You are correct in that the ATI mobility HD3870 is a MXM-III slot, so it may not fit, but the new ATI Mobility HD4860, I believe will be more powerful than the current ATI HD4850 but will run much cooler so it may be using the MXM-II slot. I hope this helps. God Bless :)

Am I also reading correctly on the ZEPTO USA site that the NOX A14 is available with a 1680 x 1050 resolution ?? Would that be like a 15.4 inch screen and 1920 x 1200 ?? God Bless :)

Yes, you're right. The non-sale Nox A14 is showing WSXGA+ 1680x1050 ZBD, which would be very nice on a 14.1.

Can anyone from ZEPTOP USA tell us if any of the new and more powerful Nvidia or ATI cards will be making it to the NOX A14 anytime soon and if so which ones and when ?? Also if we are to purchase the existing current model, can we upgrade the GPU to the newest one when it becomes available ?? Thanks for any info. God Bless :)

we might get them when available. All our customers can upgrade to the newer cards. We'll notify all our US customers by then.

    FYI only Nvidia cards.

Too bad they won't use ATI as ATI has some cards coming such as the Mobility HD4860 which is supposedly much cooler as it is the new smaller die at 40nm and just as fast or faster than the current ATI HD4850 which is probably equivalent or a tad faster than the Nvidia's 9800M GTX. Question though, is there anything on the ZEPTO's that will prevent it from using and recognizing any of the ATI cards ?? BIO's on the motherboard maybe ?? Thanks for any info. God Bless :)

I too have been promised that Zepto will be selling new MXM-II cards when they will begin selling new laptop models with new GPU's. Check out my conversation with them at:

No, we tested ATI cards and it's running good, problem is that we can't get these cards.

We need to get these straight from ATI/AMD.... otherwise the units will be more expensive. € 260 = $335 (compared to a $229 for the 9650GT)

So the Znote has a better display? ;)

Seriously, thanks for the "real world" pic's of the Nox A14.

From my experience the Znote 6224W has a more greyish slightly grainy panel, where as the panel on the Nox, because of the crystal clear panel, gives a more vibrant image.

That's good to hear, the "better display" reference was a wallpaper joke, or so I thought.

Yes please. Anything would be great, really the only disadvantage of considering buying a Nox A14 is the inability to see one in person. Still, after much much research the Nox A14 is tops on my list. Would have placed an order already if they were currently available.

Does anyone know where I can buy this in the UK?

I didn't see it on the UK website or the few other UK stores I checked.

We are now taking pre-orders on the Nox A14 with docking support. Be quick if you need one, because we only have 100 units in the first batch.

I got my Nox A14 one and a half week ago (I'm in denmark) and I'm quite satisfied with the overall performance, although the heat fan noise is really annoying, spinning up and down all the time, even in idle mode..

My down arrow key has also already gone out of function, so I'll have to send it back soon which i find most inconvenient to put it mildly

I'll post a full review of the thing if any of you guys are interested

Welcome to the reality of the Zepto's owner, I have sent my machine back them twice (in 2 months) because of several problems.

Zepto _should_ be releasing new bios soon which _should_ make the fan lot less irritating, so I recommend checking their ftp-site in couple of weeks and updating your bios when it comes out.

    - First of all you have to remove three screws on your laptop (one is behind the HDD cover)

    - Thank you can use a little screwdriver and put that between the keyboard and the chassis (on the site of your touchpad) If you turn the screwdriver 90 degrees it wips out. And then you can see what's wrong, clean it and put it back in.

The keyboard is not mounted with screws on the back on the Nox model. You need to remove the Stripcover to get to the screws, but be careful to not break the stripcover when removing it.
