    Hi All,

What happened to the easy interface and method showed on the 1st page? I installed as instructed and rather than a folder with the 3 apps I got one exe which when installed opened to THEcomplicated interface with sliders shown at the bottom of the guide and nothing where I just had to enter cpu speed, mult. and what speed I wanted to overclock to. Was the easy interface, almost automated program changed to this complicated one. If that's the case it's useless to me. I'm not computer savy enough to use it and can't even find the pll or multiplier for the cpu anywhere (AMD sempron 1.8 ghz) anywhere. Help please and is there any way to get the download described on the 1st page anywhere?

    Thanks in advance,

    Bill

Sorry the cpu is an AMD Duron 1.8. Anyone know what the correct clock generator setting is?

    hello

thank you for this tool, but i am having some problems, with the newest version of setfsb (2.2.134.98) and windows 7. i have the right pll and setfsb can set it. my problem is when it the computer starts up, autotooloc on does not seem to set it. the configuration tool works to my knowledge.

does autotooloc on and off not supported in the new version of setfsb or windows 7?

    thanks!!

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit

CPU: Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo T7200 Merom 65 nm Architecture.

Interestingly, the clockgen does not seem to be listed in the service manual.

Service manual now in my sig if you are interested/want to physically look for your clockgen.

i have setfsb (2.2.134.98) and windows 7 and this version has my clock generator. the program from the OP contained an older version of SetFSB that did not have my clock generator. would have been a great tool thank you.

Just an update,i dont fully understand what i am doing with this tool but i set my x9000 to 3300 mhz with no gpu oc and achieved 11343 3d mark [email protected] soon as i try and up the gpu it is unstable as hell,if i could oc the gpu i think i would surpass 12000.Now that would be something!!

Just messing around again and hit 11878,with a setting of 3345 mhz and a small oc on the gpu 515-899-1375,but this is it no more i am gonna burn it out if i continue

Do not use FSB overclock with GPU overclock! Whats your bios cpu setting? Is it already on 3.2 GHz with the extra multipliers?

I can,t go higher with setfsb than stock with my gpu oc. With no oc on the gpu i can go to 3.1 GHz.

BTW: test it with a good benchmark tool like unigine tropic ive you want more frames.
    http://unigine.com/download/

Or do you need more cpu speed!?

Asthat would be so much better, when we use that tool does it oc all the other components as well?

Hello, I was just wondering if it worked with my clevo...
    It's an M761TU model "D", C2D p8400@2,26 GHz, RAM: 4gb DDR2@800 MHz
Shall I try this util, or don't I even download it?
I had some success with OC-ing my GPU, but no significant gains in performance (gF 9300m GS 512MB)

In setfsb 2.2.134.98 i am able to use PLL CY28346ZI-2 (IBM ThinkPad T42 2373-7WG), for my Gateway PC with Celeron(R) 2.2ghz. in the autotool, it doenst have neither the compatible IBM PLL or my PLL CT283460c. Ive attempted to try other PLL's but my system locks, screen turn fuzzy and etc. Is there any for sure PLL that would be compatible for my PC in Autotool?

toolkit seemed a bit difficult for me. I have a desktop and do you mean Scheduled Tasks in System Tools Folder? If so thats probably the way ill do it. Dont know about batching and setting commands, a link or something to get more knowledge.

    Specs
    2.2ghz
    Multiplier x22

    setfsb reads 90/190 is 2200.1mhz
trying to get to 117/190 to 2793.8mhz which i am currently running

would this be the correct way to set my desktop to 2.8ghz.

    @echo off
    set incr=5
    set FSB=280
    set PLL=CY28346ZI-2

    c:\setfsb_2_2_134_98\setfsb -w1 -s%FSB% -i%incr% -cg[%PLL%]

Only concern is that stock is 90/190 and set incr=5, once is gets to 115 will it go to 120 or 117.

    Your FSB is 90mhz?

If so, it should be this:

    @echo off
    set incr=5
    set FSB=117
    set PLL=CY28346ZI-2

    c:\setfsb_2_2_134_98\setfsb -w1 -s%FSB% -i%incr% -cg[%PLL%]

That will make it go up to 115mhz. If you want 117 then you will have to set incr=1.

ok thanks but i think im done overclocking this old pc. im not sure if anyone has had sound problems when overclocking. I was noticing that my soundmax audio driver would disappear. i would try to download it from gateway.com and it wouldnt run. I did everthing possible and when i ran a scan to see what drivers i was missing, Soundmax would actuallty show as installed with no problems but i had "NO AUDIO DEVICE" in sounds and audio devices. I used system restore and my sound came back but as soon as i ran setfsb and its autotool, my computer had no sound after restarting it. Not sure if it is just a coincidence but ill see what happens without setfsb for a while. Could overclocking affect sound? I have a stock Gateway ES2 300x XP Professional.

It could affect sound if your PCI bus is locked to the FSB so when you OC the FSB your PCI bus is also overclocked.

Is there a way that it will run to Ultra Mode?
I'm aiming at 2.8Ghz for my P7450 but it ended up to max Normal FSB which gives me only 2.4Ghz

Is there a way to make it ultra so whenever I open my laptop its on 2.8Ghz

    TIA

You can manually configure registers, yes.

I can try to help you, download setfsb, select "pll diagnostics" as the PLL.
Then click on "diagnosis", then click getfsb, then take a screenshot, upload it here please.

hey guys. I'm a total noob at this. I just want to OC my cpu a bit but not too much. I ran autoconfig first and set my cpu speed and multiplier. I have a gateway FX7811 with P8400 cpu. I'm trying to get it to 2500mhz. I went to setFSB but I don't know my PPL. does any one know what FX7811 sereis PPL is!?
any other tips? I'm an absolute noob at this. So autoconfig is first, then I copied it to my start up folder and then I go to set FSB?
    is that correct?
    thx in advance,

How did you get your multiplier to 22? - Nevermind found the answer - single threaded application gets an extra clock.

    Hi,
    Need some help please.
I've followed the steps and installed the Auto SetFSB on my Asus 1005P.
I've set stock clock speed at 1667Mhz, Max multiplier at 10 and desired OC speed at 1800Mhz, using the PPL : ICS9LPR427AGLF.
    Result is PC freezing.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks.

EDIT: CPU is N450. Prior to using Auto tool, I've OC'd the PC comfortably up to 1.96Ghz where it was still stable.

If you're running a machine with the new Sandy Bridge chipset, this tool won't work. You can't adjust the FSB on these machines. You need an unlocked processor (XM model) to be able to overclock them via the multiplier.

No, you still can't. You have to have a chipset that supports it (like the HM67 in the P170- not available on the P150/P151). and it's done through the bios.

Yes, and the T5600 is not a Sandy Bridge chip. It's a much older Core 2 Duo series. (~3 generations older)

Hey guys, I got a problem with this tool! I'm using it on a Dell Precision T7400 with one CPU (X5260). I am buying two L5420 and I want to OC them, but for now I'm testing this tool with my current CPU. I can OC it to 3.8 with no problems, and run P95 for ever! The problem is when I set it up to autostart with windows, my computer crashes every single time after the windows loads. No matter if I use AutotoolOC ON.exe or just edit the properties of the setFSB icon from StartUp folder. Anyone else encountering the same problem? Thanks in advance!

...this is something that I tried before I found this tool, and still didn't work:

In the Target field it shows this:
    C:\\ftproot\\SetFSB\\setfsb.exe -w10 -s340 -cg[ICS932S421BGLF] -q

    -w10 = wait 10 seconds
-s340 = set my FSB to 340 (startup is 332)
-cg[PLL goes here] = the PLL for my board
-q = Run with no gui

It just crashes every single time! I tried to set the FSB from 150 to 360, and I get the same results. The weird thing is that it works fine to just OC manually to 360MHz FSB... giving me a 3.8GHz!

I have HGL30, I know it's pretty old laptop, but trying to get best out of it to this day and practice some overclocking. I have read a lot of threads on this matter, but didnt find any specific information on ocing this model, and if its really possible to ocing with software, I am also willing to diassemble to do proper ocing, but hopefully the software works. After doing a lot of research I've managed to get the PLL id which if for yonah model although I have merom T7200 but I'm guessing motherboard and the clock generator should be same. If you guys need I can also send you the datasheet link for it. Anyway the PLL for this Unit is SLG8LP465VTR but there is no PLL setting for it in setFSB. It would be great if anybody with broad knowledge could help me with this. I am trying to overclock cpu, ram as well as The GPU, recently I ordered 2 * 2gb 800mhz ram althought my unit is set for 667mhz. so altogether trying to test n get the best out of this old model. Please dont be shy to give me any new link to any tools that might help get best out of this Unit.

    Thanks in Advance!

Edit: BTW I got this device on 2006 after reading lot of good reviews on this site :D

The download links in the O.P. are no longer valid. Any chance of an update or a PM?
