I would be extremely glad if we did, but would Clevo and Resellers be so quiet if that was the case? The waiting game happened with the 8700GT, it happened with the Quads and will happen with the 8800M GTX unless processes changed greatly.

But this is just guess, take note. But I have no evidence to say otherwise at the moment and we are less then a month from the speculated 19.

yeah, but remember the original specs of the taiwan m570ru? it showed 8800 GTX, and yes, i know the 8700 was originally to be named 8800 too, but it's lack of performance made the 8700.
still, already a long time 8800 rumours have been going on, and maybe everybody is silent because it performs so awesomely that nvidia wants to shock and awe everyone?

After a couple of days, Brian Law of Sagernotebook answers my question on compatibility and availability for the 8800:

"Sorry! We have no any update for this yet!"

You will not get any rumors or speculations from the Clevo distributors and vendors... especially if they do not want to have a bad reputation if the rumors turned out to be false.

    As it should be.

But that does not stop me from saying that
"I am confident that these new high-end DX10 cards will be available for the new Clevo notebooks with MXM-IV this Winter" ;)

Hi, Gophn I hope the 8800M GTX will come out before Feb 2008. If it does come out on Feb I am going to get that for my own birthday present I can't wait.

i won't be surprised if the 8800m is only as fast as the 7950gtx. basically a 256bit version of the 8700 gtx.

But even if it is the same performance as the 7950GTX, it will also offer DX10, which is why most people were waiting for it.

na it will be faster. than the 7950 gtx. it's too dated and the mem usage of the 8800 will be more efficient.

if it's only as fast as the 7950gtx then direct x10 won't mean anything as you will need to disable alot of features to achieve the playable framerate.

i know it's big news for the 8800m but something inside me keeps saying it simply won't be the big bang that people are waiting for. it won't be the performance increase compared to going from a geforce 6800 to the 7800 when those came out. if it is an increase it may be a small 10% over the 7950gtx but with the direct x10 ability.

i hope i am wrong, though. with it only being an mxm3 card with the thermal rating it's being spec'ed at there does not seem to be any strong evidence of a large-as-expected performance increase over the 7950gtx.

Hopefully it'll be more on par with the newly-released 8800 GT, which is almost as fast as the GTX, and puts the GTS to shame. The die-shrink to 65nm should make a huge difference not only in size of the card (MXM III?), but also the amount of heat it puts out -- which would certainly make it a good candidate for mobile applications.

So what kind of refresh are we talking about? Is Clevo actually going to put out some redesigned chassis or just update the motherboard revisions again? I know you probably don't know, and even if you did it would violate some NDA somewhere... :)

The new Clevo notebooks (M570RU and D900C) were made for high-end upgrades.

They are the only notebooks on the market that Nvidia allowed to use their top-secret MXM Type IV slots.

So if and when these new videocards come out, they should easily work with these notebook without an issue... if there is anything that Clevo might need to do is to update their BIOS.

no i understand they are going to be building it monday so ill ask around if they are comming out with a new one in november. everone should know about it. we are going into the 2nd week of nov. on wensday.
if they are changing cases, why not get the newest, then the last of the old model. i only heard of the release of the 8800's in a couple weeks but that will take a while for it to hit the lappies. if there changeing the case it might be for the 8800's anyone else hear of this in november???
