Does anyone have the problem with the fans constantly running or kicking in with just one tab open on chrome?

I believe its directly lit by the screen's backlight, so the higher your brightness, the more it shines. Go to Dbrand and order a skin if you don't want to see it, you can choose to have it with or without the logo. I'm a show-off so I'll be keeping it visible ;)

Are you talking about your gs65 or your new Blade 15? I didn’t hear yet such problems on Razer forum, well it’s only from one person though, it’s still too early knowing that imo, usually such unstable fans behavior was after gaming on my Blade late 2016, but it’s addressed with firmware update.
No too early, I think Battery Test would take over a day to check. Maybe YouTuber dave2d will review it soon, if his machine isn’t DOA ;) But I think he got 1060 version, from Firestrike score that leaked before release (already deleted), for max q 1060 was not bad, it was around 10500 overall score when I’m not wrong, same as my 2017 full 1060 model with OC, maybe it was also gaming mode.

Hey all. Regarding the question of logo you can disable the glow in Synapse. It's not automatically lit by the backlight.

Like someone else mentioned, it seems that using gaming mode in Synapse actually overclocks the 1070 a bit. Could you do another thermal test with only high performance enabled?

I’m talking about the blade, the gs65 does it too not as bad. I got ahold of razer tech support and they can’t even. Replace the adapter without returning the whole laptop.

Is it not with Blade 15 right, the Fans noise on idle? Yes unfortunately you seem have to send all systems even only power brick defect.

I see, It’s similar results from Razer Insider, he tested also Far Cry 5 and hit 90. Did you also tried normal mode Synapse not gaming mode, and see the temperature?

Last night I played Witcher 3 for about 2 hours at -.135 undervolt. My temps did hit 99 on the CPU even at this undervolt and it did throttle (EDIT - while hwinfo showed I throttled, there was never a time in game that it seemed like there was a framerate drop). The GPU never went above 80. I'm starting to think that my CPU might just have a really bad paste job as the GPU runs fairly cool but the CPU hits very high temps. I have some on order and will be doing a non-LM grizzly repaste on Sunday.

Fantastic! Can’t wait to see the results. Don’t want to rush you, but the sooner the better cause I need to decide between this and the ASUS GM501S quickly :p.

Ouch...that’s pretty bad, especially when you played The Witcher. It’s good that you didn’t notice performance drops, but the CPU hitting 99 degrees isn’t good for the CPU itself and surrounding components, and will actually shorten the device’s lifespan. If a repaste doesn’t dramatically lower this, I think you might be better off returning it :(

Only in FS Undervolting, no OC temperature hit 90? Hmm I think I’ll keep my Blade 14 2017, same FS test, Witcher 3, Far Cry 5 Max 81 CPU and 79GPU. It is true, that new CPU is really hot.
How did you undervolting it? Intel XTU? Did you try throttlestop also?

Can you measure battery reduce percentage from 100% in like 15 minutes, like on Media consumption or paperwork? It’ll be nice to know.

Intel XTU for undervolt. I can try Throttlestop, but don't have any experience running it at all. Seems more complicated when just trying to do a simple undervolt.

Ok 15 minutes of web browsing, opening outlook and emailing, etc has me down to 94%. Websites were reddit, razer, this one, deadspin, huffingtonpost and gizmodo. So not the lightest lifting in terms of the content with some autoplaying videos and things.

By the way anyone have any info on whether repasting voids warranties still with Razer? I suppose that should be a concern of mine. I saw a thread linking to information about modifications voiding warranty, but that seems to have been removed from their warranty section and I know there was just legislation that basically said manufacturers had to stop doing that.

I will try, I have been super busy I haven’t really got to play fames, just did all the updates

That was normal, I didn’t put it on gaming mode. It seems the gaming mode just increases the fans, you really can’t adjust dan curve either, it just sets a static rpm.

So it’s about 4 hours moderate usage. Around same with mine after a year Blade 14 on 1803 (on 1703 was better over 5 hours and energy save mode paperwork reach sometimes 7 hours but now only over 5 hours).
Yes throttlestop isn’t user familiar as intel xtu, but you just need to click TRL and change the voltage value like on XTU. I think throttlestop is more stable than intel xtu, xtu changes the value sometimes to default 0 in my experience.

That's a great result, even higher than the ASUS at points. The temps are in the low to mid 80s. That is a large deviation from the other results we've seen. Anything special you did?

Those are some intense readings. Do you happen to know what your GPU temps were? I'm going to be emailing Razer to let them know about my high thermals and inquire as to if they are ok with me repasting or simply want to swap mine out.

ThatOldGuy has a great guide on getting XTU’s undervolt to auto load on boot, here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...-under-volt-in-xtu-without-opening-it.802143/

And regarding warranty after repaste, look if you don’t tell them they’ll probably never even look to check. Or notice if they do. Your call, though - gotta do what you’re comfortable with. I don’t know if I’d screw around with a laptop that new and expensive without at least one detailed guide by someone braver than I.

Just went to lunch, I'll keep going on updates and test once I'm back. Gotta install 1803 too...

So ran fire strike 3 times all with -135mv, one with normal profile auto fans, one gaming profile auto fans, and gaming profile max rpms. Links are below. Max fans aren’t that loud compared to the razer 14.

That’s decent resul!! Almost same as Blade Pro 2017 with gtx1080 default. CPU thermal is also not bad.
Thaz is even wow!! I think I’ll sell my Blade 14 :)
I think magic score for that not 14k anymore, 15K!!

Use the snipping tool for your screenshots! Can't read the thermals. Razer seemed to feel the laptop should run 90 max at full load.

I think my score can go up higher, I am at work and the ac is broken, so its about 85 F in the office. Given a colder place it could clock higher.

So far I'm impressed, given what the competition is scoring, Razer is ahead. My HP OMEN X with a 1080 only pulls about 15,600 on fire strike and its double the weight lol
