I believe standard -50mV, wheb throttlestop starts -100mV. So the test yesterday was with -50mV.

A couple days ago i did Windows 10 fresh install. I also installed all drivers from Eluktronics(they are a bit old) except Intel ME driver. Problem is - after some time in a sleep state the laptop wakes up by itself. Event Viewer says :

The system has returned from a low power state.

    Sleep Time: ‎2020‎-‎01‎-‎16T19:50:46.345551900Z
    Wake Time: ‎2020‎-‎01‎-‎16T21:51:50.012583700Z

    Wake Source: Unknown

    My laptop Mech 17 G1r:
    windows 10 ltsc
    core i7-9750h
    nvidia rtx 2060
    undervolt offset -110mV
    Bios N.1.52

I suspect that this problem is hibernation problem but I'm not sure. So should i install missing intel ME driver(in device manager there are no yellow triangles) or update bios(there is a new bios N.1.53 for schenker xmg neo 17) or turn the hibernation off?

My unit behaves similar due to USB being active during sleep/hibernation (something is causing an input or sometime related to RAM management after a really long period.)

So I just bought the 17" EVOO version of the laptop and I'm wondering if the new bigger battery would fit. It seems like it could since the wire harness on the new one have to run to the right and on the old one they run to the left, so moving the battery to the left because of the speaker/sub board shouldn't be an issue. Thoughts? This would be a great upgrade.

I have one on order that arrives in a few days and from my reading i was wondering this as well for the larger 90whr i read about that didn't fit in last years chassis. I was also wondering if anyone had done a screen replacement or upgrade on the 17" evoo 17 model. I would like to swap the gaming display for a 4k productivity display.

What size battery do you have on order? I was wondering if the person that tried it before tried on the 15" or the 17". I was also thinking that if it was close, then maybe it would be possible to modify the bottom case a little to accommodate it.

Id think the screen might be tricky unless there is a vendor doing that so you could get the part numbers, and the. Make sure you had the right cable.

I don't have a battery on order yet nor a screen. I just have been doing a lot of reading on similar models and previous attempts by people. I purchased the Evoo 17 that should be here wednesday so i can start taking measurements and research options. Screen wouldn't be too bad as its a standard EDP 40 pin connection from what i can tell. The mounting is really the only tricky part and it seems they use 2 sided tape or adhesive which is fine as I have done that kind of replacement before. Since the screen is 144hz 1080p it is guaranteed to be 40 pin edp as 30 pin maxes at 120hz screens.

Looking at the batteries compared here, the big battery is much thicker, so it really won't with. 62whr is probably the best its going to get.

Ahh that is quite a bit thicker, once i have the laptop in hand i will take precise measurements and see if i can mill or 3d print a base cover extension to accommodate the larger battery. The other option is i can dump the battery charge controller firmware or sniff the SBS protocol between the original battery and motherboard to then use a more appropriate fitting battery. I suppose the third and less fun option is just use my large powerbank that is 200whr. I will see once I get it and how much of a hobby project I want to make out of it.

If you can find a side view of the mag-15 or max-17 on the side, I can try to get measurement on my current 17" with it's lid to determine if it's possible without a lid mod.

btw, does anyone have a way to set the key color white? Choosing white in the control center app doesn't set it to white, more of a blue color.

might just be your unit that doesn't have the correct balance for true white color, to manually change the color, it's going to require editing the color and setting it with what ever value system they use, assuming it's RGB or HEX. or you could try to install other control centers to see if it corrects the colors.

I think someone set it to white by using one of the other compatible gaming centers. Or perhaps it was the Rev Center written by someone on this platform. Let me see if I can find the post.

My machine came in a day early so have it in hand. Quite a nicely built machine. It isn't much less rigid than my thinkpad P50 and about 1/4 the price of a new thinkpad p73 with the same performance. It won't be until thursday i do a tear down and measurements as that is when my ssd's and ram upgrades come in. Going to put 64gb and dual 1tb nvme ssd in it.

Has anyone been experiencing sudden complete shut downs on this laptop :( ? It happened to me when I was playing games like GTA IV or Skyrim (at max settings)....

I got it from https://www.win-raid.com/t4386f16-O...vo-MACHENIKE-Unlocked-BIOS-Guide-W-Files.html :) It's a wonderful tutorial which is not hard to do, but you HAVE to be very careful!

Did you undervolt your laptop? Too much offset could cause a sudden shut down.

Does anyone play overwatch on the 2060 version? I'm having a strange thing happening. When I first tried it the other day, I was getting 250-300fps. Yesterday I was around 100, even dipping under. My control panel is set to use the 2060. I tested Firestrike and got my highest score ever. And ideas of what to look for.

Regretably, no, not at all. I did it at some point using ThrottleStop, but I have reinstalled Winows a few times since then (I didn't even have ThrottleStop on my computer at the time of writing). I kind of doubt the CPU was undervolted at the time I ran Skyrim (this was quite a lot of months ago) either.

I actually set OpenHardwareMonitor to log temperatures to a file so I could see if CPU/GPU would be overheating at the time the PC shut down. Reading those logs, it looks like the GPU was at 83 degress (Celsius). This post mentions this is the temperature where the GPU starts to throttle (thought it seems to be talking about the PC variant of the GTX 1060): https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/gtx-1060-safe-temp.3030308/

I suppose both runs were while plugged in, no? Could it be that your GPU was overheating and throttling?

I've found a new battery that could potentially fit. It's 91 WHr on the new MAX 17: Getac PFIDG-03-17-3S2P-0. At first glance it looks noticeably slimmer than the 94 WHr on the MAG 15. I'm very tempted to get one and try it myself.

Your settings in-game were probably changed to be much higher. Sometimes OW randomly reset my settings to all Epic and 140% resolution scaling.

It gets thicker on the sides though. Idk. It is thin in the middle. I don't think it will fit.

I checked my ow settings and made sure it was low, how I like it. Idk. You on the 2060? What frames are you getting?

The sides just feel thinner than the 94 WHr battery on the pictures and videos. I think if you remove the pads on the bottom cover of the 17" it'll fit. I can only find the battery on a UK retailer though, so I cant test it just yet.

On OW, with 3.9 GHz CPU and 1540 GHz GPU, I play on all medium and get 144 fps capped consistently; minimums down to 110 fps on really taxing team fights.

Very interested in this upgrade if possible. My local stocks my country's version of the MAX17

This is odd. I have the 2060 and so far i've been stable in every game and benchmark i've run (AC Odyssey, Overwatch, Fire Strike, AC7 etc)

What drivers are you on? Any boosts enabled or undervolts set?

Idk where would the values would be, since I never messed around the new CC. There are CCs that can switch to the white keyboard color including the latest ones directly on mechrevo's site.

I'm trying to speed the animations that react to your typing such as ripple, spark or reactive. Unfortunately the gaming center slider isn't enough. When I type at at semi-fast speed, the keyboard animations are laggy.

On one version of the laptop, one slot only takes NVME and NVME only, other works with NVME and SATA.

In terms of animation speed, types, and colors, those I think depend on the version of the CC, the performance of the lighting under-load might have changed between CCs. The CC I'm using doesn't get lag under any typing or performance load.

When you say no lag. Even with 90+wpm? I might start fishing around for different CCs then and test out.

    Thank You

I tried the illegear but no success. Still so much delay between when I press and the light turns on :/ Beginning to think it's maybe my keyboard's firmware that is buggy or old...?

tbh it is better without a sub atm since current drivers don't use the subwoofer without causing crackles. There is a subwoofer mod guide somewhere online that'll show you how to if you want to try and make one, finding parts might mean asking companies to sell you the part.

The sound is so bad that you beter invest the money in a decent headset than putting a sub inside.
On the other hand, I don't suffer from crackling noises at all.

I have another problem, I never updated my control center but recently it changed behavior.
The fan speed seems to not spool up anymore, only when i boost it manually. Temps are still OK but much higher than before under standard settings. CPU went from 70 degrees and moderate fan speed to 80 degrees and low fanspeed.

Possible to use other CCs with any barebones? The Eluktronics one looks to have more options than the Illegear one. Would love to give the XMG one a shot as well

Today I have another 'problem', my Tongfang seems to be warped, but only when the lid of the screen is open. If you start to type, it is not flat on the table. (And the table is :p).
If tou close the lid, the laptop feels straight and doesn't move at all. Very strange.
I almost never use the laptop as a laptop, so I didn't noticed at all. Maybe my x-stand caused this... Are heat? But I never suffer from very heat components (mine never went above 85 degrees),

When I'm not using throttestop, the fan is getting loader. Maybe it alters something on values that I can't see right now.

So I've got a problem with my PCSpecialist GK7CP0S.
It developed a screen flicker just after Christmas so I sent it back for repair. They found a fault with the motherboard and replaced it, did their burn in tests and sent it back.
When I got it back all seemed well until I tried to launch a game. If the laptop is plugged into the charger the system hangs, the screen artifices and then crashes. If I launch the game on battery it'll run fine although at a reduced speed.
I tried everything I could think of. Fresh install of Windows. Removed the Nvidia drivers via DDU and loaded the ones from their website and nothingwould fix the problem.
I sent it back as a failed RMA as games launched fine before returning it for repair (I was using an external display for a few days while waiting for collection)
They told me it must have been a corrupted driver and that they'd wiped it and reinstalled the correct drivers and all was fine. When I got the system back it was still doing the exact same thing.
The strange thing is Furmark and Passmark are both fine with the graphics tests but Superposition fails as soon as you launch the test. Any game crashes the system be it on Steam, Origin or stand alone.
PCS are claiming it is a software issue and are refusing to do anything so at this point I haven't got a clue what to do.
Anyone have any idea what might be causing this?

    1. Reset undervolting
    2. Check temps when gaming
    3. Check power adapter voltage when gaming
    4. Install intel and nvidia drivers
