OK, so i didnt know where else to post this and, considering NEC and packard bell were linked at one stage i guessed i'd post here.

Now i know the pictures are a bit blurry but notice the bluish swirly sections around the desktop background (i chose that one because it showed the problem the best). It's been like it for about a 6 months now, but at first i figured it was a driver problem or something. I reformatted the computer thinking it would solve the problem, however, as the pictures below show, it clearly didn't.

Furthermore, one day i took it to uni and on starting it up there i noticed that the problem had simply disappeared (ie: screen was fine). I'm by no means rough on my laptop but i'm thinking it was a loose connection causing the problem. Unfortunately, it didnt last and gradually worsened again to the same state shown in the pictures.

Does anybody know what is causing the problem?
i've plugged the computer into an external monitor and the image is perfect so i figure it's a screen issue, but beyond that i'm lost.

    Halp?

I've seen this problem before and it was because the connection was loose. Sometimes the screen looks fine becaue for some reason the connection becomes better. But as soon as you move the computer the screen goes back to being screwed up. If you know how to get to that connection, it will be an easy fix.
