I am curious why people who are wondering when Amazon will have it in stock just don't order from the Razer website. As far as I can tell Amazon charges taxes in more states than Razer AND Amazon has a horrible return policy on laptops (15% restocking fee unless laptop is DOA). I was going to return my Pro and it was easy they got me an RMA and it was going to be a full refund within the 14 days.

What advantages are there with ordering through Amazon that is causing this much fuss?

Can't answer for other folks but I had some Amazon credit and have ordered other Razer products through Amazon in the past without incident, so I just sort of pulled the trigger. I also purchased an extended third-party protection plan through Amazon (SquareTrade). At the end of the day I'm open to eating the few hundred dollar difference to order directly through Razer; I've just been waiting to see if orders will start moving now that they are getting caught up on direct sales.

Has anyone seen an exhaustive Pro review? Everything has been oo's and ahh's over the RB14 but nothing about the Pro. Very interested how it's stacking up now with the Haswell on battery life and FPS.

    Really appreciate it.

Then what's with jd.com in China already having stock and shipping -_-? I'm not arguing with you. I'm expressing my frustration with Razer's strange decision-making.

What proof do we have that razer is deciding to do this? They have said they had a shipment stuck in customs and it seems a bunch of orders were just filled. Just because they happen to be in stock in china doesn't mean they have a bunch or are prioritizing china over us. Are you suggesting all shipments to china should be turned around and sent here?

Crap happens, seems every time apple releases an ipad availability sucks for at least a month, and I doubt razer was really expecting so much interest and they probably don't have the money to stockpile a bunch of them as they are a smaller company. I'm sure they are doing their best.

I might really just try to order from razer directly. It seems people have it working even though they dont have a us card. Can't be bothered waiting on ncix, their eta is now 15-31 july. And from the sound of it they arent really expecting stock

So just to clarify, the estimated time of arrival on the Razer website for the Razer Blade 14" 512gb is incorrect right?

    i.e. ships in 1-2 weeks

EDIT : I received an e-mail from Razer after I sent in a ticket about when the 14" 512gb will be in stock and they replied with :

    "Thank you for contacting Razer.
You can order the Blade 512gb right now, and it is estimated to ship in 1-2 weeks. Thanks for your patience and support!

    Best Regards,
    Razer Support Team"

    How reliable is this?

I ordered a 512GB with 1-day shipping on June 30th betting on Razer's status of "Ships in 5-7 business days." Since they're probably waiting on the next shipment to come in, I'd go by the current status of 1-2 weeks.

So I'm going to guess end of next week or later before the 512GB ships.

Bought from razer and can confirm it works using a foreign card, my order has now succesfully been processed. Just waiting for the shipping email. Annoyed at the fact I waited 3 weeks for NCIX and got nothing out of it when I could've gotten my Blade right now!

Min mentioned these guys have the exclusive rights to sell the razer blades in China. One guy already unboxed his. But as i said earlier only the 256GB is available for now.

I don't see anything perculiar about this. Knowing how long shipping and customs take in China. This shipment probably was on it's way long before this delay fiasco happened in the US.

    Are these all 14" models?

I ordered the 17" 256G version on 7/1 when it was advertised that the backorder was "5-7 days". (The other two 17" models were backordered 2-3 weeks, so I naively thought the issue was the availability of the SSDs) Sent an email after 8 days and was told, "Sorry for the inconvenience, but the shipping time is 2-3 weeks." I still don't know if it's 2-3 weeks from now? (2-3 weeks + 1-1/2 weeks I've waited?)

How zippy is the SSD for those fortunate enough to have their Blades already? Seems like the RAID setups in the Clevo coming out are rather incredible with their read speeds....

Looks like they get a shipment in every two weeks or so. I would plan on about 2 weeks from now before more shipments are sent out. On a side note, don't get so upset people. Razer wants to sell you these things as fast as possible. They are doing everything they can possibly do to get them to you. Every time I have sent them an email, I hear back within a few hours. For a small company with such a hugely popular product, I think they are doing a pretty good job. I don't think they could have been prepared for this much demand unless they waited until August or September to release/pre-order.

So a little update on my purchase.

i sent razer an email asking if they were going to honour their shipping estimate or not, to which they replied that they understood my frustrations etc etc, but couldn't give an acurate date as of now. then three hours later i receive an email stating that my order has shipped, and using track and trace, there seems to be some kind of package incoming :)... This is the blade 14 inch 512 gb ordered on june 7th... so it seems that razer themselves haven't even got a good idea of when they ship??

My comment was about the 14" 256 GB version, yes. I originally "pre-ordered" through Amazon on July 11. Cancelled yesterday (7/10) and reordered directly through the Razer Store; will let you guys know how that goes. Good luck!

its an msata 840 pro which can saturate sata`s 6gbs bandwidth in read speeds at 550mb/s but can only achieve about 250mb/s write speeds. There have been reports of a second hard drive slot however implying that you could mount two msata drives in raid 0.

Any thoughts on using the blade pro in a college setting? Would I be crazy or should I just get the Blade 14"?

Also thinking of holding off, getting a Ultrabook for a year then buying the refresh next year which should most definitely have a 1080p IPS display.

I'm going to be using the Blade Pro for college/university setting. I think that the 14 is definitely a good option if you like extreme portability. I've even gone to the extent of using an AW M17x for college, which I never brought to lectures/small classes because it was just too heavy - I plan to be able to on my Pro now.

Only 'issue' I'll have is how obstructive the screen size would be for myself/people behind me. But other than that, if you don't mind it or mind carrying a backpack around (which I do anyway) the Pro shouldn't be a problem.

I desperately needed a laptop so I order an HP envy on 18 month financing. I guess I'll wait for the blade refresh and stick to the HP because it'll arrive tomorrow. This sucks so much because I finally had the money and I'm tired of Xbox gaming limitations for battlefield online. But what can a desperate dj school student do :(

I bet it will be fine for a desk. It's still pretty thin and not that heavy after all. I used to have a core 2 duo mbp 15"- which is probably around the same height as the 17" blade (16:10) vs (16:9) and it was fine for school.

To the real owners of the Razer 14 that has them right now and are using it, how is the matte screen? Does it have a grainy look to it or is it clear and colorful?

I just canceled my order for a RB Pro 512Gb. It seems that Razer has absolutely no way to predict stock, availability, or ship dates for any of these units. This is unfortunate that these things are back ordered to a magnitude of weeks with no reasonable systematic way to predict stock availability or ship dates. Razer should work on better integration between its supply chain, online store, and product fulfillment partners. I am saddened by this as I am a fan and true supporter of the companies vision.

The screen is not grainy at all, from that point of view, it's really good.
I find it to be very clear and colourful, but the only issue with it are the viewing angles! they are VERY restricted.

Other that that, I am extremely happy with the screen quality!

You should have waited just a little bit longer.

I just got a shipping notification for my 512 ~3 hours ago. Ordered June 30th, shipped July 11th according to FedEx tracking. Looks like I'll have it by tonight.

This also means Razer was only off on their shipping estimate by 1 day. When I ordered, the estimate was 5 to 7 business days. Counting would start from July 1st, and July 4th wouldn't included as it's a holiday. That makes Thursday, July 11th the 8th business day.

Looks like you are luckier than me: I also ordered a 256gb directly from Razer on July 10th at 5:00am PDT, got an answer from support last night telling me that my order was showing as complete and would be shipped soon, got really excited, but instead today my order is still "in process" and I just received an email stating that it was on 1-2 weeks backorder. Bleh.

Fun fact: I've now paid for that laptop 4 times, and only got one of those payments back.

1st time was back in mid-June before I hadn't learnt about the existence of mail forwarding companies: I tried to have a friend of a friend who leaves in NY order it for me, but the guy was very unresponsive and apparently never claimed the Paypal transfer in 2 weeks so I cancelled it.

2nd time, still thinking I needed both a US address AND a US-credit card since the Razer order page prominently stated that "the billing address needs to match the one appearing on your credit card" I tried to go through MyUS.com personnal shopper service. After making m wait for the credit card verification process they realized they instead needed a bank transfer, and once I sent it they suddenly realized Razer wouldn't ship to them anymore since they got blacklisted as a mail-forwarding company. I'm still waiting for that money to come back.

3rd time I placed a preorder with an online reseller who ships to Europe. They were very helpful and responsive and assured me that I would be part of their first allocation, but like every other non-chinese resellers they haven't received any units yet and don't really have any clue when they will.

4th time I placed an order directly with Razer using another mail-forwarding company's shipping address, after learning that despite what the warning said, non-US credit cards could be used just fine. Unfortunately, it seems like I wasn't invited to the July 9-10th shipping party.

Oh well, at least I can take comfort in the fact that no matter what happens now, every day that passes is a day closer to the time I'll finally put my greedy hands on this beautiful system.

Update on my 14" 256 GB order:
    - 11 June: pre-ordered on Amazon.
    - 10 July: gave up on Amazon, cancelled Amazon order and re-ordered through Razer's site.
    - 11 July: FedEx receipt shows my unit was shipped from Ontario on this date.
    - 12 July: received order update from Razer and FedEx shipping confirmation - scheduled delivery date is TODAY.

Interesting note; Razer actually switched my order from "Order in Process" to "Order Complete" on 12 July, one day after FedEx shows the unit shipping and two days after my original order. I ordered when Razer's site listed availability as "5-7 business days". I live in the Chicago area (in case FIFO / regional distribution stock is some kind of factor).

Tl;dr: I pre-ordered the 14" 256 GB version through Amazon but cancelled after four weeks. Reordered directly through Razer and they shipped WITHIN 24 hours. May actually get my unit in the next few hours if all goes well with FedEx. If you ordered through Razerzone, hang in there! If you ordered through a reseller, good luck!
