Yeah yeah, it's fine, just don't use the integrated graphics. I just played defense grid for a bit and it got the same stop error, but it was using the integrated graphics for some reason too. It's totally stable now that I forced it to the Nvidia chip. Bioshock Infinite runs awesome btw, no need to turn the settings to low.

Have you guys all purchased the gamepad controller ($250) accessory or are you using a combination of dock keyboard/mouse/xbox controller ??? was wondering if $250 is a necessary expense for the complete experience ???

I spent way too much on this tablet already... -
I am considering selling my macbookpro and getting this since I have a m18x ... any suggestions ... since this will get me mobile

but to answer your question, I didn't get the console dock, controller dock, or anything else... just the tablet. After dropping like 1300 bucks, I'm pretty much wiped out. I will definitely end up picking up one (or a few) of the attachments later when I have the money, but for now I'm just going with the tablet. I have a wired Xbox controller that I think will suffice just fine. -
I just got the tablet, the accessories are nice but too much more $$. I have enough laptops and other devices, I won't be hooking this up to my TV ever. The keyboard might be worth it though.

Has anyone here tried opening the Edge to see if it can be upgraded? There is a guy on ebay selling an Edge that he upgraded to 10gb ram and a 240gb SSD. If it's an easy process, it would probably be cheaper to get the lowest end model and then throw in a upgraded SSD and ram. I will post the link but remember that I do not know this guy and it's not my auction.
Razer Edge i5 Upgraded to 240GB and 10GB RAM New One of A Kind not Pro | eBay -
The only issue is that the warranty is totally voided.
-
hmm, don't think i'd buy an i5 edge for that much money considering the i7 256gb with 8gb ram is cheaper... now if it had 512gb or 480gb ssd maybe...

that's hilarious. got mine hooked up my 23" Samsung when not in controller mode. really rarely use it standalone in tablet mode. as for touchscreen search boxes, I've found you have to hold your finger a little longer to make the kb pop up. no big deal. installing batman arkham city goty now. need to try the tomb raider patch. anybody open theirs up yet (brave soul), besides the guy claiming to on ebay?

Best Buy has an estimated ship date for the 28th - 5th for my Razer Edge. I really hope it ships out early... I've called them twice last week and they keep telling me they're waiting on Razer to ship more product to them.
I gotta say... this whole experience has been frustrating. How does a company make money when 90% of its products are out of stock and take 4-6 WEEKS to ship? I understand Razer is a small company, but this is ridiculous. They should have stockpiled warehouses of these tablets before they opened up orders. This whole "Let's let the tablets trickle out as we make them" model is frustrating and dumb, especially since I know people who have been waiting about 2 months now. -

It seems like all new Razer releases are always sold out for a long time. Off the top of my head, the Tiamat, Sabertooth, Blade Gen 1, and the Onza were all OOS for months when they came out. Hell, even the Ouroboros came out last year and I still haven't been able to find one at retail price. I guess they underestimate demand for each and every product that they release.
-
Best Buy is telling me that if they can't fill my order 14 days after the estimated shipping date, they're gonna cancel my order. I really hope this isn't the case...

Let us know what happens. I have credit at Bestbuy and that's where I plan to order one from in a few weeks.

the thing is, for any company, when you build a product, you can only build so many based on your allotted capital, which is based off how many you think you can sell at initial release balanced by how much money you can invest into that particular product. that makes it extremely hard for a company to keep a large stock pile of a certain product at launch, particularly an expensive product that they arent 100% confident of profitability yet. what makes it worse, is they also have to budget in all the other products they make as well. Im sure any company would love nothing more than to supply each and every customer that wants a product at launch, a copy of that product, but realistically they cant due to budgeting, time to manufacture and other costs. not to mention the fact that on a new product like the edge, they have some amount of money spent on R&D which most likely came from that initial budget as well. Hence, why Razer continually changes their newer products on the store page from notify me to preorder and back, as they can only fulfill so many pre-orders per batch that are created. now this is not to say that they probably dont have a few hundred squirrled away but those are most likely held back for RMA purposes, contests, press events etc. where they need to have one. otherwise, you would end up having a huge waiting game if you needed to RMA your shiny new edge pro, and had to get in line with all the next run produced.
Im not sure how Razer deals with the third party sellers like amazon and best buy, but logically i would think they would take their batch, lets say 10,000 and divide it up based on what they project the sales and particular markets would be. so maybe 2000 for the razer store, and 4000 each for amazon/best buy or whatever. im guessing at the numbers obviously, but i would bet money they have a similar system.

I know I might not be in the right place but maybe you guys can help me out. I'm looking at a Eurocom Panther 4.0. It can be configured with 2x 4GB 680M SLI, and an Intel Xeon E5-2687W Cpu, 16Gb 1600 Ram, and a 660W PSU for $6407 USD. Can anyone give me some info on this company and the build quality of their notebooks? Thanks
-
Yeah, just got my email. (Two actually, one saying the preorder date has been changed to April 25th.). The second saying my order would cancel if it can't be shipped by April 30th -
I only got one email, saying the release date had changed to today (the 25th)... I didn't get any email about an order cancellation if it hasn't shipped by the 30th
-
Lame, Razer store isn't taking Paypal any longer. Or at least not for me which is weird as I literally ordered an orbweaver stealth on sat with paypal

-
Just got an email from Best Buy saying they're gonna cancel my order if it doesn't ship by the 30th.

Does anyone know of a place to buy the controller from? Since the controller is pretty much a necessity, I thought they should be available at least in a 1:1 ratio to the tablets. I have yet to see any controllers in stock for the past couple weeks.
-
Does anyone know if you can get a replacement battery and/or of any external batteries that might work with the Razer Edge? (Since it features a proprietary charger there's no tip on your typical external batteries)
The biggest issue I'm going to have when it gets here (due for delivery on Wednesday) is battery life, a second battery (if you can even open the back?) or an external battery (maybe one with an actual outlet?) would help correct the problem.. -
thetruth1983 Notebook Evangelist
I read in a review (don't remember which) that you can charge the extended battery directly without attaching it to the Edge. If that's the case, you can buy a couple of extra extended batteries and keep them with you while swapping them out on the charger. The only issue is that you cannot use the extended battery without either the controller or the upcoming keyboard dock.

I don't much like the gaming controller and the keyboard dock isn't released yet, it poses a problem for me because I can neither use the extended battery nor use any alternative..

The Razer store, i'm located in the USA east coast.

Amazon on the 256 model
$1669.99 $1,449.99
Usually ships in 1 to 3 months
ouch 1 - 3 months good grief -
The 256 model is 1-3 months but the 128 model is 5-7 business days?

I just placed a order for the 256gb. With newer games that are 20-30gbs, 128gb is not enough for me. Hopefully they put the controller up for pre-order soon.
