1375 wouldn't be one of the new gtx's then....(speculation of course)
-
According to the specs it should be 1250Mhz correct? So me having 1400Mhz is a good thing? Or if you think that this is strange, what do you mean with strange then?
-
because...as of right now...your the only person who has come forth with a 1400 mhz stock clock...

Here are the details for my 9800M GTX according to the latest version of GPU-Z:

Sorry about the link but apparently I cannot link to other websites because I have less than 15 posts. -
still cant make heads ot tails of that...it comes back as a bunch of text.
-
-
gotcha...didn't even notice the space..hahaha
edit: ok..you have the one with the id of 0608 @ 1 gig of ram @ 1375.... mike might be a bit upset with that...lol
mine is the 0617@ 1 gig ram @ 1250 -
I have noticed that RivaTuner shows me the wrong clock settings for my 9800M GTX. Is this a problem with the RivaTuner version 2.20?
-
-
But then again if you need a candle for the next 4 years and it is designed to last 10 years then I guess that it is fair to say that you can make it burn twice as fast and it will still last for 5 years.

Hello, Ive updated my vBios to 0617 but ive forgot to make an backup of the old one. Someone got the 0617 vBios ?
With the 0617 my HDMI wont work. ;(
But i need it..
Sry for my bad english, iam form germany -
define what you mean by it wont work.
for example:
error codes or messages
does it show under audio settings
what happens when you try to plug up your external monitor. -
Never, ever, EVER touch your vBIOS without making a backup and storing it in several locations.
0608 backup file:
www.mojaveunderground.com/backup.rom -
Thx emike for the backup.
@johnksss
i pluged up my Tv. Its a new Plasma Tv but the Notebook dont detect it.
testest some drivers but always the same.
At my desktop Pc it works fine. -
so under display properties you dont see two monitors correct?
right click on desktop then click display settings
you should see two or three monitors here
click on the second one and click "extend the desktop to this monitor"
your hdmi should kick in at this point.
if you have tried that then, i dont know what to say.... -
yes ive tested it. and thats my problem.
it looks like the hdmi dont work. Tested a lot of drivers.
nothink wored.
With my desktop pc it works fine.
Now flashing the original bios for testig. -
aight.. hope the flash works.
-
The original Vbios works for me.
But dont know why the tweaked vbios dont work
The tweaked is much faster but no hdmi -
Perhaps its because the 0617 belongs to cards designed to run in SLi when needed, and they don't include HDMI support. The 0608 is the 5796 card, which includes HDMI support. Thats all.
-
hummmm, interesting....
only one thing...my hdmi to dvi works.... -
I have a 0617 card and my notebook supports HDMI or what do you mean exactly?
Edit:
I stand correct I have a 0608 according to GPU-Z -
I can't open the BIOS of my 9800M GTX in NiBiTor v4.6, it says:
---------------------------
Error:
---------------------------
Cant start driver: 1275
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------
So far looking around on the internet hasn't given me a solution. This worked fine 2 days ago, in the meanwhile all I did was reinstall Windows Vista and all the drivers... -
how did you obtain your 9800m gtx bios to begin with?
-
2 days ago I was able to create a backup of my BIOS using GPU-Z (I believe). Today I reinstalled Windows Vista and when I run NiBiTor now to read my BIOS it gives me this error message. I can even open when backed up BIOS and it reads the clock rates correctly.
-
is that the 64 bit version of nibtor?
-
In the downloaded package there were 3 files: nibitor.exe, nibitor64.sys and nibitor.sys.
-
sounds like 64 bit to me...
have tried booting in safe mode..just for kicks....to see if it would read there? -
I will try that but for what it is worth I remember that after reading my BIOS I had to specify which manufacturer and stuff from a list and add a description.
-
whoa! big negative there. when doing that...you changed the device id string....
-
To be clear about this I did not reflash my BIOS or anything I just read out my BIOS with NiBiTor.
-
you saved that bios with it saying in the header..."nivida" when it should have been left "vender" empty... correct?
-
GPU-Z automatically set the vendor to NVidia but I don't see how this relates to my current problem as I am trying to read the BIOS from the graphics card. I just want to say again that I can successfully open my saved BIOS in NiBiTor but that I cannot longer use NiBiTor to read the BIOS from my device.
When I run Windows in safe mode and then try to read the bios from my device using NiBiTor I get this time the same error but with error code 1084. -
2: you don't need to read your bios anymore if you already have a valid copy of it.
3: to get another valid copy of your vbios, do it through dos using the nvflash backup method. this ensures a valid copy. then store it 3 places to be safe.
4: when using nibotor to read a rom/bin file some of the 9800 it will not read it correctly to begin with. in your case, you may be missing some microsoft component or update or .net or a host of other things that could be missing or wrong. could be something simple as enabling a driver. not for sure. all we can do is try to "help" get you try to get an answer. trying to recreate your problem now using 64 bit....
now i tried to read into nibtor on two machines... my desktop read the gtx 280 strings while my laptop np9262 did not read the 9800m gtx strings at all (0617)
edit: i get the exact same error as you. "can't start driver: 1275"
edit: ok, i just got through searching the owner of the program and he recommends using gpuz 3.0 to read your bios, then use nibitor 4.6 to open it and make changes. under 64 bit vista. i couldn't really find anyone who actually made it fully work under 64 bit vista. sorry. -
Is there a way to increase the volt for the graphics card. Because I truly believe that my graphics card is undervolted because of many problems I have with games like Enemy Territory. In NiBiTor I can only see the maximum of 1.3v.
-
that would be 1.03. and the only way would be to flash the 0617 bios and that would give you 1.05. (although it's speculation as to if you can go higher using the 0617 bios)
and define problems with ET. you can only get so much performance from mobile cards and when using performance settings..you take away from the quality the card puts out. and some times it's also the windows platform you run under....
edit: what is your 3dmark06 score? -
The problem I have is that with unlocked FPS I get a steady FPS that is between 120 and 200 and for some reason every few seconds it drops to below 30. Even when I am in the Limbo menu every few seconds it drops below 30 FPS. I have tried running the game at 640x480 with every setting set to low and disabling shadows and all. I get a very high FPS but it still drops below 30 making the game impossible for me to play.
I am referring to the game ETQW (Enemy Territory: Quake Wars).
Where can I find this 0617 BIOS and a tutorial that shows me how to flash the bios? I tried a google search but I get so many non related stuff back. -
emike has one in this thread if im not mistaken along with the 0617 ready to go.
-
I found the BIOS and I flashed my graphics card. I had to go back to the old BIOS because with the 0617 BIOS my system freezes. Anyway my problem with the game ETQW where my FPS drops below 20 was still not fixed. What I am going to try next is to modify the clockrates of emike's 0617 BIOS to match my stock clock rates and hopefully the combination of lower clockrates with a higher voltage will fix my problem.
Edit:
I cannot open the 0617 BIOS in NiBiTor 4.6. Any suggestions on how to modify this BIOS?
Edit 2:
I have uploaded a video on YouTube that I record with my digital camera that clearly shows my FPS drops:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ywwEDEFbOFM
In the upper right corner you can see my Frames Per Seconds. -
i dont think mikes 0617 bios is stock
-
No I know, I mean that I am going to modify the clock rates in his BIOS to match the clock rates of my original 0608 BIOS.
I was able to open the 0617 BIOS in NiBiTor by changing the device ID first, saving the file and reopening it. I am going to give it another try.
In the meanwhile did someone take the time to watch the video I posted on youtube? Any ideas on what might be causing this?
I have even tried with ridiculous low clock rates for my graphics card but that did not make any difference. Maybe it is my RAM or my CPU? But I wouldn't know how to pinpoint the problem. I am learning a lot these last couple of days -
Holy cr*p! I guess that I did something wrong because now on my notebook I just get a black screen
I am trying to blind recover my backup BIOS now. Is there a better way to do this?
-
Lucky me I was able to reflash it with my original BIOS using a boot CD that would automatically run the nvflash command with the correct parameters. So the only thing I had to do was insert this boot CD and let it flash automatically. Only thing I had to do was press "y" twice
For a moment I thought I was going to get a cardiac arrest -
been there...done that..... a few times...
-
Yup. Happens to me all the time. You likely forgot to set the device ID back from 0608 to 0617. That causes black screen. Your system freezes a lot, numble. Where did you pick up that beast?
-
Is from a Dutch company called XXODD (see http://www.xxodd.nl). I bought this online. My previous laptop is a M570A and I was happy with it. Every 2 years I buy a new laptop. I come from Dell and I pretty much like these clevo-based notebooks.
-
-
Nah it also happens when I don't get shot. I even get FPS drops when I am in spectator mode and in the limbo menu. I think that it is a combination of the game engine and my system because I can play FIFA09 at 1920x1200 and that runs like a charm.
