Not sure which one you bought but many don't come with power cable.

I bought the one Shawn referred me too, and while searching did in fact discover that the power cable might not be included, but lady luck smiled kindly and rewarded me with the power cable as well.

I am presently deep into trying to set up my new to me CF-19VMRFX2M w/ W10 to be benevolent & kind as well. It is a very different creature than W7

Is there any consensus on the 64bit and 6gb deal?

Do a Google search. All the speed tests I read say that you need 6gb with win7 64bit in order to acheive the same performance as win7 32bit with 4gb.

IMO, if you have modern laptop (MK4+) - use 64-bit Win. And install SSD and as much RAM as possible :)))
If you have MK2-MK3 with 4GB RAM and plan to install more RAM in the future - use 64-bit Win.
In any other case listen to Shawn :)))))

P.S. I'm on mk7 now with 4gb RAM (temporarily), 64-bit Win10. And it's not slow thanks to SSD.

    Hi,
    I'm looking to upgrade a MK4 to MK6 or MK7.
Are there any digitizer-only -versions among MK6 or MK7?
The MK7 might, or might not, have 5-point multitouch?
Is there a working decoder at this time.
I'm mostly looking at eBay for units, I'll have to swap the nordic keyboard from the MK4.
Also, what is the maximum RAM with or without camera?

I'm also open to offers, if anyone has a unit they are willing to part from

What's a decoder in this context?
    Keyboards are compatible.
    8/16GB.
Best upgrade is to fz-g1 ;)

A decoded that would allow me to see with what the computer was dispatched with originally knowing it might not be accurate anymore.
The FZ-G1 would be better for the use - possibly - but the existing vehicular dock makes a CF-19 more economical. Maybe.

Google "Panasonic Product Configurator" and type the full model number into the "search by sku" box.

eg: entering CF-19KJRAG2M gives the following:

    :
    CF-19KJRAG2M
    Status:
    DISCONTINUED
    MSRP:
    $2,000

Description: WINXP (VISTA COA), INTEL CORE 2 DUO SU9300 1.20GHZ (CENTRINO2), VPRO, 10.4" XGA TOUCH, 160GB, 2GB, INTEL WIFI A/B/G/N, DUAL PASS (UPPER:WWAN/LOWER:WLAN), TPM, GOBI, RUBBER BACKLIT KEYBOARD, BLUETOOTH, NO DRIVE, TOUGHBOOK PREFERRED

Hi I need some information if you guys could help me.
    I have a CF-19R (So i guess it's a MK4)
I'm trying to install Windows 7 Pro 64 bit on it, but it will not accept the install media.

I get past the two loading lines of windows is loading files and then I see windows icon before it abruptly reboots.
Is there some drivers i need to bake into the windows 7 iso or is a special installation method used?

I haven't had a problem loading the Mk4 or Mk5 (reloaded the Mk5 with 64 bit two days ago) on reloading windows onto it.

What disk and what set up are you using to load it onto the machine?

What is your full model number as shown in the bios?

I use a standard usb windows 7 ultimate install, that works on many machines.
Only thing I have changed is the amount of RAM and swapping the HDD with an SSD.
    Model number CF-19RHRCXFN
I'll try to switch in the original amount of ram next.

    Im on BIOS 4.00L11
    No Recovery partition

That machine may not like your usb stick.

If you have another intel machine that you know that stick works on just pull the CF-19 drive, stick it in the other machine. Load windows. When it shuts down to reboot automatically just pull the drive and put it back in that machine.

I have had a few issue on some older machines M34, t7, t8 and a 28's that I had to do that too as well.

    Read the country codes.
Country code Z is not listed.
    Wonder what country that is.
    It's on my CF-D1.

    EDIT---

Z seems to be generic for Europe

Quick question about OS install. Been reading everything I can find and want to make sure I'm correct.

So the best way to go about it is to install Win7 first, retrieve all the drivers manually to get everything working and then start the upgrade to 10?

Well some say that but others say do a clean install. Either way you got a lot of work ahead of you if you want to install Windows 10 .

I just noticed you have a MK6. Not sure if Panasonic has a W10 driver pack for the MK6. It would make it easier for you

Well, everything has gone great with windows 7 so far. I installed Pro OEM and sure enough the motherboard was quite happy with that and I was even greeted by a lovely Panasonic wallapaper upon getting to the desktop!

I downloaded the one click driver bundle for the MK6 Win7x64 and the whole lot was working straight away. Front buttons, utilities, ports and everything :)

The installer only seemed to fail on one thing. Which upon checking device manger is my f5521gw Ericsson WAN card. I shall have to look for a driver for that somewhere next.

Think I'll have fun in 7 for a while until I inevitably ruin everything with a 10 upgrade. I might ride out Win7 support here altogether maybe.

This message was typed using a newly restored cf-19 mk6 :p

Since you got W7 Pro up and running good and if you have a spare HDD do a full backup / image of that drive so if you do try W10 and it does not go as planned you will have that drive to get your 19 back up and running again. That's what I did on my CF-53. I had a spare caddy and HDD and lucky I did because W10 did not go as planned for me . Been running W7 Pro 64 bit since with no problems at all .

Anyway, yeah I have a couple spare caddies and a spare 120gb SSD so I can go crazy if I want. Was going to try Linux too though for fun.......

My CF-19 started it's first day of work on the factory floor today and performed admirably! Calibrated the touchscreen and messed with tablet mode for a while. Is it right that all the edges of the screen are out of bounds so to speak? It seems strange that I can't touch the taskbar or start button....
Then I changed to touchscreen mode in the bios but all that did was turn off touch altogether it seems.

Nope that is not right . You should be able to touch anywhere on the screen. What do you have for choices in the BIOS ?

If I set it to touchscreen then nothing worked at all. There are Fujitsu drivers/utility that can be got for this maybe. There is also a Panasonic calibration tool in the Pannasonic Manager or whatever but it says it is incompatible with my hardware. Must only be for other models I guess.

But in auto/tablet mode, I do the Windows calibration and it just gives me a blue box with 4 touch points on the corners. Everything outside the box is "dead". I have seen others calibrating Toughbooks and they are prompted to touch more points all the way out to the corners of the screen. But not me.......

But I am frequently asking questions.

Sounds to me you have the wrong drivers / program. You should try downloading it again and see what happens

Also unplug the AC/DC cord, take out the battery and hold down the power button for 20 or so second's. Put the battery Back in and start the 19 back up. See if that made a difference.

It's a little bit of both at the moment but that is why we have mods. So we can edit or delete post to keep them on track. The reason we do it is so the next guy who comes along does not have to read our off topic stuff and can get to his problem faster. Just makes it a lot cleaner.

So to answer my own question, I went and reset/deleted all calibration data, there's an admin button to do it at the calibration tab. Once I hit that, everything started working perfectly! I can touch the whole screen, accuracy is on point and responsiveness is almost that of a modern device.

Happened totally by accident! Hopefully this helps someone else in the future.

Sadly our source for wiring diagrams is no longer available.
I probably have the service manual for a mk6.
If we are lucky it is the real service manual and not just a parts diagram.

    If I recall,
it will fit IF you do some dremel work.
It is NOT a direct fit.
It has been a long time since I had a CF 19 apart.

i got a CF-19RHRAX1M off ebay with no hard drive and a bad battery and no charger. i bought a replacement battery and hard drive and the battery was charged and this was the first time it has turned on in my possession and i would like to install windows 10 in the new hard drive but i keep having problems like it starting up with the windows 10 blue logo and then just randomly rebooting and the same thing happens when it reboots and tries to start the automatic system repair or i will get a black screen with white letters that will have a prompt that will eventually show errors like pxe-e61. any help will be great. also ive been trying to install windows 10 off a usb drive if that makes a difference.

Not a specific CF-19 or Panasonic problem, google for the solution.

Since I have a MK5 and Mk6 now headed to the house in beat to hell condition I thought I would finally get around to a hardware Spec update to this thread as when I started it I didn't have the newer models to compare.

(I will be robing stuff of the Mk3 with bios password to fix the Mk5 for my middle son, That will give him a big CPU and GPU boost in his travel laptop. I got the Mk6 to check out as I still have a couple of Caddies laying around.)

(AND IT LOOKS LIKE MY EXCEL DOCUMENT HAS FAILED TO LOAD)
