UPDATE. My CF-19 has been rocking along. Very few problems. I think I need to upgrade my RAM. So as I understand, XP Tablet will only recognize 3gb even if I put in 4gb. But if I am using Ubuntu 14.4 (I have a bootable USB drive), it will recognize the 4gb. Is this correct? What happens if I buy Windows 7 or 8.1, they will recognize the 4gb too?
One issue that I can't seem to figure out is getting my free version of Norton from Comcast to install. I get to 95%+, then I get an error message. I deleted my Sbybot. Same thing happens. I reinstalled the recovery disk(forgetting the pictures I had on the computer like a dummy) thinking maybe Spybot left something behind but still the same error message. I even contacted Norton. I gave up after an hour because I was getting frustrated. Do you think that the problem is that it is XP tablet and not XP. I'm at a loss. Not a big surprise since I don't know that much, just enough to get into trouble. -
My opinionated and experienced answers.
XP ,,Win7 32bit,, Win8 32bit All can only see 3.3gb or Ram..
Win7 64bit,,Win8 64bit can see and NEED more Ram....Which 95% of the users will NEVER need or use..
The following is copied from the net
Ubuntu 32 Bit - 4GB RAM
Ubuntu 32 Bit + PAE (Physical Address Extension) - 64GB RAM
Ubuntu x32ABI - 4GB RAM (This is for 32 Bit architecture modified with 64 Bit enhancements running on 64 Bit hardware. It is not yet available.)
Ubuntu 64 Bit - A LOT! (Actually 2^64) but because of hardware limits and real world computers the limit is around 1TB ( 1024GB RAM)
I gave up on everything from Norton years ago....I've been running Comodo Internet security Free edition....
I like Zorin as a Linux flavor. Otherwise run Win7 32bit... -
Thanks.......

Quick question about the dock replicator, is it ok to pop the laptop in and out while it is on or do I need to turn it off every time?
-
It's normal.
(you just have to do it in vacuum and with metal chain connected to your hand and to the ground) -

" I was using a wire wrapped around my tongue and sticking it wall outlet ground."
this reminds me of a trick we pulled on dumb kids when we were young ...
it involved an electric fence and getting the kid to urinate withing arms reach of it .

So now I have another issue. Every time I shut the computer off or it goes into sleep mode, the number lock turns on by itself. Weird stuff. I asked my friend, he's not sure why it does that. It's a pain in da rear I tell you. Anyone have an idea how I turned this on or more important, H0W DO I SHUT IT OFF!?!? -
There is a corresponding switch in BIOS.

I can't find the option in the BIOS. I tried the regedit twice with no change. Any ideas?

I need to get ready for Christmas Eve!!
I will be leaving but I will make a video showing what I did!!!
LOL!!!!
I don't know what else to say. I followed the instructions from the website. As soon as restart or wake up happens, I'm right back in the same place. The only thing I can figure out is it started after my friend installed some ad blocker deal on Sunday. -
Even with this cheat?
)
-
Anyone have a clue why this is happening?
-
System restore to a point prior to "my buddy installed some sort of ad blocker on Sunday".

Soooooooo........the computer fixed itself. I used the fixes that BaRRmaley suggested. After about 2 dozen cycles, things seem to be back to normal.
Help a dummy out, I just bought a CF-19.
