Just to add, I'm also now selling this whitebook :). And I see flyinonice4's question was never answered: the 9800M GTX in SLI should be more powerful.

yea im considering dark smiley... do you think that the atix2 in crossfire is better than 1 8800M GTX? they also told me that it will eventually support 9800's.

im just wondering if the black gloss is too glossy, but i do like the illuminated keyboard, its like the alienware without the name :)

Is there a chance of this being available in the UK any time soon?

And, hopefully, without the heat problems.

@Curunen: I'm not sure about it being in the UK. If not, I'm trying to work out a way for the warranty where you could take it to the OCZ service center in the UK and be reimbursed for it.

I have contacted OCZ as the coughverycough small time system builder I am to see if how much the barebones will be and what the MOQ is. Depending on the MOQ, we could see if we could get a forum group together to sell them to!

I am calling them tomorrow as instructed from their email :)

I wish there was an option to add a 9800M GTX in the whitebook. Then I'd buy it for sure.

    @Hermes¡¢

It should be officially supported by OCZ in the near future, and some retailers are already advertising selling the model with the 9800M GTX.

FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT! j/k, but it should be an interesting debate between these two notebooks once one of them comes out to the public. And being 1.67 inches thick isn't bad for something that can handle two GPUs and two hard drives (not to mention, the M570TU is about 1.5 inches thick). However, I'm interested to see how well the whitebook handles its thermals.

The 9800GTX will be available after the initial release, OCZ does not have an ETA for this option yet.........

now that I've seen side profile pics of it, I can see why they put the 1.0-1.9 disclaimer; the front part is probably 1.0, then it fattens up at the back to 1.9. So yeah, it is thicker than the whitebook.

The previous generations (Arima W830-DA (Turion + 7900GS's), Arima W835-DI (Merom C2D + 7950GTX's & 8700M GT's) also more commonly known as the Alienware m9700 and the m9750 respectively, handled the heat very well, there've been no heat issues with these at all.

The Arima based AW's (m9700, m9750) didn't have any heat problems ;) The only real issues were lack of good SLi drivers for a long time.

Does the OCZ have a SD card reader anywhere on it? I don't see one listed or spot one on any of the screnshots.

I find the reader really handy on my current laptop, though it's not a dealbreaker if it's lacking one.

According to Killernotebooks' configuration page, it has a 7 in 1 card reader. In the picture they provide, it looks as though they are on the right side.

Earlier I wrote this post in another thread...
Evidently since this morning there as been a price war or something between ExoticPC and Killer Notebooks. I just got an email that my system price was going to be reduced to reflect the new pricing $3,484! I can't believe this much system for less than $3,500!!!

let us know what you get, but personally I would get the killer with their branding. By reading both forums at xotic and guru gaming. I would say Killer has more experience building laptops...

Y'all must remember that with K|N, the zero dead pixel warranty IS included. With the other vendors, this costs extra.

Although there is a slight risk, the chance of a dead pixel is minimal with these OCZ NB's. Some companies provide 24/7 around the clock Telephone Support with the purchase, where some do not. ;)

When I looked at your site, it said you would not have the systems until possibly the end of the month, "the chance of a dead pixel is minimal with these OCZ NB's"???

Speaking from a consumers point of view you do not want to take the risk as this is a $99 option on your site. That was one of the things that I considered.

Who is the manufacturer of the screen in the OCZ notebook? Is it the same one as Clevo uses?

I saw this from a non-customer at GoG.

Seems like the support is good enough if other manufacturers are leaving it up to killer to do their support for them.

most companies outsource their support only a few have their support in house.

voodoo pc is the only one I can think of that has their support in-house (in the same building where they build their computers.).

I know this might get the thread back on track, but I will take the risk. Here is something from another thread: ATI Mobile Radeon HD 3870 512MB DDR3 in M860TU
I must say I was veru impressed, though the video aspect ratio is a little messed up. (It's a video of the whitebook running 3DMark06 with 2x3870s in crossfire)
