Got myself my GTX 1060 which was a lottery ticket GPU with everything I could possibly need to make it fit to my heatsink.

Definitely one of the good guys. Bought a Eurocom Q5 laptop from him (specs in my signature). It was my first purchase from him, and my first online laptop purchase ever, so I was a bit nervous and asked a ton of questions. He was very patient and helpful throughout the process - excellent communication and co-operation. When the customs guys in my country wanted the invoice in a specific format, I sent him a request for the same and he responded within minutes, which was very impressive indeed given our very different time zones.

I have no hesitation recommending him to anyone looking to buy from him.

Finally got time to sit down and write this. Communication was on point, responded within a few hours and answered all my questions. Ordered a Sky X7C from him, performing exceptionally and running as cool as a laptop could. No issues for now and shipping was very quick. This was my first purchase from him but, I'll definitely be returning for more, if need be and recommending his services to others.

Just got my new GTX 1060 into my m17xR4 with almost no problem. Fast shipping, fast responses, and @woodzstack made sure to walk me through what was needed to get everything running at 150fps+. Edit: First tests had me looking at 150+ for all stages. The Witcher 3 running at 90fps though and all games running without a hitch. Heat is not an issue, running a smooth constant 55-59C. Obviously some games are capped on FPS, but I was a little exstatic as I have been running on integrated graphics for a couple years now. The Intel HD4000 just doesn't cut it when it comes to the powerhouse graphical games.

hi!! sorry for my bad english, (or wrong topic) i have a question. recently i upgraded my alienware 17 (year 2014) display to an 120hz one(goodbye Optimus ),
right now my specs are i7 4710mq GTX 880m and i am planning to upgrade it to an 1060 BUT!!!... before i was reading this forum i updated my bios to A15(because im stupid AF) how do i rollback/flash my bios to an A14+?! do i need to do this? im affraid to brick my good old friend ;(

Woodzstack is without a debt the best person I have ever done business with. Fixed a lot of my self-made errors, and when it shipped from Clevo it did run too hot, but yeah, very much appreciate the level of expertise he has.

@Lynx2017 not out of the hotwater yet, I fixed the screws and junk, repasted everything, redid all the pads, I removed the heatsink you had on your NVMe because it has warped and crushed the NVMe drive though seems to still work.

So much of this laptop is in bad shape, it's a wonder it works at all, but I am honestly testing it now, and it does seem to have some unexplainable issues, if I had to guess based on what I know, these might have been here for awhile, maybe even since you received it. You should have sent it back, when it was under warranty, IMO.

I've fixed temp issues though, but what appears to be temp issues sometimes is not, so I need to look a bit into it's performance, luckily I've sold and configured dozens of these so I know this laptop pretty well, and know what to expect. I'll PM you to find out what sort of settings you use etc...

 

Gladly I would like inform you officially I got the machine P870TM1-G AKA Eurocom X9C. I really appreciate your time which you spend in chatting with me and seriously its was too much and putting all the fact and cross checking other info for me, I can understand tough for you whenever I come with different queries for single parts and I started with X4C and ended up buying X9C due to light I was pain in a$$ even when I changed my mind still but you supported any how . You are friend as come reseller.

However man you have done the wonderful job and with great price. I'm really impressed and satisfied. A satisfied customer is the best business strategy of all.

After having problem with my temps, I reached to woodzstack who lives close to me.

After some chatting, he decided that a repaste and repad was needed.

He did all sort of tricks, because he's a magician.

Now, my 8700k and my 1080 works like a charm; Barely breaking the 70s for the CPU AND GPU (Yes, that's right, a 1080 barely breaking 70 during gaming in a laptop)

It was worth the money, it was worth the wait, I will love @woodzstack forever.

Yeah your laptop was a tough nut to crack, I mean I had to do better than EUROCOM's second attempt to fix your temps. It's sad that I succeeded, but good for us !

Remember what I said though, without shims they do not make perfect contact, but I did my best to make it make as much contact as possible, if you use the laptop in the winter from a very cold boot, and the temps seem worse, let me know, that could be a sign of the metal shrinking and contact worsening, if not at the least while its summer and humid and warm it should be making perfect contact while in use, but let me know if anything arises in the future. Better to be safe then sorry, and you might not have any issues at all too.

I am currently working with Woodstacks to upgrade my Clevo P770 DM-G

originally we had a EURO GTX 1070 sent out to us which indeed booted up to microsoft basic display so was encouraged, after help from Woodstacks I modded the drivers and managed to install the card fully, upon testing HEAVEN BENCH we saw some really impressive scores so I continued on to game testing with BATTLEFIELD 1, while this ran well when it was running it would crash quickly with a white screen.


After contacting him about the issue he mentioned some known issues with BATTLEFIELD games and aftermarket GPUS so I persevered and tried testing in other games to have the same issue, and eventually Bang sparks and a dull ache in my stomach thinking the worst, indeed the card had spectacularly blown and burned at component level.

We have arranged a return that he says has been received and replaced and has been sent out to me, so our journey continues, will update as we go on

 

It was a resistor on the back that had blown, that can happen to almost any card at anytime, there was nothing spectacular about it. I had this happen to me on a speed control recently, same 100k Ohm resistors, the usual large current going through, and randomly sparks and blowing.

Anyways, I would not suggest it is going to happen again, and sorry it happened in the first place for what it is worth, I would recommend some EM shielding in the area where the component blew up, it could have been extra heat or EM from that area of the motherboard that helped trigger it too. In Alienware's it actually was the case with AW17's and why we created these TEP modules for them.

But - the card replacement is sent out, I believe, actually you should have it about by now, but hard to predict around holidays, so maybe 1-2 days at the most ? Let us know, and hopefully no more snags. These cards are essentially ONLY used for aftermarket upgrades in the absence of direct support from NVidia, so we essentially try our best to support as many models as possible, but it's difficult to get everything right when there are so many intricacies, but we try our best. Hey @woodzstack just dropping in to say thanks for the 980M and IC Diamond I bought on your eBay store. That was 3 years ago now and the 980M has since found a new owner but it served me well. The IC Diamond is always going to be useful down the road. Cheers.

My friend reached out to woodzstack to upgrade his Alienware 17 (to a 1070) a few years back and was very satisfied with the GPU, Heat sink and responsiveness

He recommend me to speak with woodzstack if i ever decided to upgrade my Alienware, which i did, and woodzstack highly recommended me to get a 1060N instead of a 980M (bit faster and lower temp).

I was able to buy a brand new 1060N with a customized HS from woodztack and got it within a weeks time. This is super fast since i live in Australia.

My sister eventually wanted to upgrade her GPU as well and bought we bought another 1060N with the HS.
