    Unofficial driver (13.150.0.0) Please use.
Loading rate will come to boil.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This driver comes with CAPs already included and more updated than 13.5 CAP1, so no need to install any CAPs.
This is the first driver for Windows Blue (8.1 or whatever) and also for Vista, 7 and 8.

    This driver IS NOT WHQL.

That GTA 4 score is quite normal, it's just a bad port. My 680m scores similarly maxed out.

Do these new modified drivers perform better than the 13.6beta drivers? What improvements are there?

Hey bud, sorry it took so long but here are my results...

Under 'ultimate' preset, which is everything maxed (including TressFX) except for the AA which sets itself to FXAA I get:

    Min: 22.6
    Max: 40.9
    Avg: 32.1

Under the same settings, this time however with everything completely maxed including AA set at 4xSSAA I get:

    Min: 15.1
    Max: 22.6
    Avg: 19.1

Under 'ultra' preset (which I play at) I get:

    Min: 42.7
    Max: 64.2
    Avg: 52.6

    Hope this was helpful :)

Only a single graphics driver installation provides. (AMD)

So will need to be modified. ( PowerXpress and Enduro )

So, I just re installed my entire computer. I installed the 13.10 beta and the newest intel driver.
Then I fired up League of Legends to test it out.
And I must say, the results are just horrible. With everything maxed out and "stable" fps, I have around 50-60 fps! (with V-sync off).
As you see, i get around 30-40% gpu utilization.
    Go AMD go!

    wtf.png

    Edit:
Tried to install Machaters fix, caused a constant 99% GPU.
Still only get around 100 fps with everything maxed out (and with shadows low). Is this all that this GPU can do?

You need the framerate cap to "Benchmark" not "Stable". Btw you should have 80-175 fps (80 in fight and 150-175 before the minion spawn) with everything maxed, pretty much like the 680M and the 660. I have no idea what you expect.

You can also run LoL on your iGPU everything at low for 60 stable fps.

Turns out that the 13.10 driver was not for me.
Did a clean install with newest intel and 13.8 beta 2, and now I get 200 fps at the start.
So that is more like i expected, LoL is after all not a very demanding game.

    Edit:
    Weirdest thing happened:
So what I said earlier happened on a completely newly installed windows. A while after I installed another program: MSI afterburner, an with that directX 10, 11 and everything that comes along.
And now I am back to square one, is it really possible that installing DirectX 10 and 11 ruins anything for the game (LoL is directX 9).
    What a mess .

So I played a few rounds on bf 4, shangai, operatin locker and the performance on 7970m enduro system is just terrible for me. The game runs avarage 30 fps on ultra , high or medium in shanghai. Please tell me that perfromace is better on win 8, as I'm planing to reinstall just for this game. Or is there any specific driver that works the best for bf 4?? I'm currently on 13.11 beta v6 and win 7 64bit.

    Thanks..

Are you still on Beta 6? The never versions had some crash bug for BF4 under Win8 fixed. Mantle support should come in December, and it should come for the 7970m as well. Excited to see what kind of performance we can get out of the card then.

I was on beta 8, but it was crashing almost every round " bf4 stopped working". I tried beta 6, and even an older intel driver but crashes still are present. Also reinstalled dx, punkbuster but no luck.

Well, I'm also excited for mantle, hope it brings double the performance :)

Hey did they solve some problems with 8970m ? I am thinking to take it instead of geforce 770m because AMD has better performance and price is almost the same, but I do not want to face a lot of problems with AMD. Can you suggest something? I will be happy with 8970m? :)

Still a lot of troubles with AMD 7970m (from Dell) in my MSI GX660 (MSI MS-16F1), Catalyst 13.12 WHQL.
There are some games with very under-utilized GPU... With relatively simple 3D engines in games like Demonicon, Drakensang I and II etc. I get horrible fps drops (22-24) with GPU Load 30-40%.
Since my GX660 does not support Enduro from BIOS it can't even be an Enduro issue as far as I can understand.... Moreover I randomly still have black screen freezes (with sound in loop) playing games...

Ideas? Is this expensive card doomed/abandoned by AMD?

Using VBE7 vbios editor I've seen the PowerTune Power Limit (W) is 56-84. Maybe boosting this range will force the card to unleash all its power?
Is VBE7 reliable in editing 7970m vbios?

Personally, I have not faced any major problems with the 7970m(similar to the 8970m), and I got mind last year. =).

The games where I faced major problems were the type where problems existed across the board (Assasins creed 4, Watch dogs?). Far Cry 3 however, is the only game that has some issues (graphical shadow boxes) on DX11. Game runs fine on DX9.

I went for the 7970m instead of the 680m because of the price difference...and I have not been disappointed. However, it probably must be mentioned that some people have complained of a lot of problems with this card. So it all comes down to your personality. Are you the type who can afford to take a little risk (its not a big risk =D), or would you rather pay a little (a couple of $100) extra for the extra piece on mind(that is to say if it is even possible, given the nature of PC gaming =D).

My personal advice, if you can't afford the 880m, get the 7970m. That's what I would do in your position. But this is your choice, not mine...look at all the factors that concern and make the decision =).

I agree, 7970M is an awesome card, driver issues are in the past IMHO, of course there will be some games with issues, but so does Nvidia, so accept it. Right now 7970M is still competitive against 780 and 880M, and equals 680M, if not beats it in some games.

If anyone is still facing issues, try upgrading to the latest dirvers, it was a very good experience for me, i posted a step by step HERE *catalyst 14.4

Wolfenstein new order=> 50-60 fps (14.6 beta) (without shuttering)
However I have artifacts with state of decay. (waiting for non beta driver)
7970m is an amazing gpu since driver problems were fixed.
    Regrets.

I havent been around for months! So smooth my 7970M is working lately. I have installed a ton of games and have not found many that need to lower ultra settings on my card.
Anyway, i am back to ask if anyone has tried the new 14.9 catalyst, it seems to be pointed mostly on newer cards, is it any worth trying it? I have 14,4 WHQL and works like a charm.

    cheers

Did anyone manage to successfully run Path of Exile on the 7970m without any issues? i keep getting 30% utilization with latest 14.9 beta drivers, AWFUL framerates (15fps and 5 in party) while the video card is working at 20% ?! ?? i tried every driver, every combination of options, this game just won't run properly.. running out of ideas, any suggestions?

    Perhaps this will help you.
I have the same notebook, the game worked fine on 14.6 or 14.4 and I had this fix also.

i am on 14.9 beta drivers, i didn't get the "change the number of displays supported by the high performance gpu" thing, but it still works to some extent! i get now 50-60% utilization and much better framerates! the fps are not stable but i get around 30fps in solo play at max settings which is a big improvement! i will have to do more testing, how much utilization and fps are you getting in solo/party?

With 14.9whql(+enduroFIX) on max settings, utilization 40-50% and fps about 58-65.
