The Intel Draft-n should be included when you configure the machine. Ill check when the Uk site is finished, As for the Xp vs Vista situation that is the $64m question. I can only give you my personal preference. XP, but I speak to some customers who only want vista and some customers who only want xp. I dont want the pressure of making that decision for you

ZUK - thanks for clearing that up. I appreciate your personal opinion re XP v Vista, with the caveat that everyone makes up their own mind of course. :)

I'm thinking to buy an express card with a 6-pin firewire connection. Do you have the same speed as a normal firewire connection, when i use an expresscard

I visited the Danish site and the prices were pretty favourable. (Meaning they were within my price range for the 6224). Fingers crossed the exchange rate is favourable this side of Europe.

I noticed you can configure the 6224/6625 with 4GB of Ram!!!
What can you use that amount for??

No sign of any change on the UK site yet, and I have been checking all day!

yeah 4gigs of ram is alot :p
Atleast I'm VERY happy to see that you can fit your computer with 1 stick of 2gig ram so it will be easier/cheaper in the future to just buy another one and put in it, instead of having to change them both :)

isn' t it better to have two ram modules instead of one, for ex two modules of 1024 instead of one 2048MB module.

Seems like you don't have that option on the danish site

Yes, it is better to have 2 things of ram, or as many slots possible. I am looking at buying the 6625WD, is it possible in the US?

yes it is better, but I am getting one stick with the pure intention of upgrading it, if I knew I was gonna stick with 2gigs I would call them up and ask about the possibility if having it in 2 sticks

Hello to everybody! A few questions to ZeptoUK: I was very happy to see that the 6625WD can be equiped with the Intel n-adapter, but I was under the impression that this would be per default for a Santa Rosa CPU. I certainly am not complaining but why is it an extra option? Also (always concerning the UK-website), is the DVB TV-tuner integrated? In the datasheet the tuner is listed as optional (also in the Datasheet the webcam is mentioned at first as 2,0M, then as 1,3M). And last but not least, among the pictures there are two consecutive pics of the battery side of the laptop. I wanted to know whether on the second pic we see the battery pulled out or the 12-cell battery. Forgive me for all these questions, but I was looking forward to buying this laptop. Excited like everyone, I suppose :)...

well the 8600GT and GTS both have 32 stream processors....this mobile version also has the same 32 stream processors, however much slower clocks, 475mhz for the core and the memory is alot slower at 1400Mhz.

the big daddy 8800's have 6x64bit memory controllers, connected to 6 output engines each capable of outputting 4 pixels per clock. so 24 pixels per clock for those cards, the shaders are connected to these.

for the 8600's this is cut down to just 2 64bit controllers, so thats only a pixel out put of 8 per clock.

the term pipes really doesnt apply anymore.

I've looked around but couldn't find any posts on this topic. The Intel PM965 chipset only supports up to 667MHz for the RAM.

    http://download.intel.com/design/mobile/datashts/31627301.pdf

How come Zepto is listing the 6625WD as
"...supports a frontsidebus (FSB) of up to 800Mhz of memory (PC6400)."

Is it actually running the memory at 800MHz?

Hi, Michadeon The webcam is 1.3 not 2.0 sorry about the confusion. The Wireless adapter is always an option because some people feel they don’t need the wireless adapter, so there’s an option not to get the wireless with the machine.
The TV tuner is inside the machine yes, and yes it’s optional so the machine doesn’t come with the TV tuner unless you actually choose it. Last but by no means least you are correct the picture is showing the notebook witht the 12cell battery inserted. hope this gives you some help

Thank you very very much for your reply, ZeptoUK, I have now all the info I need. I was hoping the 12c battery wouldn't be that big, but then again the 6c one would fit me just fine... All I have to do now is to wait for 25 days :)...

I have got a few quick questions, primarilly focused to the Zepto representatives, but if anyone else got some answers, that would be more than fine :)

Firstly, about the graphics card, how much power does it consume? I have heard that it only consumes 1W more than a 7600 and was wondering if someone has a link or reference to this.

Secondly, I read a review about the computer two days ago stating that Turbo Memory was supported, but have since then heard that this is not the case. Which one of these two statements is correct?

Thirdly, there has been a lot of discussion about the HDMI license in this thread so I appologise if I have missed the answer to this question; do you know when we can expect to see HDMI in it?

Finally, I was given the impression that the keyboard would be available in black as well to match the rest of the laptop, but this is not the case anymore?

Cheers for all your help, much appreciated :)

1 - no idea. 2 - ZeptoUK is chasing this but no definitive answer yet.

3 - Zepto on another forum are saying August for HDMI. http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=706683&p=4

    4. I think its only in one colour scheme atm - silvery border around black (I like it!).

Is there any easy way to upgrade the VGA to HDMI once it's released? Have Zepto made the VGA or TV out modular?

Why didn't Zepto use UDI instead of HDMI and then allow people to use cables to connect to HDMI. UDI doesn't incur heavy licencing like HDMI I think and is said to be fully compatible with HDMI, I think.

ZeptoUK should the ordering be stating Intel ABG WIFI as the default? The Australian website has no option for Intel's version of N-WIFI.

That's interesting. Where did you get that info? In the German Zepto forum they said that the 6625WD will get HDMI sometime in the futuer (late summer??). But they said that the 6224 might not be updated or atleast updated later.

I think Zepto is planning to over a HD-DVD option and then HDMI will come at the same time. The Zepto people are still pretty fussy on the info so might not be for sure.

I have a question: I know that the graphic card has 512MB dedicated ram, but what is the deal with the TurboCache feature? I 'm not very familiar with it, so does anyone know whether it is supported here (and how many MBs are we talking about if supported)? The Nvidia site doesn't mention any 8series card that supports this feature.

I think it is up to 1GB of TurboCache that the drivers can use from the system rams if needed. It is pretty useless so dont worry about it.

I can tell you we have had a delay with the manufacturer of the intergrated webcam. We have subsequently bumped up the delivery time significantly on the websites. We dont expect it to take this amount of time but felt it was a better course of action rather than adding say 1 or 2 days . We are trying to get a first batch sent out to satisfy the customers who placed the first orders (inc petrov) .We will have an update in the morning and let the forum know.

Sorry, I havent read the thread, the clock is 0300 in the night here in Norway now... So maybe it has been answered before, and if so I'm sorry to ask it again. Anyway, I just have one little question:

What producerer/model this 2 machines (6625/6624) build on?

I now that many of the Zepto's models have been Compal machines. But I'm pretty shure these to isn't. Am I right? At least I think that I have read that they are not buildt on the Compal IFL90/IFT100.

    - Amund
    * Who is probably going to buy the IFL90, but I want to check out the 6625 as well. And this was the one question that did hit me, most of the technical data have I read about...

Rene or someone, for some reason on the UK site you have to pay an extra £31 for the 24 month warranty, whereas on the global site it is included at no charge. Why is this? Is it a mistake or something?
