This is a gutsy little card. Just got the laptop for 4 hours to quickly flash vbios and LM the cpu and gpu. No other tweaking but overclocking the gpu and undervolt cpu at -150.

What overclocks are you running on the card?

I've seen 2070 Max-q cards hit 20k and brush up against 21k in some instances.

People usually don't overclock the memory enough. Core should be around +140 to + 160mhz while memory should be +600 to +800mhz

    Core +170mhz
    Memory +425mhz

I will play with it some more later but I'm pretty sure it will be hitting over 20k.

Do you guys think it's safe to flash Razer Pro 2080 Super Max Q to Razer 15 Advanced 2070 Super Max Q?

Does anyone here have the 90 watt bios for the RTX 2070 Super Max-Q from the Razer Blade Advanced 15? I'm trying to flash my GS66 Stealth from 80 watts to 90 watts.

Thanks. I appreciate it. Also would you mind also sending me a screenshot of the GPU-Z info page as well. I just want to see if the model-id and things like that match up with the RTX 2070 Super in my GS66. First time flashing a gpu bios so I'm taking my time to do the work and reading up on the subject and making sure to check for compatibility.

I successfully flashed the bios you sent me into my GS66. Thanks again. I also checked the power limits for the bios you gave me and it seems there might be some issues?

The target value doesn't seem right though? Shouldn't it be higher. Currently it says 80 watts for the bios you sent me. I'm not sure if Razer Synapse changes that value depending on what values you set for the system?

Just ran some tests and the average max power draw is still 80 watts. It's not hitting 90 watts and I suspect it's because the target value in the vbios you sent is set to 80 watts.

    https://imgur.com/a/zqgcPHx

Could you check that your Synapse settings is set to high on the gpu, it might also be called gaming mode, and then dump the vbios file again for me. I think it might have been saved in balanced mode in synapse so the target value is set to 80 watts instead of 90 watts. I'm not sure if this would change anything, but it's worth checking.

It looks like someone posted a similar note in the past on page 13 with variable bios. It looks like I will need the 100 watt vbios for the RTX 2070 Super Max-Q as well if the synapse stuff doesn't end up working out. To get the higher power draw I need target power limits set at 90+ watts.

I'll check it again when I get home. The Razer with this vbios when overclocking pull around 105-110w.

I haven't found any laptops yet with a 100w 2070 Super MQ especially when Razer doesn't have it in their 17 Pro lineup yet. What about the regular 2070 Super mobile at 115W?

I did it this time in Custom all out performance in DGPU mode... https://www.mediafire.com/file/h801ze5kxnc2n03/2070Super.rom/file

I don't know if makes a difference since my snapshot look just like yours. Again, I'm able to go well over 100w.

I gave it another try and it's still only averaging 80 watts. Peak is also only 96 watts which was the same as the GS66 original vbios.

I haven't tried it yet with the mobile gpu bios. I think I heard that in the past people had trouble flashing max-p bioses onto max-q gpus. I might try it after I do a little bit more reading on what others have done and see what issues may pop up.

I did find an RTX 2070 Super Mobile Bios on techpowerup https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/221251/221251. I'm just a bit hesitant to flash it since PascalTDPTweaker doesn't show what the power limits are, nor are the revision numbers given.

Yes it wont work as the gpu will just lock itself down to safe mode and limit itself to 1350mhz.

Since this is one of the few threads I've found on a 2070 Max-Q maybe it's worth a shot posting here.
Been looking for a while to increase from 80W to 90W or higher which some here had succes with, but can't seem to find this being done on an Acer Predator Helios 300 (2019), would any of these vBIOSes be even worth trying or would that be straight up asking for trouble?

Pretty new to this too so still heavily considering if I even should, the performance gain would be nice though.

    Hi everyone,

I have a Razer Blade Advanced (Late 2019) with RTX 2070 Max-Q and i7-9750h. As I understand, flashing the 100w vbios should be no problem with this model. Can someone provide me with a step by step tutorial how to flash a vbios in general? I have no experience with flashing until now.

    Thanks in advance!

Sorry to hear that, if you flashed the vbios and somethig went wrong I would think you would still be able to get into windows or hear windows doing stuff with a black screen or it would boot up with the integrated gpu. That's what happen to me waaay back when I flashed the wrong vbios on another laptop I was able to use windows with keyboard shortcuts but had a black screen. In any case you will need a CH341A hardware flasher to flash back you can search the razer forum for hardware flasher and see others people experience and here is a link you can check out to start you off How to recover from a bad video BIOS flash | TechPowerUp Forums. Good luck!

I’m using a patched nvflash for Turing cards but I still can’t flash the bios from the Blade Pro. Im using a Blade 15 early 2020. Any help?

    I did:

    nvflash --protectofff - no errors

    then

    nvflash -6 2070.rom

then I get the following error, seen on the second screenshot. I even tried --index=0 2070.rom because of the possibility that the iGPU will conflict but, same error
    https://imgur.com/a/ZcSrwKM

Edit: so it looks like I need a vbios from a RBP with a 10th gen CPU, right? To make the flash work? Or can I simply edit the vBios? Or even worse does this "trick" won’t work with newer blades?
