    Just received this from Razer.

Sounds like an auto reply.... :I I just don't have luck with Razer. I sent them another email addressing the same issue to get this dead/stuck pixel issue resolved. Going to call them on Monday during my lunch break if they don't reply by then. Anyone else experience dead/stuck pixel issues and had to get a replacement?

Don't like how they're telling us, the users, what is acceptable and what is not when it comes to defects on such premium machines

    Caeg -

Check my post below regarding hardware problems out of the box. I called razer and received immediate help when the pixels were in my display. Would recommend simply emphasizing that you're not willing to pay 2k+ for dead pixels.

I think you actually posted in my thread so I'm sorry if this is less than helpful!

That helps a lot. I'm becoming worried about this and find the dead pixel unexceptable. I think I remember reading your thread about the dead pixel on your screen. How did Razer resolve the situation with you? This is already my second faulty Blade Pro I've received from them. Thankfully I live about 20 minutes from their California HQ so if anything I'll just drive up and complain in person.

Well I just recently got my second 14" Blade from razer and I noticed today the the pixels in the lower right hand corner of the screen are screwed up. They don't apear to be able to become fully white and instead just stay a muddy grey. Its only noticeable when they try to project whites. So it looks like this one will be going back as well. . Any news on the new gigabyte 14" or a refresh of the zenbook? Because at this point, I'm really getting sick of razor's ty quality control.

This is most likely not an auto reply, it is in fact a direct copy and paste from the FAQ section of the Razer Blade support page.

You should be able to look at your order and see it transition from order received to order in process. If it stays stuck in order received for more than a day chances are that your card was not accepted. I think after three days they will just cancel your order.

Well they've sent me the same reply three times about the dead/stuck pixel issue on the switchblade UI. Very annoying. I called em up and was finally able to get answers. They're sending me an RMA now and I'll be driving to the headquarters in San Diego to drop off my Blade Pro. He said they'll have to inspect it first to see what they do so hopefully they'll just replace/repair it and I won't have to deal with any more issues. :I

Good luck! I'm hoping you can get it repaired on the spot. I don't know how the SBUI is built, but I'm hoping that the screen is easy enough to replace. Let us know!

Does the Razer Blade 14" have the two finger tap that activates the right click menu?

This is repost from #2400... but seems like the post got overlooked...

Anyone found a solution to the webcam green flickering issue? I know a previous thread mentioned the webcam worked fine outdoors. But video conferencing outdoors is a fairly rare event for me. I had all the lights turned on in a hotel room and the constant green flickering while video conferencing via skype is extremely annoying!

Would appreciate it very much if someone here could point to a fix for this issue. As it seems more of a driver/configuration issue, than a hardware issue.

One other note, anyone here knows if the Blade 14 has wifi direct capabilities? If so, how do you set up the connection?

    Thanks in advance guys!

Same here. I mean, I hear the regular fan noise, but I don't seem to be able to pick-up any chirping sound. Maybe it's too high for the video to pick up?

Also, has anyone managed to install the 320.49 drivers? Everytime I run the installer, I get the 'Cannot find compatible hardware' issue on my Pro.

I'm getting this issue with FF14 that it can only seem to use the Intel HD 4600 and not the 765M.

Decided to go with the beta 326.80 drivers instead, installed fine and I removed that 3D option just in case (I remember it seemed to prevent issues). Will update.

I don't hear a chirping sound. All I hear is a cool breeze whoosing sound of the fans.

I have the same sound emitting from my GPU fan on my RB 14 and was wondering if it was normal. It is a sound that I have heard from other fans in other systems, but it seems so much different than the CPU fan sound that I thought it might be an issue. For me I only hear it when the GPU fan is going at a high rate during gameplay.

Quick question to the Blade/Blade Pros:

If I'm facing the laptop screen, the GPU is on the left or the right side of the power button? And the CPU should be opposite of the GPU right?

I'm just wondering because I'm not sure if both fans are supposed to be blowing out air at the same speed? While facing the screen, the left side of the power button has really strong airflow coming from the vents, while the right side has much less. I'm not sure if this is supposed to be the case or not.

Cpu is left and gpu is right when you are facing the keyboard and screen.

I see. Is it normal for the CPU fans to always be venting out more air than the GPU?

This could support my theory that my game now isn't using the 765M, if the fans aren't as strong as the CPU fans...

Yep. Similar with the Asus G series dual cooling fans, the left side will always be running compared to the right one since the cpu is always in use and your gpu is only taxed if needed when gaming/benchmarking etc..

Whoops I thought the GPU was on the left So it was GPU fan making the Weird sound on Mine and not the CPU fan, im still debating on sending it in for replacement Which wouldn't be too hard since Amazon has a good replacement policy

just wanted to drop in and say that I love this laptop. tend to only get issues/problems posted here, not enough love going around.

couple quick notes for those considering purchase.... screen is not the dealbreaker some make it out to be, works fine for me.

only thing I could say is the keyboard and trackpad buttons could have a little better tactile feedback, but im quickly adapting to it and I think it will soon be a non-issue.

Is it normal to have ~20% memory usage on bootup? When I look at my processes there are only a few above 20mb peaking at 90. Just wondering if it's normal or if I should be concerned for my RB 14"

EDIT: Here's a general question too. Can you use a regular headphone splitter to split the headphone/mic combo jack on the RB 14" to allow for two headphone inputs?

Yeah, that amount of memory usage is normal. Windows and most OS's will preload commonly used programs, recent files, and a lot of other things into ram in addition to the typical running processes. Having more ram will also just cause the OS to preload more stuff in ram as well. After all, there's no sense having ram lying around not doing anything.

Have you reported the issue to Razer? I just put in a ticket for my "flashing" green/red webcam. I think all of us that are suffering from it should get in touch with them so they can issue some kind of driver update. It really seems to me that it is some kind of white balance issue and they just need to give us manual control or write better logic for it.

I'm waiting for it to become available on amazon.com or get released in the UK. In a recent interview Min-Liang said they're try to get support ready for all of Europe in Germany and in the next few months release it across Europe.

Yeah that sounds a bit more accurate. I hope more forum goers email Razer so we can get some traction on a fix. Its really a pain that I can't use it to Skype/Hangout my friends. I end up grabbing my phone.

Otherwise, I am pretty darn impressed with this Blade 14.
