Kinda feel bad saying it but I almost prefer the 2013 model of the razer. Runs cooler, much better battery life, the 1600x900 screen looks pretty darn good on a small 14 in screen, the 765 gpu also preformed ok because of the lower resolution. The only thing the older lacks is good view angles.

finding it hard to not to buy one now or the aorus x3. but holding out till around gta 5.
its easy to say 970m gtx. but I think around then we would hear something about how well the 960m performs. but id be in favour of 970m if they can fit a 870m in they can do a 970m.
id also like a quiet laptop on load. ive hand no experience with razer blade. so I also hope that the dedicated mouse buttons are very silent when clicked a bit like business line hp or thinkpad dedicated click buttons.
and a key factor is "UK" resellers of some sort. so I can get after sales support if the hardware turns out faulty. as duty tax takes a huge hit not only one the 1st time to you. but also having to send it back out etc. Its the only thing aorus x3 has over razer blade for me besides user upgradeability.

I'm revising my "wishlist" into what I think they'll actually do, or what I would realistically like to see them do, for the 2015 Blade 14:

    • Same display, or possibly actual 4K but my money is on the same one
    • 970M for sure
    • 16GB RAM
    • faster PCIe storage instead of SATA, probably same single M.2 stick
    • DisplayPort/Thunderbolt with an included-in-the-box HDMI adapter (for better external display support while retaining HDMI port) Can just throw this right where the existing HDMI port is.
    • Included in the box USB 3.0 ethernet adapter, because they are too inexpensive not to do this for the people that complain about it
    • Same 3x USB 3.0
    • Hopefully the same trackpad, it's stellar
    • Hopefully the same keyboard, it's also stellar (I discovered that there are home/end, try using FN with the arrow keys..)
    • Maybe slightly refine the cooling system to remove the gaps on the heat pipe contact areas and possibly spec fans that are a slight bit quieter under load, this isn't that big a deal but maybe just a slight evolution if possible.
    • Hopefully at least the same exact price, I'd hate to see them raise the price again

This all seems reasonable, but I doubt all of it will happen. A couple little extras included in the box would go a long way.

Hopefully they will come out with multiple screen versions. The high res is ok and I could settle for it, but when comparing the 2013 model and 2014 model, when doing anything other than gaming, the only real difference in the 2 is the screen. Knowing this and knowing how much better the battery was on the 2013 model I deduct that the cause of the battery loss is the higher resolution screen. Now realistically with a 14" screen 4k resolution is just ridiculously small and only reason people would want it is because its the latest thing. Atleast that's the only reason I can think of. So would I rather have 6-7 hours of normal use with 1080 screen, or... have 4-5 hrs normal use with 4k and have to fiddle with the screen magnification and game resolution 4-5 times a day? Personally I choose the 1080p touchscreen or not. The only other must have for me is the 970m, 2 msata, and 2 ram slots.

I also hope for 2 ram slots and some upgradability. This is why I am now once again looking at PCs and why I loved my Macbook Pro 2011.

Yea I think the razer 14 should sacrifice some of the thinness for 2 msata, and 2 ram the best quality of the blade is the uniform chassis not necessarily the "thinner than a dime" thing they refer to. Id rather have it "thinner than a nickel" and better cooling and upgradability.

Sadly because of the 1 msata, 8gb ram max and 870m inferno, I went with the p35w v3, which I think is a wonderful laptop, dont understand why everyone seems to think it has problems, once I installed the correct drivers its run flawlessly.

I'd settle for a 970m over a 980m if the latter would lead to excessive temperatures and noise

If it was announced tomorrow with 16gb memory and a maxwell gpu, I would immediately cancel my pre-order of the Gigabyte P34W v3! Sadly that will doubtfully happen. Looking forward to the Razer Blade 2019!

It was announced... Just a day after tomorrow from the day of your post. Are you cancelling your order? Were there enough changes for you to switch to the Razer from the P34W?

And yeah, I'm disappointed with the new stats. There maybe hope for the Razer Blade Pro, but not really. Looking at these changes, it looks easy to predict what the Pro version will have so time for me to move on.

Disappointed based on the spectacular build quality. They just had to make a couple of small additional changes (a TB drive or extra slot for one, mini-display port, etc.) and it would have been a great laptop.

    Ah well.

HAHAHA....I can't believe this! I love it. Cancelling this very SECOND!!! I am lucky that xoticPC was the only company that didn't get the P34W v3. There stock was delayed 10 extra days. Is this fate? I don't know.

Nice! Gratz! I hope you love the laptop. And I'm glad it came out just in time for you to cancel your order and get what you really wanted.

I just ended up ordering the Aorus X7 Pro. Was waiting for the Razer Blade Pro, but since it's not coming out yet, I went with the other Pro.

That does suck. I wish i could fix that for you.

Asus, Aorus, msi and gigabyte have some nice offerings. The upcoming Asus 501 looks really nice. The red isn't for me, but the ROG series is nice.
