    True.
But you can kind of lock the voltage at 800mv in AfterBurner at certain Mhz, such as 1730-1750....if you want higher Mhz then lock the voltage a little higher 825mv-850mv.

Wow, this actually works and helps a ****ton. Able to lock the GPU core at 1748 megahurtz and locked at 0.800V vCore. Solid as a rock, and running at least 10C cooler. No throttling. I bow to phila_delphia for this.

@Rideass, I did a cpu voltage offset in the Bios....is there something else to do? Like voltage offset for the cache?
Also I noticed some options for thermals....did you play around with that? Does it affect when the fan comes on, etc.?
I suppose the cpu cache offset would be the ringset?

All ok now....I wasn´t seeing any change in the CPU Vid , but now that I set the ring offset....the undervolting is working.....awesome, no more throttlestop for me.

I ran the aida64 memory benchmark and it showed some decent improvement...I did test at 2666 as well, but I don't want to push the soldered Ram.
How do I stress test the memory? with Aida64 will do? Or do I need run memtest or something? Thanks.

The soldered RAM is samsung so I figure it can handle one step up OC without frying it in the long run.

I did mess around with the thermal configurations, like lowering the trip point 0 and 1 but it didn´t change the fan curve....so the fan curve is indeed controlled by the EC and the bios settings don´t seem to have any effect on that.

Is there any risk pushing tbe Ram to 2666? Will it cause permanent damage or just instability? Not changing the voltage or anything like that.

you cannot change the voltage, at least that's what I experienced on the kabylake version

the option is there, but it doesn't save your settings

run hci memtest until you get pass 1000%, then call it stable

Personally I would not overclock the memory, it has no real life gain in performance. Perhaps in some very specific test yes, but considering they are soldered on there I would not even risk it.

As far I understand there is not much risk if not increasing the voltage...mostly instability and sometimes reset the cmos if bios won't load. Maybe some extra heat as well.
I am getting a few extra fps in some games and 150 points extra in my physics score in Firestrike. But I agree, not worth it performance wise, just playing around with my newly unlocked Bios for curiosity....basically the only useful option is undervolting in Bios instead of software.

I am getting good results with locking the GPU at 800mV. Firestrike is 9670 overall compared to 9520 stock (ASPM off), all with less wattage and heat.
    Overclocking GPU +175/400 I got 10201.
The gtx1060 in the RB Skylake is not gimped anymore like when it was released and also performs better than the kabylake version that doesn't have ASPM option in Bios yet.

@Rideass, I noticed my serial number disappeared from Bios after the flash, how did you get it back? Not that I need it now, unless Razer releases another update which I doubt at this point.

Use AMIDEWIN.exe found under Lib\Tools in that package shared a few pages ago.

    Run that command while elevated and update the parameters that says serial;

What 3Dmark Firestrike scores are you guys getting now?

I am getting 10300 consistently now with:

CPU, C-states disabled in BIOS. -125mV on both CPU/cache voltage in Throttleshop. ASPM disabled in BIOS.
GPU, flashed vBIOS to RB14 2017 model. +188MHz on GPU core. Memory stock.

Running Firestrike on the internal QHD+ display at its native resolution.
Fans set at "cool" setting in Synapse. RB14 rests on additional cooling pad.
No thermal throttling, GPU reaches 78-80C max.

System stuttering are gone after vBIOS update with DPC latency at very good levels, cannot get it to BSOD unless I use overclocking in nVIDIA inspector.
Use of MSI Afterburner does not trigger BSOD on the nvlddmkm.sys driver as Inspector does.

Thanks great....I manage to get a little over 10200 in firestrike with +175 OC.
Flashing the Vbios was easy enough? Great that it worked...I will give it a try....anything I should know before hand?
I haven´t disabled C state in Bios.... I will check it out as well.
Yeah I don´t get BSOD in Afterburner, just with Nvidia Inspector, so I was sticking with AB....works great. Anything you use in Inspector that is not available in AB? other than the profiles.

C state disabled, and 10380 in FS with 175/400 OC. Didn´t realize C state would make that much of a difference. I wonder how it will affect battery life....I will check it out later.

I tried this out and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. When I open AFUWINGUI it will read the edited rom file but won't program. My keyboard will freeze and mouse is limited, and I have to press the power button to force a reboot. Happens regardless of running as Administrator. I've tried the touchpad and also external USB keyboard and mouse. Any suggestions as to what is going on?

One time I was able to successfully flash my modded bios but realized I forgot to change the main 6 settings to "user" within the setup folder as well, and not just within the main screen when I open the bios file. I finally was able to re-flash my original bios successfully. I've tried flashing another bios mod that I did which has the correct "user" settings in addition to allowing me to disable ASPM, but I can't get past the reading file stage because the mouse and keyboard become semi non responsive and I can't confirm the program command.

Is there any harm to my Blade if I've successfully flashed back to the original bios, but attempted again 2 reads of modded bios but no flashing (did not program because I couldn't due to mouse / keyboard issue, forced reboot instead)?

In the AMIBIOS_and_Aptio_AMI_Firmware_Update_Utility folder did you follow this path?
    AMIBIOS_and_Aptio_AMI_Firmware_Update_Utility\amiflash\AptioV\afu\afuwin\64
    Probably....just checking.
If your original bios was flashed successfully you are ok.

@Rideass did post an image back....showing an option in the main folder....where you select only one option ....show all items....set that one to yes...and all the options will show, this way you don´t need to select each option you want.

Not sure what is going on with the keyboard, mouse thing...

@Vistar Shook - LOL, I tried again, I never thought to just try a finger press rather than clicking the mouse button on the touchpad. Keyboard / mouse issues resolved. I tried flashing my modded bios but nothing changes in the bios settings and I can't see anything different to enable or disable. My main screen when editing my bios does not look like the image you posted. I don't have an option within the "main" folder to show all items. Back on stock bios for now :/

I see...try to enable in Advanced - Overclocking Perfomance....to get the undervolting options...
Also under Chipset...see if you find PEGO ASPM.
Other than those options not much very useful.

I was finally able to make the Overclocking Performance menu accessible, now I can undervolt the CPU within the BIOS which is awesome! I can't though for the life of me get the Chipset options to become editable. I've tried enabling several items to "USER" in the BIOS editor. I have one last idea, should I simply disable ASPM in the BIOS file through AMIBCP editor? Attached screenshot of what I want to disable. I think the Kabylake BIOS are different from the Skylake BIOS, seems to be much more of a chore to edit.

No luck editing those other options in the Chipset menu within AMIBCP. Nothing else ever appears in my BIOS menu except for the Overclocking Performance menu. Which is OK, I am really happy I can undervolt the CPU within the BIOS and not software. If anyone has any other ideas I'm all ears. Thanks for all the helpful info posted here.

In your image...there is a line that says ASPM...13 rows down...try to set that one to USER....it is on auto...should give the option disable.

Can you show the image of selecting just Chipset, instead of PEG0 Port Configuration? failsafe is what the bios will revert too in case the bios has trouble loading or resetting the cmos....optimal is when you load optimal settings in Bios....in the case ASPM is fine to be disabled, but just to be safe....better find the way that it appears in your Bios.

Something I noticed....is that your ASPM is under the PEG0 Port Configuration...and you set PEG0 Port Configuration, second row...to USER. Ok.
The PEG0 Port Configuation Folder is included in the System Agent (SA) Configuration Folder....correct?
So click on Chipset....and set System Agent Folder to USER.
Then in System Agent Folder...Set PEG0 Port Conf Folder to USER as well.

Success!! Holy cow! I disabled ASPM in the BIOS and have my CPU undervolted -100. At **stock** my FireStrike score jumped to 9975! Graphics score is now at 11,797. This is insane. I figured out what I needed to adjust within my BIOS editing. Screenshots attached. WOW. Vistar Shook thank you, man.

How did you unlock the ASPM in Bios? In case others ask.

EDIT: I didn´t see the image you posted showing the correct path. Cool.

I repasted my skylake RB with Kryonaut.
the temperatures went down a little more after 2 days.
Average CPU temperature is 5C lower, and GPU 4C lower. Nothing dramatic but within my expectations. The main benefit has been that it now has even core temps compared to before.
Original Paste UV-140mV Ambient Temp 21C (Stress test OCCT + FS loop - 30min warm up + 30min Test)

Repaste UV -140mV Ambient Temp 21C (after 2 days). Exactly same stress test.

I would consider that a win and worth doing, lowering temps with just a few degrees as you did will help it not drop random frames and **** with a VR experience.
Not going to do it as I am going to sell mine off asap. Want a proper machine instead of this garbage.

Must say with all the tweaks it runs VR pretty well at normal settings, even supersampling 1.5x some experiences with stable 90 fps.
Been messing around many hours getting the proper experience I am used to from the Oculus DK2 and onwards, and now with the Vive on the Blade 14.
Only game I really want VR for is Elite Dangerous, and its not really enjoyable unless supersampling is possible to 2.0x or above. And the 1060 here is not enough to push 90 fps.

Found myself using my other machine and liking it more. If not only for the damn Killer 1535 WLAN garbage that drops internet connection all the time and messes with the routers all over the place. And do not tell me there is a new driver out there, because I have tried them all. My favorite is whenever you boot up and no internet connectivity for no reason. Disable the adapter a few times and it works... Sigh. Ordered a Intel 8265 instead, have Intel WLAN in all my other machines without ever a single issue.

Hey guys, newbie here, just got my Razer Blade and trying to test the heck out of it before I take it with me internationally.

Some benchmark & test results here -

I don't really know anything about how to judge these results, but trying to learn as best I can... just hoping somebody here could take a look and either reassure me that these all look normal or else let me know there's an obvious fault! Thank you!

Looks fine...you should undervolt to reduce temperatures....pretty much a requirement on any laptop especially thin ones. Check for lightbleed on the screen as well to see if you got a good one.

Yeah for VR the GTX1060 is the bare minimum, so if that is the intention, something more powerful is in order. I agree, first thing I did upon receiving my RB with he killer wireless card was switch it out for an intel 8265.

Yeah, just sold my RB14. Going to get some high end CPU with a 1080 ti. Depends how much you need to throw at Elite Dangerous to supersample high.Or if I have to wait till later this year or next when the Volta cards gets out on the market.
The Killer WLAN is exactly that, a WIFI killer. Network goes down as the router ****s itself.

You need to extract the IFR and then modify the table using a Text/Editor. And reinsert it back.
