I have a Dot SE that won't boot, when I hit the power the power light comes on and the fans start to whir but nothing happens..

It looks like a bios problem to me, the laptop screen was smashed so I just replaced it and I have tried resetting the RAM and hard drive which made no difference so any suggestions are much appreciated..

    Thanks!

Have you checked all of the cables/ribbons, make sure they are all connected correctly, nothing loose etc.

Also, when replacing the screen, did you have to dismantle the whole unit or just the screen section?
