I have just removed the cover off my D1 and acually drilled a hole into it. Now it’s just a matter of how long I will have this
I tried on a 30 MK1 for the headphone jack and it kinda sucks for me but I don’t really care about it
I’m tried. I’m now throwing myself on a bed and shoving my head into my pillow

I got the cover. Have been working steady enough that I couldn't get to the couriers until today.
Panasonic Canada sent me the complete right side port cover assembly, serial, network, blank and power in, complete with metal retaining strip and screws.
There is/are not part numbers on the box the assembly was in or on the invoice. Quoting the invoice in the 'Remarks' area "Only I/O cover shipped as good will gesture. Actual Modem CFD1DVA06F3 (their sample unit model number). Model CF-D1 not sold in Canada." Quote from the 'Details Of Service' area "Parts shipped: DC jack cover from our sample unit."
Hard to beat that, even if I would have had to pay shipping.
Worked from 7:30am yesterday until 5:00am this morning. Going to have a nap so that I don't fell like a 60yr old. When I wake I should be back to reality, because I feel like I am dreaming.

Been testing different OSes on my D1 yesterday and today.
OSes that work:
Windows 10 (obviously).
Cloudready - ChromiumOS by Neverware (current version)
Androidx86 (version 9)
Debian (all versions currently available) and derivatives.
RuggedOS (currently under development/testing)
The big thing I have noticed is touch screen calibration requires alot of work. -
Check the BIOS
Tablet or Touchscreen.
I forget which one Linux prefers. I "think" it is touchscreen.
I was correct.

Already set that thanks to reading this entire discussion to find out why it wasn't working at all in Linux yet did for all other OSes.

I can confirm that the 8 gig. max is not true. I just installed 2 8 gig sticks and it does show them.

Hello..
what can you put in the slot?

Only WWAN or other Modules?

Ok, Thank You
-
You usually cant because the Panasonic BIOS prevents them from working.
Been down this road many times. I have had some luck with a second wifi/bluetooth card in the WWAN slot. Intel 6235 I think.
The only thing is that the bluetooth worked but the wifi did NOT in the WWAN slot. I have found a gps card that worked in the WWAN slot for a while.
Normal laptops have usb AND PCIE wired on a mini PCIE (WWAN and WIFI card slot)Toughbooks do not.
Toughbooks are not like normal laptops. Use the search tool and read.
You can learn a lot that way. -
I can already tell that the Toughbooks are different from other laptops. installing Win7 x64 in the Uefi alone is difficult.

"UEFI"
There's your problem. Win7 does not support UEFI without CSM. -

I still have a problem. I have a CF-D1KW200MZ with Bios V2.50L11 M10. Now I have the version BIOS_D1_V250L14.exe here.
https://pc-dl.panasonic.co.jp/dl/do...score=0.17759083211422&sri=14646542&trn_org=2
When starting it brings with the following error message.
„This Model is Not supported“
Does anyone have any idea why? -
D1 indicates mk1..D2 indicates mk2.
Also the M10 at the end indicates a custom BIOS ordered by the original purchaser. Rarely can these custom BIOS's be upgraded.
Good thing it stopped or you would have a brick. -
now I'm confused. CF-D1G / K should be MK2 and D1A is MK1. I also looked for the drivers / bios by model. Then I will call the support, see if they have an idea how I can get the bios update to run or is there another way!
-
With your machine having Bios V2.50L11 M10, you will not get any standard bios update to work.
M10 indicates a custom BIOS.
Mine is a CF-D1DW200FZ-----BIOS number V1.50L10 M10 -
I suspect the device was renamed to a Cf-D1. The seller has indicated that he has installed a new silver frame. I'll call Panasonic.

For info
Pics showing the WWAN & GPS antennas vs the standard model, and the position of the WWAN & GPS cards and connectors. -
Thanks for the photos
