Woodzstack's NBR Feedback thread.

sorry for posting this so long after purchasing the card i have only just found this thread

Brought a GTX980m back in July 2015 for the laptop in my sig.
the card was dispatched promptly & arrived in the UK quickly, it was packaged well with all the required parts including thermal pads
the GPU has an asic quality of 72.4%

would defiantly buy from again, the time my next upgrade comes around

I ordered the 970m card. I was assured it would run cooler then the original 880m that came with my Alienware 17. And that it would work well with my system.

I'm happy to report this has been proven true. The 970m runs 15-20 deg Celsius cooler than my original 880m (which crapped out less than 2 years from buying the laptop).

But the biggest reason i recommend doing business with woodzstack is his great communication. I've never waited more than a few hours between sending an email and receiving a reply from him (except when the time difference made it unreasonable; he has a right to sleep ).

So in conclusion, I highly recommend this seller and will do business with him more should the need arise.

Just picked up my new 980m 8gb from Woodzstack last night, installed it today. works like a charm, if only nvidia would get their crap together and stop crashing geforce experience.

10/10 would definitely use woodzstack again.

Finally got around to getting everything working exactly how I want it, where has all the time gone? Got a 970M from Woodz a few months ago for my M17x R4 and the performance is great while staying quite cool.
Card was promptly tested and shipped in good packaging, no concerns about damage despite the long international (but duty-free ) journey.
Woodz was very helpful with getting things set up and was able to quickly hooked me up with the right heatsink when I realized my 3-pipe was made for cards with a thinner die (turns out there are several 3-pipe heatsinks for the R4 that look nearly identical). He definitely went above and beyond the call of duty with post sale support, A+

To anyone considering a similar laptop upgrade: Woodz has the best price I could find, great quality, and great support. Highly recommended!

Whew... wanted to give feedback sooner, but I hit a few snags -- my fault, of course, or my lack of knowledge in some cases to be more precise.

I got a NVIDIA GTX 980m card a few weeks ago from woodztack, but I only got around to properly installing it less than a week ago. I was upgrading my GT72 2QD from the 970m it came with. Both are very good cards, of course, but the 980m I got from woodztack is blowing my mind. It is awesome when I overclock it -- I'm not overclocking too much, mind you, since at stock it performs so well. When I tried to install the card, woodzstack was extremely helpful with advice and pointers.

The snags I got into were first from the heatsink -- the gap between the vRAM chips is a little bigger than I expected, and the pads that came installed had gotten so dirty, because the environment here is extremely dusty (I live in a desert, and the area is very windy, do dust gets into ANYTHING, no matter how careful one is). Once I got some extra pads, and with the ones woodztack provided (I also messed up some of those, but again, that was my lack of carefulness), I was all set.

Also, a problem I did not realize I was going to bump into at first, is that the 970m and the 980m cards are different, and not just regarding performance at stock: they behave somewhat differently when overclocked. No complaints, just a heads up to anyone doing a similar upgrade: if you have any system or driver tweaks you have to readjust those -- even though both are Maxwell cards, but that is to be expected regardless: no two cards, even of the same model are the same; but the 980m and 970m do behave somewhat differently, especially regarding overclocking. Also, the vBIOS behaves slightly differently for both cards -- I flashed a modded vBIOS into both cards, so that is also part of the difference in behavior.

Anyway, I am very happy with the card I got, and if you intend on buying something from woodztack, I would say GO FOR IT: you get great quality at a great price. And despite being very busy, woodzstack was a mensch: very helpful and patient.

(Also, if anyone is doing a similar upgrade, I am more than willing to help out, having gone through the process.)

You guys need to @woodzstack me in these so i get noticed, or I forget this even exists. I try and give VERY high ASIC%. The cards I sell are not some drop from a pile, each one tested and weighed to order... sometimes people wait a year to finally install the card, imagine the shock finding out the whole time you were sitting on this gem that had a very good value ..

hello, sir. Could you please find gpu thermal moudual for 980m, cpu heat sink and screws and thermal pads for P570wm3? I have replaced the thermal pads, but slightly thinkness difference weaken the firm contact on cpu. last, the most important, the touch console which controls the wifi, voice and camera(not the touch pad),yeah I need it as mine is broken. thank you , please reply if it is possible to get these thing: two gpu heat sink, cpu heat sink, with all the thermal pads ,screws and touch cnsole(the newest version).

 

By the way, when is the z270 version of 16l13 avalible? Is the recent quality situation stable enough for 16l13 from eurocom?

 

I can not comment on anything Eurocom without thier explicit approval anymore, even if I am one of thier revellers, rules of this forum. However - there is not yet a "F5" that I am aware of with Z270 chipset or of one in the works, since these come from MSI actually.

You wanted some thermal pads and paste ? I have plenty of options, I can make you a customised set as I do on occasion when someone needs.
get your post count above 5, finish your profile (Pet peave of mine ) and such (Avatar, signature about your favourite food and movie etc whatever floats your boat), and once your post count is above 5 you should be able to left click my "Avatar" and get an option to start conversation.
Then we can carry on whatever transaction you like to help get those thermal pads you wanted.

This guy is simply awesome! I bought gtx970m from him couple of months ago and now I'm waiting for a tornado f5 from him. Woodz is very patient and people can actually pay in installments if they want. No need to cash 2k $ instantly and that's a great option in my opinion.

But i'm little bit suffering with my Sky X9E, still waiting for the MB, hope that will fix it once and for all, I can't invest anymore in this laptop after you replaces my 980m's then the MB will be replaced, this is the last try to have it working.

I like you @woodzstack, and I'm expecting a bright future for you, someday you will be one of the market leaders.

 

That would be nice. I bet it will take 20+ years, but I will work my arse off to be there !

I've got my F5 on monday and i couldn't be happier with it.Woodzstack is the man if anyone needs a tornado f5 or anything else for laptops.

I bought 2 x GTX 980M 8Gb cards to go into my Alienware M18X-R2 from Woodzstack, I am extremly happy with the price, delivery and all the back up help with this has been incredible. I would have been really reluctant to tackle a project like this at my level of experience without the support I got from woodzstack, both with making sure the cards were going to work well in SLI to getting me the modded drivers so it will work in my M18X-R2 to all the assistance with installing them and also the help with the other stuff that had nothing to do with the graphic cards.
We will be defiantly talking again when it's time to upgrade my friends M18X-R2 latter this year.
