Had some issues like that with HoN on my other laptop
Go into the Nvidia Control center, Select these options under 3D setttings:
Preferrred Graphics Processor: High-performance NVIDIA processor
Multi display/mixed-GPU acceleration: Single Display performance
Power management mode: Prefer maximum performance
See if making those changes help.

Thanks so much for helping me! -
someone tell me a great blade story. I'm getting one soon.
-
Speaking of customization... I was able to make this in about half an hour.
Wish they would make a native DOTA 2 option! -
-
Which blade do I have? The latest one running Windows 8. I love playing games on this screen!
-
Where did you get it from? I'm sure someone has it with a little discount or something.
-
-
newegg had the first razer blade for 1350 which I would have gladly purchased if I could. Soon as I got the money they were gone and the R1 was removed from newegg.com. Now I am contemplating on R2 and/or looking for a deal on it. -
Quick question to anyone who replaced the HDD with an SSD in their blade.
Did you raid the 64 GB SSD with your new SSD? If so, how do you go about doing that?
I'd rather have the drive show up as a single disc rather than two!
Thanks! -
-
The only reason people RAID their drives is for the speed/performance increase (which you won't see a benefit or performance increase since they're both SSDs) or redundancy (which you don't really need unless you're running some sort of business or important computing). If you RAID for the speed/performance increase, when one drive fails, they both fail. Unless you have 3 drives, which, won't be possible in a Razer Blade.
PLUS, you would need some sort of a on-board RAID controller on the motherboard which isn't built into the Razer Blade by default. So you would have to find a 3rd-party solution somehow. -
I just got the new blade and have been having wifi consistency issues. My ping is fine but i suddenly discconect sometimes. Ive changed the setting on steam too. Is the only solution to upgrade my
router? -

I will say this, I went and watched the PAX 2012 announcement for the blade and it was good and bad. Some of the stuff they announced isn't even on the blade! Min said you could still charge your phone with the laptop off, that doesn't work (for me atleast) -- also, there was a firefall app that they showed off. Where the eff is that at?!
But it also reminded me the little things I take for granted, like the screenshot app, which is awesome. Especially since it gives you the ability to upload directly to facebook! The keyboard being anti-ghosting, huge plus. Being able to bind any key stroke to ANY key on the keyboard, I don't take advantage of this, but that's pretty awesome. Macro app is pretty awesome too. Being able to make my own macro's is nice.
And then of course the track pad being on the right instead of the leftish or in the middle at the bottom. Oh. My. God. Why aren't all gaming laptops like this...I was reformatting my G73 this weekend because I finally sold it to someone via amazon and I was just using it as a laptop for once (when I used it before I had a keyboard and wireless mouse with it) and it was aggrevating! I"ve never used that track pad before I always had a wireless mouse, and I've never used it as a laptop in my lap, it's always been a desktop basically and I've gotta say I'm so happy I got a blade after that experience. It was annoying having the trackpad where it was, and having that bulky thing in my lap was so...weird...it didn't feel right. I almost felt bad for the guy who bought it, wanted to tell him to just get an R1 because he can get an R1 for a few hundred dollars more lol
It's funny how how 1 inch and a few pounds makes in me using a laptop as a laptop or just having it be a desktop replacement! Track pad being on the right hand side definitely helps too. Sorry lefties! -

alright, i'm still lookin for a R1 for 1500 or less or a R2 with a discount or something then.
-
Just came out so probably no one selling a used one on the cheap, and Razer doesn't run discount promo's, they stated the one they did for CES was the first one they've ever done. Best thing you could find would be a free shipping deal with them or something on an R2.
Check out XoticPC too, they're a reseller for the R2 now, if you're looking to get the best deal, it's theirs. They have a 3% discount if you pay in cash (Check/Money order) and you can get a free mouse with it too! -

Rocking Crysis 3 on my Blade R2, also picked up Dead Space 3 from Amazon since they had it for $39 last night, but haven't played it yet. Crysis 3 plays about as well as Crysis 2 IMHO so far. Using the NVIDIA Experience program, it sets the game up at 1280x720 with all settings to high or very high. I prefer to run at 1920x1080 with very high textures but everything else on as low as possible. It looks fantastic, and average right around 35fps (though does dip to as low as 26fps in some instances). Posting this to point out the 660M GTX is a great little card. 555m will probably only be able to run the game at 720p.
Can't wait to run it on the Razer Edge using the control pad soon. -
Quick Questions to anyone who replaced their HDD with an SSD
Did you notice any major performance gains when using all SSD instead of the NVELO Dataplex™ (Cache Acceleration) with SSD and HDD?
I was thinking of replacing my Hard Drive with an SSD, but not if the performance gains won't be largely different than it currently is. -
-
That's very nice, thats a good 600 dollars off. But of course it depends on how well he has kept it. -
As you access files, the Cache drive "learns" what you most commonly access, and it keeps those files on the SSD, all the others are kept on the HDD. So for the stuff you use most often, you shouldn't, keyword, shouldn't, see a difference. Anything you don't most commonly use/the cache drive doesn't have room for you'll see a huge improvement.
Keep in mind you don't have to drop big money on a huge SSD to replace your HDD, you could just replace the Cache drive with a bigger mSATA SSD, make that your primary hard drive, and keep all your junk files on your HDD. You can get a 256 Gig mSATA for around $200 atm, great deal.
Either way you go too, upgrading the mSATA or HDD, both have been done successfully from different users on this forum. Cyanide even posted up a guide with pictures of his mSATA swap too. Very easy. -

edit: where do you live so I can fly there and grab it before you do. -
Now I have another problem, one that everyone seems to be having: Wi-fi connectivity. Wi-fi disappears from time-to-time, restarting the PC won't fix it. The only surefire way to get it to work again is by reinstalling the WLAN drivers. Anyone have a more permanent solution?
-
Searching through Google for solutions to my wi-fi problem led me to a link for yhe Star Wars themed Blade. Whatever happened to that huh
looks like nobody ever got it.

Wow, mouse comes with it too? That's a helluvah deal. Do it. DO IT NOW. $1900 for just a blade is an amazing deal...tossing in an 80-100 bag plus a 60-80 mouse just makes it even better! -
Another quick question for anyone with a Razer Blade running Windows 8
My Blade loves shutting down when the lid is closed for over an hour or the screens been shut off for over an hour. I checked the power settings and there is nothing telling it to shut down, but it does anyway.
Also, its not like a full shut down because when it starts back up everything that was running before is exactly how I left it, but it IS like a full shut down in the sense that I have to press the power button and I see the whole press F12 for boot menu, etc... -
Sigh...even though you never answered my question I'll still answer yours...
Click the battery icon, select More power options. Whichever one has the radio icon selected click on change plan settings. At the left hand side towards the bottom click change advanced power settings. Click the plus sign under sleep, Check your Hibernate after. It will probably have something like 30 minutes on battery, 60 minutes on power, just keep downclicking it to '0' which will show Never. That should fix your problem. Make sure the other ones you have are also selected to the never or disbaled as well if you're trying to make sure the laptop never sleeps/hibernates/shuts down.
Viola. -

It turns that my SSD does not like to be man handled, something about volts and the motherboard. So I deactivated sleep and I only do on and off on it. (It takes less that 10 seconds to turn on anyway.) -
So I recently got a Blade R2 which I had to format to install Windows 8 Enterprise edition on so we can use direct access. Most of the drivers on the site solved my problems I was having but one of the sound devices is showing error code 10. Has anyone run into this? I will post a screenshot shortly.
-
looks like I'm going to have to put my Blade R2 up for sale possibly. Has a 512GB Crucial M4 SSD upgrade, original boxing, and Razer Neoprene Sleeve.... Still planning to buy the Razer Edge at some point. At any rate, any interested folks hit me up, its in excellent condition minus some KB fingerprint travel and the bottom screw caps removed so not sure if Razer warranty is still valid.
-
anybody else play crysis 3 on theirs? quite impressed with the 660m. never big on crysis 2, but this one is much better.

Hi, I'm planning on getting a Razer Blade R2, but given that it's $2500 I kinda want to know what it's like before I buy, if I don't like it then I will have wasted my money,so does anyone here know of someone with the Blade in Vancouver, BC? email me if you are okay with me testing yours:

What do you mean if you don't like it? Its superior to evey other laptop except in the graphics department, if you don't mind dialing back settings a bit, its the laptop for you. That's literally the only sacrifice you make, besides more money of course

likely moving to another church soon, means finding new house, buying new appliances and what not... wife is suggesting the blade go...
