The manuals have been put up on the FTP site today apparently:

It took me a little time to figure out I needed the UK manual. Normally people put ENG in the name.
Page 16 answers the question about the ports on the right side. From left to right: Optical drive; wireless switch; 1 x USB 2.0, ethernet, TV antenna; power input.
And the left side, left to right is: Fan exhaust; HDMI, 2 x USB 2.0; headphone; microphone; volume control; Express card socket above memory card socket.
Another USB would have been good. Ideally the USB/eSATA combo port which is starting to become popular.
John
PS: The specs at the back of the manual indicate that integrated graphics and a 14.1" WXGA+ display are options. -
I can see the Anthea (white with Intel X4500) and Orion (Black with the X4500) has been released on the Danish site:
Orion A15:
http://www.zepto.dk/Shop/Notebook.aspx?notebookid=1075
Anthea A15:
http://www.zepto.dk/Shop/Notebook.aspx?notebookid=1077
No screen options on that one, so only 1280x800 available.
So I'm wondering when the possible 14" models will be available? -
Hey, they are fast :S
I just went to check the UK/ENG stuff you where talking about John, and they've changed it :| -

I'm not sure who would want to buy a 15.4" notebook with a 14.1" display.
I've noticed that the Nox and Nexus manuals are exactly the same size and have exactly the same content. Then I found this remark on page 3:

The time stamps on the files have also changed and Anthea / Orion manuals have also appeared. All the same file size as the Nox (and the properties say it was created 26 June, modified 3rd July).
John -
Well as far as i can see the manuals for Nox, Mythos, Orion and Anthea have all been collected in one manual (same goes for Nexus but that is not mentioned directly in the manual), which is a pretty good idea as they are pretty similar as it appears.
-
The Nexus has no bluetooth and a Fingerprint-reader and you can not change the display respectively the resolution.

That's a very useful comparison sheet. It needs to be linked to from the Zepto UK site. Perhaps a link to it on the page for each of the three notebooks on the sheet. There's also other missing info such as the Nexus datasheet.

New here! Hi everybody. I'm looking for years a notebook with an illuminated keyboard like the macbook pro but which is not macbook pro (i need no more than a 15"4 display and minimum 1680x1050 with a good GPU).
On the pictures, it may seem that the keyboard is somehow lighted. On the black Nox of course. Is that a lovely graphic effect or a reality? reflective painting? leds? photoshop?
I would say it's not a reality as nobody's talking about it, while it is (for me) a great feature only brought my apple (oh... yes... alienware!!!! 3000€ ...)
Any ideas? -
John Ratsey Moderately inquisitive Super Moderator
I've seen no mention of an illuminated keyboard on the Nox so maybe it is the photography.
Perhaps the new Dell M4400 workstation is what you are looking for. There is an illuminated keyboard option. However, I don't know what the nVidia FX770M GPU is the equivalent of.
John -
There's no illuminated keyboard in the Nox, no.
-
too bad!
I found once an ibm laptop with a LED flashlite on the top of the display case, able to slightly light the keyboard... an other solution.. Any notebook manufacturer here?
Thanks guys ruining my hope, and my day
ps: excellent notebook anyway! -

Some Nox benchmark results are here.

Illuminated keyboards on laptops today is quite rare, for several reasons (battery, space, and so on). I have a old IBM A15 with one of those scree-lights. But I cant say it would help me see any much.
The light from a screen with good brightness makes it uneccesary to have illuminated keyboard, as it lights up enough. -
Got mine today!
Here's a pic for you:

Thanks for the view of the engine room. It's nice to see inside.
Clearly some thought went into getting all the customisable parts under one cover. Plus easy access for users to clean the fan and heat sink every few months.
Is that a half height slot for the Turbo Memory module, just to the right of the hard disk?

Thanks for the info
I ordered the same day as you did, still haven't recieved mine -
Well the delivery of the machine is not just only about when you ordered, but is also dependent on if all the components needed for your machine is available when they pick your machine from stock and if it goes through testing without error.
-
post up pictures soon please!! I need to order mine within the new couple of days but I'm not sure it looks as stylsh/thin/nice as advertised. Looks is important to me.
-
scroll down a bit and you have some pictures there. -
I just purchased a Zepto Nox this afternoon. With the options I chose, the total came to $2099. However, the key selling point for me was the excellent customer service I received from Zepto in recieving what ended up being an 8% student discount (I emailed them in regards to this discount and they replied almost immediately, eventually getting me a custom made discount coupon within 10 minutes).
Let's hope everything turns out well! -
Oh, they offer student discount?
I know at least 4-5 students who has a Zepto, whom wasn't offered nor aware of that possibility. Thats great though, that'll help me when I purchase this baby(waiting for the dockingstation)
-
8%? wow, thats quite a lot, I think Im gonna take a look at what I could get set up for myself
-
Any news on the GPU upgrade?
-
-
he was talking to the US Zepto, looking at $
I just sent a mail to them about this too, Ill see what answer I get -
I also remember hearing about Zepto willing to give discounts to students.. But it wasn't a % discount, it was something like free change of 6 cell to a 9 cell battery + a free bag with the laptop.
This happened in Finland like 1,5 years ago. -
In the german Online-Shop of Zepto you can chose new options.
They have added the GeForce 9650M GT graphics card with a 1440*900 Display.
It's strange on the site of Zepto DK you can chose the 9650M GT with a 1680*1050 Display, its perhaps an error in the german shop. -
I think the screen size on the German site is an error because the Danish site is normally the one with the most correct information.
-
Hope 1440*900 is not an error, although 1680*1050 would be fine too.

by the way guys, would the 9 cell battery protude the case somehow or is it just more battery squeezed in the same form factor?
-
John Ratsey Moderately inquisitive Super Moderator
Therefore it is highly probable that the 9 cell battery sticks out. Usually by around 2cm or a little more (and adds ~0.15kg to the weight). If someone has got the 9 cell battery then they can give a definitive anwer.
John -
I think I read somewhere that the 9 cell sticks on 1.5cm.
-
i've seen that somewhere too.. 1.5 cm
ah i already ordered my nexus.. wonder if i still can get the new card.. it should be possible right? i mean.. they told me i'll be getting my laptop 4. sept. -
Gnazz, it should be possible to upgrade at a later time also.
-
cool, but since i haven't got it yet, it could be cool if they just put the new one in instead.. dont want to send it in later.. takes ages
-
Just contact them about that you want your order changed
much easier that way
-
I got the answer on my mail today. It was in danish tho I sent from the finnish site and on swedish (luckily I do understand written danish).
Answer was, 5% discount on normal priced laptops (all) for students. -
can u copy the mail ?
-
-
thx Sprint
okay its 5% thats not very much.. and since i bought it from Zeptoeksperten.dk they already gives like 4-5 % off normal prize -
I've talked to Zepto and they give a discount according to what configuration you buy, which school you go to ect., but only in the UK as it looks now. Zepto uses some special offers called "Student start offers" in Denmark on special configurations.
-
Hi guys,
I'm considering the Nox or Mythos A15, in fact its my top choice now cos the Asus G50V-A1 is out of my reach (unless i get a new high paying job :lol)
So just want to ask have any Nox/Mythos users experienced the Nvidia GPU heating problem? does ur laptop overheat when doing intensive stuff like playing games?
Much appreciated
Thanks -
very few people have the nox/mythos, and even few visit this forum
and about the discount, its 5% more than you would get without it
