Does GeForce experience update you to June or July drivers? It doesn’t on bios 1.00.

That will work for the 300 screens? The 4k this worked but lost video during install, I had to hook up to external monitor and turn off dedicated gpu which lost 120hz and went to 60. Then the system would boot and run fine but only at 60hz without dedicated gpu enabled,

I reverted back to original driver for now to keep the 120hz option, so anyone with a 4k screen, if you decide to do this, be sure you have an external monitor available or disable dedicated gpu before installing.

Thank you! I went ahead and downloaded the driver package and installed it manually, so now Control Panel and Geforce Experience both show 451.48.

I will try not to update the BIOS ever, it doesn't seem like there is any reason to. I'm undervolted and I can sustain gaming and stress tests with no thermal throttling. Did you update yours for a specific reason?

Ok so I received my 2020 17 Pro 4k 120hz machine Friday. Just had a chance to take it out of the box. Holy S$%^T this screen is BEAUTIFUL. It reminds me of the OLED screen I had in my 13r3 AW. The refresh rate and screen res is amazing. It is the MacBook Pro of windows machines no doubt. Fantastic quality and feel.

Can someone that has flashed the 2080 Super Max Q vbios from the 2020 RBPro17 to the Blade 15 Advanced help me confirm something?

    - I flashed the vbios just fine, no errors etc.. - I even see the "this vbios is not for your system" message on startup..

However, when I check GPUZ, my clocks appear to be the same as the Stock vbios for the Blade 15..

I'd appreciate it if someone can please take a screenshot of their GPU-Z on their flashed Blade 15 Advanced so I can compare?

    Thanks!

Nice that is also work for you. I always try to keep my device up to date and I see that other notebook manufactures are also eliminating undervolting. I guess that is what we have to live with in the future. I repasted with liquid metal so my temperatures are just perfect. Under full load my GPU is 70°C and my CPU 78-80°C. It also help to lift up the back of the notebook a bit so more air can be used by the fans.

Currently I have an issue in dedicated GPU mode that the screen goes black when I unplug the power cable. A have opened a ticket by razer. Besides that I notice that he palm rest is heating up a bit when gaming for a longer session. Can someone confirm that? It gets a bit sweaty.

The aluminum chassis acts like a giant heatsink so it will get warm under a sustained load. A cooling pad might help.

Thx for the answer. I noticed that it stays cooler when the battery is not charging. Is there any way to configure the battery settings e.g. Do Not load when at 80% or something like this?

    Hi,

has the 2020 model new fans? Or they have still so high frequency noise? I mean the big main fans.

Same fans as far I know. The higher frequency are the small fans I think. They aren't too bad.

I just discovered that my 2020 pro 17 4k120 allows me to turn on G-Sync in Nvidia system panel. Can someone check to see if to works? I don't have any FPS I can test right away.

Download and install the NVIDIA Pendulum demo as it specifically tests G-Sync compatibility.

Im on BIOS 1.03 in a Blade Pro 2019, everything is working fine, is it a good idea to update to the latest version?

Also, what's the best option to do a repaste with? Kryonaut?

If it's anything like the 2020 models, the latest BIOS will lock out the ability to undervolt via ThrottleStop.

I updated to 1.04 on my blade pro 17 2019 before I did much reading, luckily throttlestop works just fine. I've been able to tweak everything, bring down Temps etc without issue.

Can anyone confirm realistic battery life on these? Either 4K or 300Hz model. Just normal browsing and minor work e.g writing or youtube.

the battery is about 75Wh, same as rb 15. because there are 2 stupid small fans under the touchpad, split the battery space.
the power is about 20~25w during web browsing or writing, so its about 3 hours.

Yeah well then the 4k screen must use quite a lot of power.

At 70% brightness my GS75 uses 12-14w of power when playing a YouTube video.

I wonder if the 1080p RB17 (when downclocked to 60Hz on battery) can hit the 5hrs mark.

With my 2019 FHD, when fully optimised (display at 60hz, power saving mode, 20% display brightness, all lighting disabled and undervolted), I never quite got to 4 hours using a word processor and browsing the web without video streaming. Maybe 3:45 at most before 7% hibernate.

Question for the owners of the 4k 120hz model; are you able to apply 2560x1440 Windows resolution with 120hz? If so, does it look like crap or is it still good?

Thanks for that, can you clarify if you're just talking about gaming, or the desktop environment as well? I'm wanted to know if the laptop can be in a 1440p desktop environment at 120Hz. If it does, I'll be buying it.

No problem, I trust you. I have another 4K laptop that does well at 1440p too, but I'm much more interested in the 120Hz of the 17" blade pro. I just remember my 240Hz 1080p blade was only able to set 240hz or 60hz, and nothing in between. I'm just hoping that the blade 120hz can do 1440p at 120hz vs 60hz on the desktop. But it sounds like it does.

To use framerates in between 240 and 60 you need to create a new resolution profile with CRU before you can use it.

It's a known issue; you'll need to install the latest BIOS to resolve it, but you'll lose any ability to undervolt.

Yes try that, I could flash 130 watt blade pro 3070 with that method on my blade 14, on usual method it gave me the same mismatch ID.

Sadly still the same erorr. I don't understand this. I really think I need a 2070 MaxQ refresh vbios, since my blade has a refresh 2070 maxQ

Thats why I need people with a RBP 17 and a 10th gen CPU. According to some websites the 2070maxQ refresh has a TDP limit up to 115W. But mine is locket to 90 with peaks to 95

Yes indeed that 2070/80 maxq could even peak at 140 watt from HWinfo64 I saw. Unfortunately I don’t have the unit, but better put nvflash folder directly on C not on desktop it’s easier to access imo, btw did you do also — protectoff right?

Is it save to use another branded vbios from a 2070 MaxQ refresh? Or has it to be a razer one

Save, as mentioned on every thread it comes with your own risk, but I did try like more than 20 vbioses? Not mentioned that on tested folder which I think they weren’t going well, like resulting graphics glitches or shutting down the game immediately o_O
I use already forever (3 months?) MSI gs66 vbios, the blade isn’t kaboom yet :D. The important one you have your eyes on hardware temperature and power draw imo, and don’t underestimate lower vbios, the vbios I use also rate lower at 95 watt (3070 blade 14 is 100 watt), and it performs and consume less power (better battery life) even better than using 130 watt blade pro vbios somehow.
