Nope, that is just a waste of money to buy that card. Only like a 3% performance difference to the 9600M.
All my specs is just below.

    sorry did not read...

Performance will be improved with new drivers (maybe yet with the one you are using) and the best thing is about heating, at least i hope so :D

Coming back about the performance between the 9600 and the 9650

Zepto has tested their 9600 and 9650 with old drivers which gave 3D Mark '06 scores off 4950 and 5850 points...
So on their website they've said: 5000 vs 6000 points or a 20% performanceboost between those two cards...

Nowadays you have such good drivers that the 9600 scores about 5500 points and the 9650 still scores 5850,
and that's only a performanceboost about 6% like I mentioned before here in other posts...

Offcourse the 9650 is baken at 55nm and the 9600 at 65nm,
so the 9650 can be overclocked at higher speeds, they say, but we will see

And offcourse we can wait for a optimal driver for the 9650 itself :)

My own opinion: I only should buy a 9650 instead of a 9600
if the prices are very nice, and somebody let me see that the 9650 can be OC'd very very nice!

Just an FYI... we have a black friday special at www.zeptousa.com for units with both the 9600M and the 9650GT. :)

Well wouldnt it be better to sell those to Americans, i bet the shipping fee for sending stuff to Denmark or The Netherlands is way more expensive (Unless you just place the order, wich could then be done by anyone on their own).
And abit stupid because Zepto is Danish, and there already is a Zepto reseller in Holland.
Why should we order Zepto's stuff from ZeptoUSA rather than from our own national resellers or from Zepto directly?

The comment you made (and have made alot) has nothing to do with the topic on the performance on the two cards, all it is, is advertisement for ZeptoUSA and has therefor no value to the discussion.

Thought the quoted part is true, i think people here in the forum appreciate a representative of a manufacturer who is willing to answer to questions here in the forum and helping people.

He has been very helpfull towards me at least and wouldn't it have been him, i would've have not purchased the new Mythos i ordered yesterday.

Though i think advertisements don't belong in such threads as this, i'd like to thank him for all the effort he's been trough. Alas, ppl have been interested in his offers and have asked him about those in this thread, therefore it's not only his fault we have such a discussion going on. :)

I have my zepto nox A15 for about 4 months now.
In the beginning the fan went on once in a while and the hot air would leave the notebook on the left side.
Now, 4 months later, the fan is on continuously and there is no hot air coming out of it anymore.
And when i put my laptop down on a flat surface or on my bed orso it overheats in no time and gets real sluggish.
is there anyone else that is having the same symptoms? or is it just me?

Get a compressed air bottle and blow it clean... sounds like your airwents is clocked up.
So blow down in the keyboard, in the exit exhaust on the side and down under it.
And on a bed, you block the whole undersurface where it also draws cold air from to cool down the laptop.
And then it overheats and gets sluggish.

    Exactly.

People do not realize they are blocking the cooling system, and the people that do realize what they are doing do not care :(

It seems that my webcams video output isnt very clear when compared to other notebook webcams. It looks abit washed out and there are minor flickering when im using the webcam.

So far i havent had the opportunity to check out another webcam from a nox but compared mine to a acer webcam and mine is terrible.

I've also reinstalled the drivers for the webcam but the video quality output leaves alot to be desired.

crapp0: let me know when you find a better driver for the webcam. Mine runs with ~4fps (vista business 64bit) - hardly satisfactory :p

Most probably the reason why you get crappy fps is due to software issue rather then driver issue. My webcam had the same prob until i changed one of the setting on the amcap software.

You have to open the amcap software and then goto options-video capture filter and then goto the camera control tab. The exposure setting by default would be set at auto. Try to unclick the auto box for the exposure setting, that did the trick for me and i edited my frame rate at the "capture" setting which is next to the "options".

    thanks crapp0,

that worked. It's just that the image is now grainy dependent on the ambient light. Not the best camera model but then you don't buy a Nox for videocalls... ;)

    cheers

I realize at the ABOUT page that the AMCAP software is version 1.00, and probably at least 12 years old.

Is it possible to update it?

Oh, yours grainy as well?. i guess that answers my question of why the webcam is rather grainy compared to other laptops built-in webcams.

You'll most probably need to get third party webcam software for it. I like acers crystal webcam software, too bad zepto doesnt have its own webcam software and supplies MS amcap software.

Did I get this wrong or does the dvd burner only burn - drives? Does the combo blu ray/dvd-rw player burn both + and - dvds?

If you don't know what you're talking about, please do not comment. And you obviously don't. It doesn't help. Someone told me the DVD burner only supports - dvd's, and I want to either confirm or disregard that attribute.

Any of u guys experience the problem of your nox restarting due to playing games?

I've had this problem for sometime after installing fallout 3 and GTA 4 but i dont know whether its a problem with the laptop heating of its my environment which is a factor since my room does get quite hot, around 30C but never higher then that and i noticed that my cpu temp is 79C and my GPU at 89C when check the last temp reading b4 my laptop restarts.

Oddly enough, whenever i play rainbow six it doesnt have this problem. It only acts up when i either play GTA 4 or Fallout 3. Btw im using the coolermaster infinite notepad cooler and i i'm running on default graphics settings and havent overclocked it. Im also using nvidias laptop driver which i think is the 179.29 driver.

Hmm.. I have the latest Bios in my Mythos and there you can set the temperature when the GPU starts to throttle down to reduce heat.. I think it's 85 degrees unless modified.

I recently finished Fallout 3 with 1680 res, settings high. My temps were like 75 degrees most of the time. I too use a cooler, Zalman NC2000.

You could try raising the throttle temperature up to 95 or so, see if it helps. :)

I have the latest bios for the Nox A15 as well. I havent modified my temp so i believe its 55c for the fan to switch on, and 85 for some sort of throttle which i am not too sure what it throttles, is it the CPU or the GPU?

I'll try raising the temp but i believe i had tried that and it still restarts which is very annoying.

Well ive tried raising the throttle temp to 95 and it still restarts. I guess i gotta ask the tech support to fix it.

I found a retail shop which sells the same drive for 140€ excluding VAT.

Would that fit in my Mythos if i'd desire to purchase that drive later on?
