I don't mind but it will cost you more and take more time than if you make it by yourself because I will need to order the sleeve from another country, the time to receive it and the shipping cost, it's really a waste.

I really didn't do anything special, I just used the sleeve, swap the money clip on the portfolio case and the sleeve, that's all, it only about using the right items.

Waiting for an affordable keyboard dock for years...

 

At the current state you better just make something by yourself, either you won't never find anything, either you'll find something not worthy because too expensive.

 

I did buy a stand and BT keyboard years ago. Still would try that keyboard dock for a resonable price.

 

I heard lots of bad thing from it, I'm not sure it's really worthy.

Hey Ncliam, it's not bricked, same thing happen to me ages ago and was so frustrated AF.
anyway, if you can back read this forum, you can follow one suggestion the solved my problem as well - "Replace the SSD inside"
doesn't matter if it's 128 or 256 or higher, as long as you can install a windows os in it, it's good to go.
as for your default/stock SSD, you can buy an enclosure and connect it to usb, just in case you still want those files inside your razer's system.

 

Hi, its been awhile since I played around with my razer edge, and recently, I found out that my cpu has been thermal throttling. I need to redo the thermal paste, however I don't know what screwdriver I need to open the bottom of the razer edge pro, please help me!!!

I’m sure this has been asked but this thread is huge. Any suggestions for constant overheating shutdown? Already cleaned and re-thermal pasted. Fan is operational. Tried with and without vent filters. Sent it back when it was still under warranty, same issue.

Unfortunately not because there's no use for the Razer edge pro alone.

Somemore if I sell only the docking station I would sell for at least 400€, so better buy everything together (it's quite a good deal, means for 200€ you have the razer edge upgraded with 1Tb et 12 Gb ram)

Guys - just wondering if anyone has succesfully installed Windows 10 on this? I know when the upgrade from Windows 8 to 8.1 was done we had to download some new drivers for the gyroscope and a couple of other devices - but it worked.

Just wondering if Windows 10 will choose all the right drivers and be good to go?

 

No problem, the only thing that doesn't work anymore is the screen rotation, everything else works flawlessly. The button to pop the keyboard only works under tablet mod which seems relevant.

One other thing if you have a docking station, duplicate on Windows 10 doesn't seem to work properly.

this is excellent - just a couple more questions:

1) Did you perform an upgrde from 8.1 or a fresh install
2) Did you need to search for additional drivers to get anything to work or did Windows grab them on its own

I did both, I didn't encountered any problems, if your windows is clean just upgrade or else you will have to install everything back.

The only thing you really need to install if you make a windows 10 clean install is Nvidia drivers for the gpu. I didn't have any problems without Razer drivers, it doesn't mean there isn't any, but I believe those drivers are useful only below windows 10, this is the reason why Razer advise to stay below windows 10.

I lend my Razer Edge Pro to my little Sister. She used it for 3D Modeling and Webdesign. She gave it back to me recently. She told me she dd a factory reset. A few days ago I wanted to fire it up again and surprise: it sticks in a boot loop. first I received ed an error message ("The Computer Restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error")
which I was suppose to solve via the registry editor which I could access back then (here is how https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...pectedly/b770f14d-e345-e011-90b6-1cc1de79d2e2)
But now I stuck at the next issue. For a split second I see some sort of setup screen which states "Progress 64%" and than it reboots only to do this all over again.

Is anyone of you having an Idea how to solve this? A new SSD?

Hi Mate,

if you email Razer support they will send out a usb stick for your model so you can reinstall Windows. they sent me one from the US to the UK

If that doesnt work then you should troubleshoot with them to diagnose the issue. SSD is most likely though.

Heya, it's been awhile. So I've finally fired up my razer edge pro again, and found that my system had stuttering issues, overheat issues (101c) and just in general bad performance, so I went and got some artic thermal paste, repasted the CPU, GPU and one other chip that idk does what, and it seems to have done wonders for my system . Now I no longer get any stuttering issues, max temp I've seen is 93c and the system just seems generally better (my first time ever doing a repaste) (I used Arctic Silver 5, please tell me if this is alright as I can't find any write up on what thermal paste to use)

Just booted up my Edge for the first time in forever and there are vertical lines on the right hand side of the screen. :/

Anyone have any ideas on how to address?

 

Maybe cable wire inside, happened on mine and fixed by arranging cable wire inside, didn’t need to unscrew anything only the back cover lid. In my case was dropping it several times, maybe it was the culprit.

P.S.- Disable Video Encoding in Chrome to fix Windows 8.1 black screen issue and disable Xboxstat.exe in startup so L3 can work as Stadia Button. Enjoy!

 

Did you happen to do a video or take pictures on this projects? My Razer Edge Pro is still my primary computer so I am cautious as it is working great. Definately considering repasting in the future as after 4+ hour gaming sessions performance has decreased.

I’ve even with a new extended battery pack that literally never used, bought that occasionally think last year, idk if I should sell it kind like it but the edge and all its pheriperals sleep literally last 2 years in my cellar LoL. I am trying to recover my razer edge pro since so many times.
Just After a simple test of macrium to make my backup, my ssd in the msata slot can’t boot anymore ????
He is only detected by USB with the adaptator.
Also, I can’t reach the bios because he ask me a password.
So I can’t deactivate the boot secure and use any recovery live os.
I ask for the recovery media and the bios password to razer but they can’t help me because is a legacy product
So I am stuck in …
Also when I launch the tablet without any ssd or anything I don’t get the possibility to go to the bios (his gone).
I just see the razer logo.
The boot menu also disappear and a cmos reset didn’t make anything
If someone can help me?
Do you have an iso of the recovery media ?
And maybe the bios with a flashing tools?

I’ve original usb recovery from Razer somewhere, but it’s gigabyte file I think more than Dropbox limited 2gb since it contains windows, dunno other way to share. I got it as well after long way the guarantee finished from them like back in 2017, guarantee finished around 2015. I sent mail to support US and Germany office sent it to me. Maybe you better try ask them again if they have file somewhere I believe like on system department, they should have it.

Late reply but no it can still play GeForce now really fine especially with game controller dock but, yes I’m considering getting 2021 win max maybe try AMD one, never had AMD device.

 

if you can make a clone of your recovery media it will be so helpful

Can you check it if its properly uploaded, maybe one hour later still uploading? Not sure about bios things i couldnt access with usual volume down press thing somehow maybe later check using external keyboard f1/2.
Edit: It’s (free edition one) apparently limited to 5gb, the recovery disk is 7gb so needs to upgrade to premium, well let’s see since it’s already in the middle process, if couldn’t I’ll try to repack it and reupload.
