Do you or anyone knows where I can get my hands on a newer bios that fixes backlight issues with the TongFang GM5MPHW ? Basically ther Recoil IV, Mech 15 G3, XMG Neo 15 2020 etc...

It;s getting on my nerves I just want it fixed!

    Thanks Guys!

hi guys, i have the p7w version, bios is version n.1.01
hav the same issue with keyboard backlight
    i uninstalled gaming centre.
now keyboard backlight remains on from boot up into windows as i want it.
i set keybaord backlight to white colour in gaming centre. then uninstalled gaming centre, to be presise.
on boot up it cycles through colours in sort of ripple effect per key.
in windows it switches to standard white colour as i set in gaming centre.

my bios has no ram tuning section.

btw what would be a safe stable cpu undervolt ?

The lowest voltage you can achieve where you don't get any errors or freezes after running Prime95 for an extended period (several hours). The exact voltage will differ per chip, there is no magic number. I'm currently running the 10875H in my GM5MPHY at -0.150V.

I'm getting BSODs after around -0.09V which seems a bit on the lower side. Any thoughts?

Does anyone else have a little bit of flex in the bottom plastic cover? The Laptop doesn't sit flat when the screen is open. There is just like a 1-2 mm. gap between the surface and the rubber feet which causes it to wobble when I rest my hands towards the left side.

I'd keep it at -0.08V then. I got the most gains out of the first -0.075V and only very minor gains from there to -0.15V, so -0.08V may not be that bad.

I had the exact same problem with mine straight out of the box. I read some ppl get it after some stress testing. I solved mine by carefully bending it with the lid closed. Now it sits flush on any straight surface, no more wobble :)

    Hey guys,

I updated my bios finally !

I'm on N.1.06 for bios and 1.14 for the EC. This has fixed the issue of the backlight keyboard not turning on at boot and most of the crackling, popping audio issues as well.

I did notice that my fans seem to be running a little differently but it's not a real concern just an observation...

I have the PCSpecialist version of the GM5MPHW (10875H-2070 Super), no extra options like RAM tuning was made available in the bios.

I was wondering if you guys had any newer version than mine and if some vendor like Eluktronics has enabled more options for in the Bios that we could be using on our TongFang laptops...

    Thanks guys!

so i flashed bios from my vendor , n103 and ec is 114

    keyboard issue is fixed.
alot of research done on ec versions and bios revisions.
i think the keyboard issue could be linked to ec version , as some here has same biis revision but older ec revision and had the keyboard issue

also the various command centre software versions mite be a issue with certain keybaords, as i tested a cc from a different vendor and had no keyboard backlight options to choose from ,it was not a option to choose from
i then resorted to my vendors cc software and all good.

be carefull when flashing as if u currently hav ec version 109 you cant flash any bios version as the ec mite be older, i.e u cant resort to a older ec etc.

also , there is different methods of flashing bios /ec depending on vendor. u can do it within windows or efi method.

Someone with Eluktronics Max 17 (or Max 15) can contact me ? i'm searching for a BIOS, if you can contact Eluktronics to ask their a BIOS or if you can backup yours it would be very very nice (it's safe and i can explain how, very simple), other manufacturer provide bios with less option and not update as much as yours.

Yes you can, you can flash BIOS, install drivers and control center, there is no difference between all reseller in hardware, they all have "Eluktroboost",
I advise you Eluktronics driver and control center, or Illegear, no XMG for now
We are waiting for an Eluktronics BIOS, but can you pls send me a picture of you BIOS ? just the first "tab" where are all the info
and there is no difference between 15" and 17" in driver, control software (and even BIOS i think)

I think it can work, Mech BIOS and PCB are the same as Max 15 and Max 17, connector have the same number of pin, anything should work, i have a 144hz so I can't tell you the part number of 240hz (and I didn't find it through my research), but anyone with it can easily see it in HWINFO and tell us

Hi guys, I've purchased a Vyper 15 (GM5MP7Y) from PC Specialist and I'm fine tuning it to my preference, to prolong battery life and decrease heat, as it's a very thin chassis and the 10875H is very hot.
During normal tuning operations I ran the Windows' Power Efficiency Diagnostic tool, powercfg /energy, which showed me few issues with USB selective suspend and
PCI Express Active-State Power Management (ASPM) has been disabled due to a known incompatibility with the hardware in this computer.

The last one, I suppose, is responsible to avoid the CPU entering lower power states, such as C7%, very important for battery life and temperatures, keeping the CPU in at best in C3% state.
I'm discussing it on ThrottleStop thread but I thought it would be more appropriate talking about it here.

Anyone has some experience in dealing with this kind of issues?
Do I need a bios update or updated drivers?
    Thanks in advance :)

I have noticed the exact same problem on my GM5MPHY from PC Specialist. It only has a 62Wh battery, but it really only gets one hour away from the AC adapter, even with a -110mV undervolt.
I've also noticed the CPU can't reliably get into lower power states. It should in theory get 90+% in low power states while idling, but it only gets 5% in C7 in my case.

My power report contains the same ASPM incompatibility error, Card reader error, and USB composite device error. But besides those I also have high CPU utilization and HD Audio device errors.

After 3 days of headaches and stay awake till 3am... The magic happened.
Wiped the drive from the OS that came with the laptop, downloaded a fresh Windows 10 ISO with the Media Creation Tool, downloaded drivers from a different reseller of Tongfang laptops (which I noticed it's more inclined to push updated drivers more often).
You can't imagine how happy I am about seeing those numbers in the C% states!
However, I still have the ASPM incompatibility error, but considering the achievement it wasn't the cause of the issue at this point.

I undervolted mine as well, disabled some services, and I was getting 3-4 hours of web browsing.
It's too early to have an opinion but seeing the battery time estimation in Windows 10 I can see 5 hours and a half of runtime while writing here on NBR, which was impossible to obtain before!
I wasn't able as well to obtain <1W of power for PKG, now idles at 0.6W!
If you need some info about the drivers I've used send me a DM :)

Is it correct that I can use firmware from Eluktronics for GM5MP0W from laptopparts4less without harm to laptop? Should it be Mech-15 G3 / Max-15 or other model?
Can we use firmware from XMG NEO-15 ?
Btw I found firmware (not drivers) only on XMG. Any other sites where we can download exactly firmware?

I have just ordered a laptop from laptopparts4less because the laptops from PC Specialist apparently do not have switchable graphics in the BIOS according to their support. Switching to iGPU makes quite a difference for battery runtimes according to JarrodTech ( )
