I ordered on the 25th of June and got the shipping confirmation on July 11 and expecting it the 15th. I prey mines come in one peace as it seems that many people are having issues with theirs.

I have no clue what is going on anymore with my order n#xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

4 days ago I received this email from Razer CS:

" We show that your order is complete, and it will be shipping soon via
Razer-DCL-standard overnight. You will receive a separate shipping
notification email when your order ships."

Then later the same day this email:

"One or more of the products you ordered is currently unavailable and cannot be shipped. You will receive an email notification when your order has been shipped.
    Estimated shipping period:
    Razer Blade 14” Gaming Laptop - 256GB - Ships in 1-2 weeks"

    Yesterday I received this:

"We show that your order has already been processed by our shipping
    department
    .
A Shipping Notification email will be sent out, which will include any
tracking information. If you needed to change the shipping information,
you can contact the shipper with your tracking information and have the
    shipper update your address information."

    And finally today this:

"We show that the product you would like to order is currently out of
    stock
. Although we do not have an estimated arrival date, we are working
to obtain more stock as soon as possible.
If you would like to submit an order for the item now, as soon as
additional stock is received, your order will be promptly shipped and
you will be notified via email."

Could you please tell me once and for all what's the *real* current status of my order, and whether is has already been shipped or not? Half the emails I received make it seem like it is already in transit to its destination, the other half like the item is on 2 weeks backorder. Heck, the last paragraph of the last email sound like I haven't even placed an order yet.

    Best regards,
    Xxxxxxxxxxx

By nature I have never been an early adopter and this is my first jump in the pool so to speak. Have to say I am not a fan of the process. I am spoiled by the fact that with every laptop purchase I have ever made, and there have been many such purchases, I have always purchased product immediately or almost immediately available with 24 hour turn arounds on shipment etc.

The funny thing is that I WANT the upstarts like Razer to succeed. I am so tired of buying Dell and I regret moving to Apple just to get a slim form factor in my laptop. I want new competitors with fresh ideas thinking out of the box and trying to put renewed focus on PC gaming. And thus in effect my Razer Blade 14 purchase is more an investment in the company than simply a consumer sale.

I hope that Razer appreciates that too in some way and that all of these logistics issues and QA problems are just growing pains for what is essentially an evolution in the company's product line.

Ordered my 256GB Blade on july 9th and it came yesterday the 13th. I was gone all day but when I got home I played with it a little before going to bed.

Initially, I really l like this laptop. I came from an Envy 15 with a 1080p ips display. The display on the Blade 14 is, as others have said, not great. Overall though it was not as bad as I was expecting.

I like the keyboard and track pad, and mine at least, has no issues I've noticed yet.

Im downloading steam steam games right now.

Yup, FedEx'd it a few days ago, delivery to Razer is expected to be in about two days. Still trying to coordinate with Razer how I can get it back to me the quickest (whether they can use that return label on my package, at my expense, or if I can change the return shipping address I gave them).

Still, that's another couple hundred out of my own pocket just because I wanted it soon but overseas.

I'm really hoping that when (and if) they do launch the Blade and Pros in other regions (SEA or Oceania), that my warranty can be applied there, even if I purchased it in the US.

It looks like I managed what no scientist has achieved so far: upon placing my order I opened a wormhole, and now it exists in two parallel universes. One where it has been shipped, and the other where it is delayed by 2 weeks ;)

So Ive got a few hours of use on mine so far and I really like it.

A few observations. Does anyone's battery icon ever show a time left along with percentage? I haven't seen it give me a time...

Also, I went into the advanced power options and I limited the cpu to 25% on battery. It should make a pretty good gain on battery and temps when on battery. Task manager says the cpu stays at .7ghz. Im sure if you were doing real work on battery you would notice, but me web browsing, playing music, netflix, and youtube, I haven't noticed much.

Also, The display is BRIGHT. I've been sitting at my desk with a window behind me in daylight and minimum is still plenty. I imagine even in direct sunlight, max would be plenty.

I also have zero static through the headphone jack. I tried alternate combinations of brightness and whatnot, nothing. Using a decent set of regular headphones.

I ordered my razer blade pro 17' (256GB) last monday and received an email about it being on backorder almost immediately. Now a week later i have sent them two different emails because I'm going to be out of the country at the end of the month, and still have not received ANY useful info. You would think that they could get their crap together a month in a half into it. Can anyone give me some info of how long it took them to receive their blade pro 17'? or wether i should just cancell the order.
    Thanks

Has anyone else noticed the screen adjusting the brightness dynamically based on bright or dark scenes? I went into the power settings and it looks like it's shut off/

For instance, if I have Steam up, which is primarily dark UI the shades down a few notches, when I goto Win8 settings, the screen lights up a few notches. It's not too big a deal, but it's still kind of annoying. Is there another place I can look to disable that?

    Thanks

Just wanted to tell you guys what I heard from razer support regarding stocks. Although it is first come first serve basis, they apparently have multiple distribution centers and depending on where you are, the items will ship from these different places, the main one being California. Since there are unit allocations on each side of the US, if there happen to be more people order the east side and exhausting their stock, then the east side will then have people without a unit, and if the west side had someone order, when their distribution center had stock, then they would receive stock faster than those of the east side. If that made any sense. I'm not sure if this is true, but this is the information I got from calling up razer blade support.

After using the laptop yesterday and today, I have to say I'm in love with it. Hopefully Razer will expedite me a new one with a good screen and all will be good. Showcased it to my brother in law vs his macbook air and showed it playing mirrors edge maxed out. Ran like a dream, and he agreed it is thinner than a macbook air at its thickest. Even used the touchpad and it worked great for casual gaming. It stays very cool if you dont game. I think I had to wait for the heatsinks to "burn in". The more time I spend with it the more I like it!

I'm actually quite happy with mine. If it had a better quality 900p screen I'd be 100% satisfied. The keyboard is great, speakers are great, touchpad is great. Fans are extremely quiet and for most games I play rarely even ramp up. Heat in areas I actually touch is a non issue. Such a shame that they skimped out on the screen, but this way they can sell us all on the Blade 14 R2 next year which does have a good screen. ;-)

My 512GB 14" unit is packed up and ready for return. Razer got so close, but it's tough to ignore the relatively poor quality of the display. I understand the argument about refresh time, but I just can't find a vertical angle where the display is uniform and not washed out (either on top or on bottom).

I love everything else about the laptop. An excellent effort marred by a display that's barely usable.

Sorry to say, but last word I got from support last week was, "another 2-3 weeks" (Ordered my 17" 256G on 7/1).

As for the "separate warehouses fulfilling independently", I can certainly see them doing that to save a buck ("free shipping"). From a consumer's point of view (and this close to product launch, the consumers are a bunch of rabid dogs :D) it's not going to sit well.

And regarding QA, they are probably getting so much heat to get these out the door, it's not surprising 1 dead pixel "makes the cut". I hope their attitude isn't that people will suck it up and keep a defective unit because they waited so long for it.

It's not one dead pixel. Even if it was, I'm not ok with dead pixels on a 2k machine. I was ok with it on a $500 acer, but not on this. I will send it back if they don't agree to replace it, and get a rMBP when it gets refreshed.

actually noticed this on mine too but didnt think about the different backgrounds, that makes sense. Yes, going from steam to desktop the brightness does change a few notches. It does bother me since it changes 3-4x every time that happens and you see each step in brightness.

As a side note, I finally figured out to use synapse to turn off my keyboard when the screen turns off. that took me a bit.

I'm still undecided on the screen.. My wife has the alienware 14, and the colors really pop vs the blade, but the blade isnt bad unless I look at her screen. I watched The Avengers and everything looked fine, skin tones are good, color reproduction seems fine, etc. I really think its just an issue for me when I compare it to the alienware.

I'm going to mirror what everyone else says, if only the screen were a bit better it would be perfect, but I really havent had any issues playing games, watching videos or even viewing angles. I did however use it in bed, and my wife couldnt see the screen very well. lol.. Its true, I was sitting up, she was laying down, so in that case its bad, any other time I've been fine with the angles.

I don't blame you at all for that decision, those dead pixels that make it look like a smudge all the time are too detrimental to enjoy the machine, imo. Worse, it's on an already smaller screen.

I might have missed it or it might not even exist, but would you know Razer's dead pixel policy?

Hey Guys. Just wanted to let you guys know that after a month of waiting for my 128GB Blade Pro, I've finally got some progress.

My order status has finally changed from "Order Submitted" to "Order in Process".

I ordered on June 15th, and some where between Today, July 15th, and yesterday, it changed.

I no longer have the notice on the bottom of the page of my Order Details that originally stated that the blade was expected to ship after the release date of 7/15/2013, which was originally 7/8/2013 up until the 6th of July when it changed.

I think it's safe to say that I should be expecting my blade sometime this week.

Hope this brings some light to anyone still waiting and anyone who is still curious about the process others have gone through prior to receiving their shipment.

Min said there were 128 GB versions available yesterday so that doesn't surprise me. PS I have a contact on Razer's Board and I've relayed some of the concerns of customers of product from this forum. I know the feedback will reach the top. I reported the logistics issues and concerns with quality control. It probably won't do anything for anyone waiting for product, but at least we can be certain that they are aware of the issues. Whether they address them is another story.

Here is a picture shown on the razer 14 and my desktop Dell monitor. I've been playing with calibrations, so this may not be the best example, but either way the Razer doesnt look bad at all.

On a 1-10 scale, 10 being a beautiful IPS with vivid colors, and 1 being washed out unusable screen, I'd say this is a 6 or 7. I think I'm going to keep it.

Also to the guys who talked about heat.. I played Borderlands 2 this weekend for 2-3 hours straight, and the fans were quiet, I heard my wifes alienware from across the room over the razers. The area above the keyboard that you never touch, well I touched it, and it was hot, yes, but I could hold my hands on it, nothing too bad. Later I played some fallout new vegas on battery, and it never even got warm, still felt cool to the touch.

Razer uses some of the highest quality active-matrix LCD panels on the market today. Every LCD panel contains many, many pixels; in fact the main LCD screen on the Razer Blade features over 2 million pixels. Each pixel occupies a location within a matrix of rows and columns of addressable locations. Text and images on screen are rendered by turning these millions of pixels on and off.

Each pixel contains 3 sub pixels (blue, red and green) that enable this tiny pixel to render a full color output by turning on and off the corresponding sub pixels. There are over 6 million sub pixels on main LCD panel.

Occasionally one or more of these millions of pixels on the panel may not work perfectly. This can result in an individual pixel displaying only a single color, often referred to as a “bright” pixel. Or the pixel may display no color at all, often referred to as a “dark” pixel. Razer uses some of the highest quality LCD panels available and we adhere to the some of the most stringent specifications on the market for our panels. However, a few abnormalities among the millions of sub pixels are quite possible and a certain number of abnormalities on your screen would be considered acceptable. This consideration of a certain number of abnormalities on a LCD panel applies to all manufacturers, not just Razer.

If you feel your LCD panel has high number of abnormalities, please contact the Razer Blade Support Team at 855-87-Blade and we will be happy to assist you. For support with your Razer peripheral please contact us at 855-697-2037 or Razerzone Contact Us

Very convenient, thank you. If it's possible, a big concern for me as an international customer is the future service centers we can access. I'm hoping that Razer will introduce geographically strategic service centers for their products soon.

    Hey there;

I just logged in to ask this very same question. I have a Blade Pro, and noticed this happening but didn't put much attention to it; I tought it was my eyes adjusting to the brightness since the display IS bright.

But these past few days I realized that it happened when I went from something with a dark background - like Steam, or when watching a movie full screen, or anything dark-ish - to a bright background - like Facebook, or these very forums. At first I thought it was something like tablet's do, adjust the brightness, but then I realized it wasn't that. And I cannot find any settings anywhere regarding this.

Is this "normal"? A display feature? How does this work? Has anyone been able to disable it? It is somewhat annoying, though I could probably learn to live with it.

On the bright side, orders went from "5-7 business days" to "5 business days" on Razer's website. Probably because 5-7 sounds worse to customers more than anything else ;0

Okay, so I have my blade. I must say, I am not impressed with display. In fact, I am debating on whether or not to send the laptop back and ask for a refund. Does anyone know if A) this can be done or B) I should send it back?

Hmm every time I convince myself I want the RB Pro 512Gb Razer does something to convince me that maybe its not for me. Im more of an instant gratification person and have never waited more than a few days for such an expensive purchase. I mean come on Razer 2 to 3 weeks? What is the current production rate of these systems? It must be in the tens per run vs the higher rates. They must also be sharing the same production line with another manufacturer or product.

Spoke to a Razer support guy today and I have to send in my machine a 2nd time! They keyboard backlight died, and it wasn't just a software issue. Can't believe it. I was going to live with the one stuck pixel, but guess it doesn't matter. Sending back this unit next week after the trip I'm taking this week. Really can't believe that I'm getting a 3rd machine. 2k+ for a machine shouldn't mean trying 3 different units before they get it right. I still might just return it next week and go with a Retina, but I'm going to think on it this week. Really not impressed.

Anyone have an issue with the webcam (not detected by windows showing up as an unknown device and razer was unable to get me a driver to solve the issue) on the razer 14? I am now sending mine 14 back for the second time different reason but still not sure how many times I'm willing to put up with this. Just curious if anyone else had an issue. Hopefully not, as I really am hoping the third time is a charm, I can't deal with dead//stuck pixels drives me nuts.

Fingers crossed my unit comes back perfectly and it doesn't have another defect after the repair.

If it does, I'm opening it up myself.

You should run a quick benchmark using a game you both have at native resolution with the exact same graphics settings. It would be interesting to see how much faster the Razer is at 900p vs 1080p.

Yes I am in love with it except the small smear of dark pixels. It stays perfectly cool when not gaming now. Battery life is good, it plays games great. Keyboard and trackpad are dreamy. The font on the keyboard is a bit strange, but I am used to it now. The screen is very bright, and games look great. I reallllllly hope the replacement is defect free. There is nothing else that even temps me in terms of a laptop right now.
