That's what I have also (MK5) . Took caddy and GPS out of one of my older MK2's. Surprised that the GPS works very good in the MK5.

I did a bit of search on emissive chiclet keyboard for CF-19 and I found some suppliers on ebay, then I stopped myself from buying it because someone here wrote that they are the only non-waterproof keyboards, is that true? I do have the emissive rubber keyboard installed and two brand new normal chiclet keyboards tucked away, I always wanted the best of both worlds.

I like the emissive keyboards best and they are supposed to be rated waterproof, but I have not used mine in rain or boating. I believe @BaRRmaley and others have more relevant experience.

At one time someone found a Emissive keyboard "copy" it had no backlight built in, not even the wires for it. I don't know if we ever figured out if it was a china copy or some odd Panasonic order.

I want to do a RAM upgrade in my MK6.

What's in there at the moment is 1Rx8 PC3L. As I understand it, the Rx8 thing isn't that important. But what about power?

Anyone know if CF-19 should be PC3 or PC3L?

I have recently acquired a cf-19 mk2 and have a couple of usb did burners and they both work fine when burning iso files with it.

I think the problem was mostly with older CF-18's getting them to boot from a CD or DVD, many times only the Panasonic CD/DVD player (CF-VDRRT3U) would work. Not sure if the early CF-19's also had that issue, but pretty sure both CF-18 and CF-19 will work with most usb DVD players, once Windows is loaded.

    Yep,
The non booting issue is what I encountered on a CF-19

Same, non booting issue. Even with some older toughbooks I had no issue doing anything with a cd/dvd drive on other stuff. The CD/DVD has to be set to master for it to boot.

Is the CF-19 MK8 with 16GB ram able to make a notable difference from an MK4 CF-19RHR...? I love my CF-19 but its a little laggy these days, I use it for running GM diagnostic programs and they are getting resource hungry. Some input from experience could save me some money.

I am so sorry that this forum is closing. I had just just joined recently. Well, maybe I can still make a small contribution. I have a CF-19 RDR, which includes double touch, i.e. finger touch and supposedly also the ability to draw onscreen with a stylus.

The small stylus included with the unit doesn't work and also leaves unwanted nasty straight lines, however I believe have found one that will. The Panasonic number is VNP012. It appears to be available sporadically on E-bay and NewEgg also carries it. I have bought a few from each source, will test them, and report back here.

I hope they arrive and I can try them out before this forum closes. If so, I will report back. If this thread does get archived somewhere else, I hope my small contribution helps someone.

I think this item may have a follow-on with a different
    number, but I don't know.

I'm hoping that I will be able to use Photoshop 7 or Photoshop Elements 10 and be able to draw and
paint, as was the intention when I got this CF-19.
It is rugged enough to let me work outside in heat and cold. Overheating would shut down my previous Gateway 2-in-1 convertible PC, which is why I got the Panasonic.

I hope this thread does get archived. Thank you for making it, since it was helpful in configuring my CF-19.

    CF-VN012U will work.

    It's like mining bitcoins on cf-19 :))
For that type of work you need something better than i5-540UM and limited colors low resolution small screen.
