Just to add, I'm also now selling this whitebook. And I see flyinonice4's question was never answered: the 9800M GTX in SLI should be more powerful.

tornbacchus GO leafs.. Wait, Nevermid
yea im considering dark smiley... do you think that the atix2 in crossfire is better than 1 8800M GTX? they also told me that it will eventually support 9800's.
im just wondering if the black gloss is too glossy, but i do like the illuminated keyboard, its like the alienware without the name -
Is there a chance of this being available in the UK any time soon?
-
Shane@DARK. Company Representative
@Curunen: I'm not sure about it being in the UK. If not, I'm trying to work out a way for the warranty where you could take it to the OCZ service center in the UK and be reimbursed for it. -
I am calling them tomorrow as instructed from their email -
Some Piccies I found,

steveninspokane John 14:6 - Only ONE Way!
It looks pretty thick.
-
Shane@DARK. Company Representative
It's 1.67" thick.
-
Thicker than I'd like...
Come on people...the M570TU is the rig to have! -
Does 5796 has dual GPU? No
Does 5796 has backlit keyboard? No -
I wish there was an option to add a 9800M GTX in the whitebook. Then I'd buy it for sure.
-
the whitebook is actually thinner, the m570tu is 1.0 to 1.9 in thick
-
Shane@DARK. Company Representative
@Hermes¡¢
It should be officially supported by OCZ in the near future, and some retailers are already advertising selling the model with the 9800M GTX. -
-

The 9800GTX will be available after the initial release, OCZ does not have an ETA for this option yet......... -
-
-
now that I've seen side profile pics of it, I can see why they put the 1.0-1.9 disclaimer; the front part is probably 1.0, then it fattens up at the back to 1.9. So yeah, it is thicker than the whitebook.

Let's not clog up the Clevo/Sager forum and discuss this under the "Other Manufacturer" forum. There's already a thread started there:

and the slant is disgusting..
yuck, i cant imagine -
The only real issues were lack of good SLi drivers for a long time.
-
Does the OCZ have a SD card reader anywhere on it? I don't see one listed or spot one on any of the screnshots.
I find the reader really handy on my current laptop, though it's not a dealbreaker if it's lacking one. -
According to Killernotebooks' configuration page, it has a 7 in 1 card reader. In the picture they provide, it looks as though they are on the right side.
-

You are correct it does have a 7 In 1 on the left side............. -

It's a video to a test of the system on 3Dmark06 -
Earlier I wrote this post in another thread...
-
thats still expensive for me
-
let us know what you get, but personally I would get the killer with their branding. By reading both forums at xotic and guru gaming. I would say Killer has more experience building laptops... -
Y'all must remember that with K|N, the zero dead pixel warranty IS included. With the other vendors, this costs extra.
-
Justin@XoticPC Company Representative
Although there is a slight risk, the chance of a dead pixel is minimal with these OCZ NB's. Some companies provide 24/7 around the clock Telephone Support with the purchase, where some do not.
-
Speaking from a consumers point of view you do not want to take the risk as this is a $99 option on your site. That was one of the things that I considered.
Who is the manufacturer of the screen in the OCZ notebook? Is it the same one as Clevo uses?
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=281086
Deodot = http://forum.notebookreview.com/member.php?u=104088
-
Shane@DARK. Company Representative
The manufacturer of the LCD screens in the whitebook is LG-Philips.
-
Do you know what screen Clevo uses?
-
voodoo pc is the only one I can think of that has their support in-house (in the same building where they build their computers.). -
I went to VooDoo PC's site http://www.voodoopc.com/#/productsenvy and was surprised to see only one notebook. The Envy 133. Is that all they make now?
-
not to disrupt the time continium, see voodoo pc section in NBR.
but the answer to your question, ah yes, but soon their releasing a new lappy. -
Sorry about that. My bad.
-
-
I know this might get the thread back on track, but I will take the risk. Here is something from another thread: ATI Mobile Radeon HD 3870 512MB DDR3 in M860TU
I must say I was veru impressed, though the video aspect ratio is a little messed up. (It's a video of the whitebook running 3DMark06 with 2x3870s in crossfire)
-
The WD840-DI has definitely fit into the sweet spot between a Clevo M570TU and Clevo D901C. Power and portability, gotta love it!
