Seeing as razer has never made a high performance laptop with a proper cooling solution, I wouldn't bet the farm on it not sucking.

Hooray!!!!
Does this mean I can pay 3699$ and enjoy cooking my meals everyday before the Pro totally dies out from heat? Awesome!Eason and mason2smart like this. -
Who the hell could even justify spending $3699 on a laptop? I mean if you have the money to burn, whatever, but are those people who they are targeting for this laptop? $2000 for a Razer Blade, $400 for the Core, and another $600 for a GTX 1080...$3000. Who the **** in their right mind would pay $700 ON TOP of that? Who absolutely NEEDS a GTX 1080 to travel with? My friend has a MSI GS43VR and the GTX 1060 in there kicks ass.
The GTX 1060 is more than powerful enough to max out just about every game available at 1080p. The chances of the 6700HQ and GTX 1080 being able to max out every game at 60FPS at 4K seems slim to me especially if there are cooling problems. So what will they suggest, turn down the resolution? Then what the hell is the point of the super glossy, G-Sync, 4K, touchscreen? I'm absolutely baffled by this...the only thing I can think of is that they designed it knowing some people will buy it.Prototime likes this. -
The system should have been priced at $3000 or $3100. And if they couldn't price the system at that range they should have gotten rid of parts to make that happen, even if they had to downgrade the GPU to a 1070 I still think it's worth it. From both a cost savings and a usability perspective.
But hey... I could be wrong about the whole thing... I mean Hypothetically if this were an Apple Product it probably would be priced right there at $3700. So maybe that's just what we need to come to expect. But I think overall it's very inconsistent. I say that because the way the Stealth and the Standard Pro are Priced the Blade doesn't make any sense to be priced at 3700, if the standard Blade with 512gb were priced at 2700, then everything would be consistent. And thank god it's not, so I guess what I'm saying at the end of the day is that if the 1060, Blade Standard runs well that system is priced extremely well. -
That's the only thing holding me back, because this is such a great deal I wish I could pay more for it.

Apple used to get away with this highway robbery a lot more in the past, but although the fan base is still strong, it's dying down a lot with their recent lack of innovation. However, there will still be those paying a premium for the next Apple product.
To each his own and I'm not knocking ones ability to do what they want, but dang... even if one has money to burn, I wouldn't touch it with and 10 foot pole.
I'm curious if that GTX 1080 is toned down or not? Anyone know what the wattage is? I doubt it's 180w...could be wrong and I'll stand correct if I am, but wow...if it's running at full specs I'm curious to see those temps!
Heck I almost want one to tackle the challenge lol...semi joking...
If the GTX is tuned down than what a stupid decision to go with a 1080 in the first place when they could have gone with a 1070 instead....
Looking forward to hearing more news....

A sane me would spend an amount of 1000$ AT MAX for a laptop. There have been exceptions from the Pascal refresh which entirely changed my mind. I'd totally pay 1499$ for a GT62VR with a 6700HQ and a GTX1060. But anything higher for a better 1080p experience is a waste of cash. -
This however will bite whoever buys it , in the ass. -
Apple is absolutely over priced, however, the quality is there and for the intended purpose that it was design for it does what it does very well. Nothing can touch the macbooks design and quality. No not even copy cat Razer. The XPS is close, but it's still a race to play catch up, especially with the newly released MBP.
Adobe Premier runs better on AMD with Open CL so for content creators the Mac is very practical, expecially for portability.

Wow you guys are savage... no wonder I generally stick to the clevo board. I for one already have a blade on order... just a 14 inch one. Mostly because I have the clevo. My current blade has been the best portable gaming solution I've ever had. I'm over heavy and thick designs unless it's a desktop replacement and staying at home. Anyway there is a market for this and there always will be, as long as it doesn't overheat of course .

Physics seem to dictate, that there's no way you can cool a full fat GTX 1080 in such a chassis. Early reviews will be interesting.
I honestly thing the Blade Pro would be a much larger success, if they drop the gimmick touchpad for a traditionally placed one.Tyresian likes this. -
The challenge that I'm interested in would be to see what it can do with the given chassis when put to the test of it being at its maximum potential with a proper repaste etc...
I'm opposed to the GTX1080 being in these thin profile chassis, it's just that from the under the hood pictures so far, they could have done better with the use of more heat sinks.Last edited: Oct 29, 2016 -

The assumptions about the 1080 Desktop being in the Blade and causing heating issues are coming after seeing the results from other laptops.rinneh likes this. -

I predict this will be like 15% on average faster than a 1070... Not enough to justify that price.. Especially with 6700HQ. They should have put a 6700T in it for the 3.4ghz across 4 cores.. And it only needs 35 watts (less than the 47 watts required by 6700HQ). Lol. This system is banking on Razer notebook fanboi's and that's purely it.

I'm still very curious to see what the battery life is on this thing. Can someone please tell me or give me an update on 4k gaming on a laptop. My questions are like how major is 4k gaming? Is it a fad that will come go and pass, similar to that of 3d gaming? As we move into VR, I'm wondering if mobile 4k gaming is really a thing and people really want to do it and if we'll see it running mainstream in the near future.
When I see systems such as these will people actually purchase the system to just that 4k gaming?Last edited: Nov 3, 2016 -
What is release date for the rbp? Is it coming out soon? It still doesn't allow to purchase online. Thanks
-
Do we know yet if the GTX1080 is tuned down? Or will it be at least 180W?

Any info on release date?

Awesome. Yes, there should be a free version at futuremark.com. You can also use the heaven benchmarks. Basically anything to load the Gpu. Given that Deus Ex is supposed to be demanding, I think you answered the question though. Thanks a lot!
