 17" cost more for the same specs, and 15" also can be found on sale more often, so it's not surprising that the 17" newegg deal i posted ( https://slickdeals.net/f/13053229-e...ue-1660-ti-and-i7-9750h-gaming-laptop-1249-99 ) blew up alot more than the 15" newegg deal - https://slickdeals.net/f/13061746-e...60ti-i7-9750h-512gb-ssd-144hz-ips-f-s-1249-99. 39k views versus 15k views, +97 Deal Score versus + 19. I am pretty certain that in that case the 17" sold more, even-though 15" would win in a landslide generally.

Sadly i don't think the sale for $1250 will be back soon, because as is Newegg was subsidizing it in order to make the sale happen in the first place. Best bet if one has spare stuff such as Ram/Ssd's, or wants to get their own, is to just go with the base upgraded model at $1200 - https://www.eluktronics.com/MECH-17 . The $50 more for a 512 gb adata s8200 pro nvme, 16 gb of ram, windows 10 , and the Luminosa mouse and mouse pad (thing is too massive) was quite worthwhile though.

Only slight bummer i've had is that after "upgrading" my Ram to these 2 16gb sticks i had for a couple years (where i bought- https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820232189 , official page- https://www.gskill.com/en/product/f4-2800c18s-16grs ), that are supposed to be 2800 mhz, are only running at 2400, and not the 2666 max that the laptop should handle (and that the base ram sticks were running at, albeit at c19 timings). I guess only if there was XMP support in the bios would i be able to run them at 2666 (or ideally even 2800), so that is what i'd have on my wishlish for the laptop. Bob noted that the Bios is pretty good for the Eluktronics Chassis, and it is, but the one way it could be improved Imo is having those Memory options.

Crap I forgot to state XMP! It was in my notes too lol.

I wonder how difficult that is to implement? Making sure higher frequency memory is compatible I’m sure can be a finicky process.

An i9 and a 1660 ti with a 144hz FHD screen would suit me perfectly.

I want the stronger CPU for video editing and a 1660 ti is more than enough for how I personally play my games.

They ditched the i9 as it didn’t sell and cost them $$$ more on their end vs the i7.

Ha, good that i mentioned it then, even if was a bit too late to make it in the review. Still it seems pretty rare for laptops to have memory options/XMP in Bios these days.
I have no idea how difficult it would be to implement. I do know that with the Area 51m, it has been stuck at a sad 2400mhz limit, eventhough the sticks that come with it are 2666. Alienware has been "working on it" for months now to get it to normal speeds.. Next time i speak to Eluktronics Ceo, i'll bring up the Memory/Xmp thing. It's more of a Dream type thing, but if somehow they were able to implement it, would make this an even more compelling buy.

If there is any chassis at this size/weight point that can handle the new i9 8 core mobile processors, it would be this. I could use the extra clock speeds as well for Emulation, since it's super demanding on the Cpu. The 1660 ti on the 17" is truly the best option though in terms of value if one isn't interested in using Ray Tracing. However the rtx 2060 here really gets the most impressive uplift from EluktroBoost, and finally makes it resemble (somewhat) an actual Desktop 2060. The "normal" 80 watt tdp of Rtx 2060 laptop's should really be called Max-Q relative to reference Desktop 2060 at 160 watts. This EluktroBoost 2060 finally acts like a Max-P version should.

The “maxP” 2060 aka Eluktroboost edges out the 2070mq lol.

RTX biggest flaw is that they’re power hogs.

I spoke of the potential issues with this and how much variation we’d see because of it mid January.

I've thankfully been getting some playable RTX experience (minus resolution). Recorded at lower resolution unfortunately:

I get 50-60fps when not recording

Sorry to say XMP is not a feature we have any plans to implement. It is so easy to cause system instability. In some cases, the system would then need to be sent back to swap the BIOS ROM which we don't want to be an experience for our customers or ourselves. Also, I'm sure this is a debatable topic, but we found almost no improvements in gaming performance with higher frequency RAM. All of our chips we use for our RAM are actual 2666MHz rather than the typical 2400MHz chips that are tested for OC.

Doubting to take the RTX2060 or RTX2070. The RTX2070 consumes much more power, how does that express itself in sound from the fans?
I prefer a more quiet machine than the extra power if the difference is huge.

    Hi guys,

Sorry for behing more off, it's easy to set the mems at 2666mhz, we do it on our TongFang laptops, it makes a bit difference in performance and they are 100% stable.

Basically you just have to use Intel XTU to activate the XMP profile on the mems, save, reboot and that's it ;)
Then you can check with cpuz :)
It's also possible to change in the BIOS, but that's the hard way and more risky.

Holy Crap, this actually worked.. And not only was i able to get it to 2666, it actually went to the FULL 2800 mhz... I am shook. Here is proof... What the hell [IMG]
Now i regret putting as basically my only "Con" in my newegg review (obviously 5/5 rating) that there is no Xmp or memory options... This is madness. Umm, should i go back to my measley 2400 mhz? Is so much power really possible? I just hope this doesn't require intel xtu to be used any further, since i have read that it interferes with throttlestop, and that is my go to for undervolts and other cpu optimization..

You then can turn off XTU and the XMP profile remains saved and stay active ;)
Only if you do a restore setup defaults in the BIOS will turn it off and you need to repeat the process :)

You mean test some games to see if there is a min frame difference of 2400mhz (with cl 17 timings) versus my 2800 mhz (with cl 18 timings)? Don't really have modern games installed to do that test at this time, but won't rule it out in the coming days. For now i've done some cinebench 15 tests. Previously i was getting high 1260's, with 1269 max, now i was able to get high 1270's with the faster ram, so i feel like there was about a 10 point difference.
Here is 1279, finally equaling the top generic score on c15, this with a whopping -200.2 core undervolt, and -130.9 cpu cache undervolt - [IMG]
Somehow i was able to undervolt this Prodigal i7- 9750h the Full -250 for Cpu Core with Cpu Cach still at -130.9, as well as Intel Gpu -99.6 and iGpu Unslice -99.6 : [IMG]
Getting rid of Hwinfo64 i was able to get my top score of 1280 in Cinebench 15 with those settings- [IMG]
I'd imagine getting rid of more baggage would help me reach the elusive 1300+ range, now that my memory isn't bottlenecking me anymore. Still im more than happy with my Cpu (and everything)
Worked exactly as you said, was able to uninstall the actually pretty useful Xtu, and still maintain my boosted ram!! Thanks for the amazing tip, Repped!

This is groundbreaking stuff! I wonder if it can run even faster clock speeds...

If you want a truly maximum Cinebench score, you can actually set the task priority to high or realtime. Ctrl+Alt+Del / Details / right click Cinebench / Set priority. I did 1305 in Cinebench R15 with my 8750h.

Yeh it is amazing. I doubt that my Ram can run at higher clocks than the 2800mhz that its rated for, but even if it could, I'm more than content (ecstatic really) that i'm able to utilize it at full speed.
Your tip about running at Realtime worked well! Now got 1330 cinebench score! - [IMG]

You are right! Was able to find edit button under Write a Review of the purchase, and changed the "Con" of no Bios memory control to a Pro since it can run max Xmp speeds!
Yes i believe it's likely it will have the option, but as of now i don't see it. Hidevolution has the PB51 with i9 option though. I'm more than satisfied with my Mech-17 G1Rx though ;)

Downloaded R20 for you. First ever benchmark with the settings from before (Radical -250 Cpu Core Undervolt, and -130.9 Cpu Cach Undervolt etc) on Normal mode 3126 - [IMG]

Hefty undervolt. The 8750h that i had topped out at -100mV. But it was quite cool at the end.

Just pulled the trigger after BoB's review of the Mech 15, that one draws the same power with RTX2070mq with eluktroboost than the full RTX2070 on the 17".

    TongFang GK7CP7S:
    - Screen (without bright en dead pixels): 17.3" FHD IPS (1920x1080), 144Hz 9ms, 72% NTSC, non-glare LED (No G-Sync)
    - GPU: nVidia RTX 2070 8.0Gb GDDR6
    - CPU: Intel Hexa Core i7-9750H (2.60-4.50Ghz) 12Mb cache 45W
    - Cooling paste: Thermal Pad (CPU en GPU)
    - Memory: Kingston HyperX 16Gb DDR4 2666Mhz (2x 8Gb)
    - SSD: Crucial MX500 500Gb sata SSD
    - Wireless: Intel AC-9260 M.2 (1.73Gbps, 802.11AC) + BT 5.0

The thermal pads are graphite pads, I tried them on the Clevo P970 and they worked pretty well. So a new try. I hope that the keyboard deck stays a lot cooler with the Tongfang. The Clevo became very hot to touch around WASD area.

The 2070MQ even with the same power draw may still not be 100% equal to "full" 2070mq at 115w, but it will be close enuf. Still the EluktroBoost 2070 on the 17" which has the Full one will make it the stronger option. Not to mention the better temps on the 17 for both the Gpu (Allowing it o reach higher clocks, furthering the divide even further) and Cpu. Still if you want the 15" form factor its a great option. Otherwise the 17" is strictly better.

Yeh sorry i spaced, missed that it said 17" model in the specs, assumed after you saw Bob's review that you went for the 15". And yeh i guess u can't get Eluktronics to send it to you if you are out of the States, which is a bummer. Still i'm sure it will be a beast of a machine! And yeh when you get it let us know how the Graphite pads do on it relative to stock thermal paste.

I have tested the Clevo P970EF (i7-8750h with RTX2070mq) completly before sending it back and it performed very well. If the screen wasn't bend and the keyboard very hot to touch, I would have kept that one.
I will test this one in the same manner. I expect a bit higher temps because of full RTX2070 instead of RTX2070mq, or the Tongfang has a much better cooling solution. That is also possible.

I hope it can run with the same low FAN noise (Clevo was running on 53-55%) and the keyboard is not to hot.

Many, I’m sure, would like to see a comparison review of the Tongfang and similar Clevo. When I compared my current system with the Clevo PA71 in person, the Tongfang was the winner for me based on screen quality, keyboard, and thermals.

I will do my best to perform a one to one comparison to have a clear view between both.

I think I will recieve it next week or the week after. We will see.

Can anyone confirm or deny that there exists a GSYNC version of this chassis? Cause so far, I've only heard of this laptop being in optimus mode only and now someones telling me a reseller in the UK has a GSYNC version.

It's possible to soft-mod G-Sync if someone has the level of programming to do it. Otherwise Tongfang would be the ones able to add it hardware wise. G-SYNC results in the display forced on dGPU and iGPU being pretty much rarely used.

Hey guys been almost 10yrs since I last visited this forum cause that's when I bought my last laptop, but now that I'm looking for a new one I'm back for some advice, been going through this thread and it looks to me that this is a solid laptop. Ive been considering the eleuktronics mech 15 and the Alienware m15. I know alienwares/dells suck but it's that 4k IPSscreen that makes me want to go with that, I will be using the laptop for some gaming and mostly media consumption. 4k is a bit overkill but I'd have loved it if they offered a 1440p screen for this laptop. Anyway moving on to my questions,

    1. What's the battery life like on this with the 62whr battery, I'm not talking about gaming but web browsing, Netflix/YouTube in office mode

    2. Is it worth the extra cost to spring for the 9750h version? I've been reading about performance benefits through eleuktroboost and was wondering if a 1660ti with the boost tech would outperform the 2060 8750h in modern AAA titles. The 8750h + 2070 max q costs only 100$ more than the 9750h + 1660ti. I'd probably opt for the 8750h + 2060 version though. Or is it worth it to spring for the 9750h + 2060 model for eleuktroboost and the speaker improvements(I also wanna know how major these speaker improvements are, like I said media consumption is a top priority and I don't wanna have tinny speakers, although I'm coming from a 2011 MacBook air, so as long they're not too bad ill be fine)

    3. What's eluktronics return policy like? If I'm not satisfied with my purchase is it easy to return? What kind of restocking fees and processing times am I looking at?

    4. What's do y'all think of the keyboard? I don't mind a loud keyboard as long as it's comfortable.

    5. Does eluktronics.com not charge a sales tax for California, I've done the checkout right until I have to click place order but never saw any sales tax applied to my total.

    6. Any other issues with the chassis I should know about and keep a lookout for? I know the Dell/Alienware has tons of reported common issues but don't see anything on this thread for this chassis.

Edit : forgot one - 7. What's the performance like on the stock 500gb electronics nvme drive. Any idea what kind of nand and controller it uses? While customizing I see one option for the 500gb eluktro pro SSD and another one for the 512gb adata one. I'm most likely going to order on of the models which don't offer SSD customization and come with the "512GB (500GB Over-Provisioned) Ultra Performance NVMe PCIe SSD", is that the in house SSD or the a data model?

    1) Battery life isn't great from my experience. Maybe 3 hours if u have settings on low. I run with max settings and only get a couple hours of youtube stuff in office mode.

    2) Worth getting the 9750. Eluktroboost 1660ti is better than standard 80 watt 2060. Cheaper too.

    4) Keyboard is pretty awesome. First time using a mechanical keyboard, but its a joy. Not too loud either, and the Rgb is nice.

    5) Sales tax is only for Delaware where Eluktronics is located

    6) Best chassis ive ever used. Sturdy, not hard to access internals, temps are great.

    7) I got the 512 adata one. Can read reviews for it and find its specs- https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/adata-xpg-sx8200-pro-ssd,5955.html.
Over provisioned just means that if they are out of the 512 adata one, they will use their 500gb elulktronics one.

Here is mine nearly half full, temps normally at about 37, during benchmark mid 40's- Speeds would be higher if not as full, but generally it is solid- [IMG]

Thanks for the reply. I've been in touch with the Eluktronics sales dept about the return policy and it looks like they offer a 72hr return period where they don't charge a restocking fee. Its a little short but manageable, 3 days is enough to tell if you like a laptop or not. Now the only thing preventing me from placing the order right this minute is the screen. I like having a high res screen even though its mostly useless for gaming but I still prefer the higher DPI for web browsing, I'm one of the few gamers willing to sacrifice 144hz and low response times for a higher resolution. Is it possible to manually perform a screen upgrade for this chassis to a 4k or 1440p screen? There is a Bobofalltrades video on youtube for upgrading the screen and it looks fairly manageable(EDIT : Nevermind, looks like that one is for an older gen of the mech15) but I have no idea if it is just as simple as getting the right panel that'll fit and swapping out the old one. This uses the same screen as the Gigabyte Aero 15 and Razer Blade 15 both of which offer a 4k option. So a thin bezel 4k screen that could possibly fit in the chassis does exist but I have no idea if such a swap is possible. The model for the 4k display that the Gigabyte uses is AU Optronics B156ZAN03.1 (AUO31EB), a quick search revealed that its available on ebay for 150$ or so, but not sure this screen will fit the Tongfang chassis even though it fits other laptops that use the same 1080p screen as the Tongfang. There could also be possible bios/driver issues, again not entirely sure. Anyone have any info regarding this? Also does anybody know if Eluktronics is going to offer a higher resolution display upgrade in the near future.

I'm currently using a Dell XPS 15 9570 since my macbook air died on me a month ago, and this display has literally spoiled me, along with the build quality its the only saving grace of this laptop and also what has me interested in the Alienware cause that has the same screen. I'm going to return this Dell when I receive my new laptop, it is a display model from Costco that I got a great price on that I picked up solely to see how Dell was doing these days and to tide me over till I can decide on what laptop to actually buy.

Eluktronics sales dept and customer support is fantastic. 3 days return w/no fee isn't ideal, but i doubt it will take you more than a day to realize it's great value for the money.
I have had no issues with the 144hz screen. High refresh rate is ideal for gaming, that is in fact the main draw. I haven't heard anyone successfully "upgrade" the screen to 4k or 1440p. If u are dead set on those options (i would only consider 1440p to be semi-relevant, 4k is not ideal in laptop form factor, even for 17", and to hope to get 60 fps at that resolution you would need a Rtx 2080 with alienware 51m levels of performance on their 200 watt V-bios) you should probably look elsewhere, and expect to pay hundreds more.

I doubt that Eluktronics is planning on offering higher resolution display for this chassis anytime soon, albeit you can ask them via email.

I'd be wary of getting most Dell or Alienware laptops if you care about thermals. They have been rather poor in that department, with the exception of the Alienware 51m. If you do go for one of those, might be worth getting it from a Reseller like Hidevolution to get upgraded thermal options like Liquid Metal and Fujipoly Thermal pads. Expect to pay much more though.

If i were you and went for the Eluktronics Mech, i'd go for the 17. It's thermals and graphic performance is better than the 15", and it is surprisingly compact and sleek. Jarrod'sTech told me he will have a review of my model, with the 9750h and 1660ti, in the coming days, so you can see for yourself how well it does. I haven't even reached the limits of my machine yet, and im at over 17,100 graphic score with EluktroBoost on Turbo mode with a radical undervolt down to .868 volts (relative to the standard 1.038) at 1980mhz core clock and +800 memory overclock. I expect to reach a whopping 17.5k graphics score once i finish with my undervolt/overclock curve, a score that overclocked 80 watt rtx 2060 does not reach. Cpu has hit 17k plus before as well (can see that on an earlier page), but need to just find the best voltage for that- https://www.3dmark.com/fs/19403141

I understand that the 144hz is more desirable for gaming and most would consider a 4k/1440p panel to be a downgrade thanks to the 60hz refresh rate but still would be nice to have an option for a better non gaming experience(ie multimedia and web browsing). This is not gonna be a work machine and I rarely ever game on work days(mostly the weekends, so its gonna be a web browsing machine for 5 days of the week, I only need the extra power on some weekends) and I'm okay with gaming at 1080p on a 4k display. This all just comes down to personal preference. And yes I'm definitely leaning towards the 17in model after going through this thread. That thing seems to be a total beast when it comes to performance. And the fact that it is the same price makes it much easier to chose as well. A little disappointed that they have the same sized battery as the 15in as one would think the larger chassis could possibly accommodate a bigger battery, but oh whatever this is gonna be a desktop replacement with some occasional use in the bed, so battery isn't that big of a concern, I've been using my Macbook Air for the last 2 years with a completely dead battery that couldn't hold a charge for longer than 30min so the Mech 17 will still be a decent upgrade over that. And you dont need to tell me about thermal performance on a Dell laptop, I'm experiencing it first hand on my XPS 15 lol.

Thanks for all your help, this place is as great a resource as always and this going through this thread has definitely made me feel a lot more comfortable going with a relatively newer boutique manufacturer and barebones chassis. I remember when the Sager/Clevo barebones were all the rage, looking into their newer(and disappointing) offerings is actually what brought me here cause it looks like they still haven't hopped on the thin and light train.

Thankfully, I got my company to order one for me :D
I can't wait to get it!!!!!! (rtx 2070 + LM)
If you have a chance, please try an RTX benchmark i wrote that's eye candy and RTX r&d (curious how good it runs on rtx 2060/2070). On my 1060gtx i'm getting 2fps

Another quick question how long does Eluktronics generally take to ship an order? I'm going to go with one of their bundles with no additional customizations except for the Liquid metal for the CPU and Master Gel for the GPU thermal paste upgrades

I ordered my bundle deal from newegg, and Eluktronics shipped it out literally the next day, and it was with Master Gel thermal upgrade. Got it within 3 business days. No complaints, and packaged excellently. With you going for LM it might take a day or two extra***, but i doubt it would take more than a week from the day you order it to get it, and likely sooner.
Nice, your Eluktroboosted Rtx 2070 should be really powerful. Should even be able to get 60 fps on Metro Exodus with Rtx High. Speaking of benchmarks, that Metro Exodus one is what im using to gauge stability points on my Voltage Curve for certain clock thresholds. Then stable firestrike for extra confirmation. So been busy with benchmarks, but haven't done Rtx ones like Port Royal. 1660ti does okay with Ray Tracing relative to 10th gen (about gtx 1080 level), but ofcourse is no match for Rtx 2060 (and the only time 80watt non-Eluktronics Rtx 2060 laptops can beat it). My graphic card has exceeded all expectations, so it would be a bit of a bummer to see its one "weakness", the otherwise borderline irrelevant Rt features existent in just 3 games (only Exodus of which i'll try to play).

I've had 2 shipping experiences with Eluktronics in the last 2 months so I feel overqualified to answer this, especially since I live in CA like you. (Just to confirm, there is no sales tax for CA residents.)

First I ordered a 8750h+2070+LM upgrade on a Sunday morning with the Free Economy shipping. It shipped 8 days later on a Monday. I think the liquid metal upgrade increases the build time. Then, it took exactly 1 full week to arrive in CA by UPS Ground, for a grand total of 15 days from when I ordered to when it arrived on my doorstep.

However, during that time the 9750 with Eluktroboost launched, and I was convinced the upgrade would be worth it. So Eluktronics let me return the original, no charge, and I put in an order for the 9750h+2070+LM upgrade. I called and asked about the difference between Free Economy Shipping and the $7.95 Ground Shipping option and was told that the difference is that they prioritize the build of the Ground Shipping orders over the Free Economy Shipping orders, but that they both end up shipping by UPS Ground. The second time I paid the $7.95 shipping charge.

It took exactly 8 days between when I ordered the 2nd laptop and the day it shipped. HOWEVER, I called Eluktronics on day 7 of the build time and they upgraded the shipping to 2-Day air FOR FREE because they admitted the build was taking longer than they'd hoped because of the giant Slickdeals rush a couple weeks ago. Thus, I received my laptop in CA exactly 10 days after pressing the order button on their website.

Seriously, the customer service is A++. The half dozen or so times I've called an actual, knowledgeable person picks up the phone and answers all my questions. This is my first time buying from a boutique, and I'm 100% satisfied so far. The laptop rocks, too! It is the most pleased I've been with a laptop purchase in my life.

@Bauble, so you have the version I have ordered, but I will have it withhout elektroboost as European citizen.

Hoe are the temps, fan noise and such? Also temps of keyboard are good to know. I believe your version consumes 10W more.

    I’ve ordered 9750h with RTX2070 and 16Gb ddr4 2666MHz and 512Gb sata ssd. I will put a intel 660p 1Tb nvme ssd later on.

The temps are amazing so far. Sadly, I don't own Far Cry 5, Metro Exodus, or Assassin's Creed Odyssey, which were mentioned earlier in this thread as the games to try to really push the limits, but of all the games and benchmarks I've run so far (see my earlier post), the highest I've seen the CPU ever get is 82C and the highest I've seen the GPU get is 75C. Those temps were with auto fans, which aren't very loud at all. I don't have a way to measure keyboard temps, but it hasn't been warm at all.

Undervolting the CPU in the BIOS to -.125 and using the auto-generated Core Clock curve of the MSI Overclocking Scanner in Afterburner, here are some recent benchmark results.

    Fire Strike = 18112
    Fire Strike Graphics = 21524
    Fire Strike Physics = 17236
    Fire Strike Combined = 9014
    Final Fantasy 15 Benchmark High 1080p = 8866 (88.66fps)

I know Bob of All Trades said that the GPU Power was not being reported accurately in monitoring software, but HWiNFO64 reported that my 2070 was pulling 135.5 watts during that FF15 benchmark run. Thus, it's not surprising that my machine managed a whole 10.5fps more than the 78.1fps that NotebookCheck.net reports that a 2070 should be scoring, and I'm only 10.5fps behind what a full 2080 scores. I'm very pleased. :D

    Hello all

I am going to buy one of these machines! with the i7-9750h and RTX 2070.
I am in the UK so it's a choice between PCS, Chiliblast, Cyberpowerpc or XMG (Germany) - I am thinking Chillblast

    https://www.chillblast.com/chillblast-phantom-17-rtx-gaming-laptop.html

As this seems to be the only one which has a G-Sync screen - it is more expensive, but I don't really care lol.
Am I right in thinking it's better to have G-Sync? or am I just wasting money.
Also with regards to RAM I saw earlier in this thread you can unlock the speed to 2666hz - does this require the Hyper-X RAM with Intel XMP or can this be done with any make of RAM?
    Thanks in advance

G-sync would bypss the iGPU and will boost performance.

Ram is I believe with XTU or manual setting in bios.
