    Sweet! That is indeed impressive.

I did compare to some results from notebookcheck and Jarrodstech.

As far as I die get everything right that is almost the graphics score of a 2080 Max-Q. And some bit higher then the 2070 non Max-Q of the Asus Zephyrus.

Did you do anything Else to your Blade?

I also noticed that you are using Kingston RAM. Which one did you buy?

    Thanks a lot guys!

    Cheers!

Hey! In regards to my steps:

    - My 2070 is flashed to the RBPro vbios
    - Throttlestop set to -.130
    - Afterburner set to +100 curve, and +500 memory

I also heavily customize my Windows (1903) to run as minimally as possible.

    PS, here's the RAM:

I am going to do this today. Does anyone know if i need to use the protectoff command with this being a razer bios? I will post my results once the flash is complete.

Not a 2070 but I flashed my 2080 with the RB Pro 17's 100w vbios just fine without the protectoff command.

I did the flash and it says something like these do not match do you want to override. went from 200X to 300x version. Flash took. My scores are exactly the same as before. About 20k on firestrike and 7600 on timespy.

    To be expected

Try uninstalling drivers with DDU and install fresh drivers.

With the new 2070Max-q vbios flashed the my tdp still stayed at 90watt as shown in HWiNFO.
    Screenshot (3).png
I also check the rom file with Mobile Pascal TDP Tweaker and I noticed the target mw is 90000 but the limit is 10000. I don't know if this has anything to do with it?

note that GPUZ still shows 2002 as my device id. Should that change to 3000?

Youve got to use the main board bios 1.04 and run in high performance mode to use the 100W portion of the vbios.

I am on the modded bios and it shows version 1.02. Sounds like you are saying i need to flash to 1.04 and lose the Throttle controller bios to get the 100 watt GPU vbios to work.

Never mind if you are on higher than 1.04 then you should be okay I just knew that when I was on 1.02 it wouldn’t work...

Also I’m referring to high performance mode in razer synapse.

I am on bios 1.02. I tried to do the update to 1.05 and it failed at the end. Thank goodness i did a power off and computer came back up. I would not suggest anyone doing this update especially if you are on the modded pl throttle bios.

Usually it will hang and once you restart you will indeed be on the updated bios and then you will need to do the power limit modification again. But 1.04 and up has fixes for the 100W vbios to actually allow you to use it.

Even when using the performance preset in synapse? If that is so I would try 1.04.

Can anyone confirm that they are at 100w and if so what system bios are you using?

I am on 1.02 and only seeing 90 watts. You can look at HWINFO sensor data and it will show max wattage. You may be in the range of 89-93 but we need to see one that says 100-102

So it's taken a lot of trial and error, but I finally broke 18k on Firestrike:
    https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/39870842

    Steps:
    - Flashed Vbios from RBP 2070 - 100w (stock was 80, and I had previously flashed 90w)

    - Tried the BIOS mod, but ended up reverting the changes. - Raised CPU but lowered GPU scores

    - Ended up ordering some Kryonaut and repasted.

    - Throttlestop set to -.135 cpu core & cache, and -.06 IGPU, Turbo capped @ 4.4ghz, Speedshift 0

    - Synapse set to gaming mode, fans @ 5000 (I managed to keep Synapse v3.4.414.41716 as to not lose control of my fans, in favor of "creator/custom modes" which are on newer versions...

Really happy with my score, and my max temps were 74c

@MagillaGorilla I see you have the mid 2019 edition. I wonder if thats why its working for you. Can you go into more detail on your settings. Did you reinstall your drivers and what power plan are you on. I have the early 2019 model and I cant pass 90watt with the modded vbios.

Anyone know if it would be possible to flash the 100w 2070 on the new razerblade 15 with the 2070 max q and optical key switches? or would that require more looking into before it's confirmed? I'm considering getting a blade but a 80w 2070 max q isn't very appealing to me vs at least a 90w variant or higher. Currently have an alienware m15 r1 with 1070 max q and firestrike graphic score is around 15,000. Not sure if the 2070 max q stock will be that much of an upgrade (unless it's possible to flash the 90w or 100w vbios)

The 2070MQ is touching 17500 in firestrike at stock.

and like i mentioned in the other topic, flashing the bios to push the wattage higher is asking for trouble in such a thermal constrained machine where currently more and more cases of the 2018 model are popping up with bloated batteries. The VRM section is close to the battery together with the NVME SSD.

No. It will just behave like any other 90w 2080 Max-q vbios on MSI laptops.

    Correction: 2070 Max-q

Okay so I had hwinfo running and was hitting up to 102.5 watts. I restarted the system and can’t duplicate it or my scores. I had just installed wallpaper engine which overrode synapse. I have removed synapse, uninstalled and restarted wallpaper engine to no avail. So I know it is possible but being limited at the software level. I am now back to 90 watt. 100 watts made the laptop so much better. Was holding 1650 in all my games at .750 on gpu.

I know! I am telling you the difference in gaming was huge. I wish I would have taken a screenshot! There has to be a software way to get it to work because it happened when I installed that program off steam. I do have LM on CPU and GPU which helps with overclocking. My best score on CPU in cinebench was 3076 which is better than all 9750hs I have seen. GPU was clocking up past 2000 in bl3 short term but was running at 1700 plus. I did get a solid GPU. At one point there was only one 2070 better than mine in a Razer on Futuremark.

Someone smarter than me step in and figure this out. The limitation is at the software level! I want the 100w back! LOL

So since your have the 9th gen CPU this will work for even tho your on bios 1.02. This is because the vbios is from a Razer Blade Pro with that same CPU and so you shouldn’t run into any problems like us with the 8th gen CPU.

So flashed my razer blade 15 advanced mid 2019 2070 Max-Q with this vbios and went well. Honestly I couldn't find out what wattage mine was so I just assumed it was the 80w and flashed it with this firmware and no issues. Trying to see how I can tell what the wattage is but ran furmark and watched wattage in hwinfo and it was only hitting 36W. Then again I was on battery and not plugged in. Will try later with battery plugged in and see results.

To find your wattage use HWiNFO and yes make sure your plugged in. The default wattage is 90watt for the RB 15 2070max-q. Also having the gaming profile selected in Razer Synapse will push the most power to the GPU if you see your wattage fluctuate and FPS.

Yeah prefer to test it out playing games or using an in game benchmark. Also keep in mind some games can be more CPU intensive like the AC games or Watch Dogs 2. Test it where the same things on screen or gameplay happen every time so it won’t differ to much the results.

100w peak is hit by 90w vbioses. 100w vbioses should have a peak of 110-120w.

Try running heaven 4.0 and take a look at the power draw when it is running.

Ok I'll try running heaven later tonight and see. I could always flash back to default and see as well. I wonder if cooling has anything to do with it since I didn't re-paste the GPU or CPU for the razer yet.

Does anybody have the stock image for the Razer 15 9750h 2070 max q? I seemed to have deleted my backup file. The 100w bios is working great but i do notice its getting a bit on the warm side during long gaming sessions. 80-83C on the GPU.
