On my machine the difference is a gain of about 10 fps in average let's say from 30 fps to 40 fps. visually the difference is rather small and if you enable antialiasing 4x is close to nothing.

When someones gets little freezes while in a game (1sec, maybe less each) and BSOD reporting the vdriver, what is the cause of this issue? Tried Windows reinstall, nothing happened! How can I see if I get power hicups?

it means that it could´ve been overclocked too high or a gpu dying. is your laptop anmatheextreme?

yeah, mine. When I got it, i noticed it from the first time I ran nfs shift with the same configuration as before I send it. I just thought it was the OS because of the mobo and GPU replacement, so today that I found time to format HDD, I saw that it wasn't anything with the OS or driver. What else can I do?

stop pushing the card to it´s limits. try some safer clocks 583-1450-825, and install the drivers from sager website for the m570tu.

This try is with stock clocks 500/799/1375 and 195 driver. I downgraded it from about a week ago, I just wanted to see where the cards limits are!

Could be driver related. Since the card is new, there is little chance that the card itself is faulty.

i think are the drivers blacky. i had stutterings with some 19x.xx drivers. the clevo drivers were the best. i realized that when that micro stuttering happened the latency was too high. i recomend to anmatheextreme to install all the drivers from sager site. chipset, video, wifi, etc and you will notice that the stuttering is gone.

197 drivers work just fine for me. I barely use any Clevo drivers... they are mostly out-dated.

yes blacky i know they are outdated but something is causing that micro stuttering and i´m almost sure is a driver problem. anmatheextreme try the ones on sager site, test if everything is normal, then jump to the 197.16 listed on nvidia website and post your results

Sager drivers didn't work for me. I'm now trying a clear format of HDD and install it to see results. :(

No luck guys. The 187 that is in sager site isn't making any difference and with 197.16-197.44 I get BSOD every time I start the machine, when booting.
I've contacted with Sager and the problem is most likely coming through the gpu (I already knew that) so I am having an RMA right now. The question I have: If the gpu has once reached 105C, can it really be damaged, so that it causes such freezes?

@jupapri Have you got your sys back?

    @jupapri

If you can answer, can a gpu be damaged so that it causes artifacts and freezes, when it has once reached 105C?

105C is bloody hot. It is possible. It's really not designed to go that high. Perhaps some of the solder leads have been melted off due to the extreme temperature?

When they were testing this card on the old barebone with the problematic fan, it reached 105C and the failsafe mechanism turn the sys off. After the change of barebone, the same gpu was used. The max temp I reached in-game was 81C in crysis. Now that Sager emailed me, the one that tests my sys hasn't found any problem after 3 hours of stress testing. They are just waiting for it to stuck and they don't look at the artifacts it does (before I send it, a lot of objects were blinking in farcry2).

i know that the fail temp for my gtx 280m is 116°C with that temp the core would be damaged. the throttling temp for the gtx 280m is 105°C, the problem is not the core, the problem is the lead free welding that connects the core and memory to the mxm board. if sager used the same gpu with the new barebone and you got temps more than 90°C in the long term would crack the welding material because of the high thermal stress. you should´ve asked to sager to cross ship the gpu, that way you wouldn´t had to send the whole laptop back.

i hope they made a good job in my laptop but until Thursday or Friday i can´t test it.

    just wish me luck

If only I could do that! If I change the gpu myself, I will lose my warranty and pay 700€. These are a lot of money for only a gpu!
My 9800M critical temp is 90C and 105C is the failsafe. Hope for a Gpu replacement, if it stucks to the tests.
Good luck with your notebook jupapri!
