i have a ZM-NC2000 what kind of oc do u guys suggest?
-
As high as it freaking goes xD, that's an awesome cooler.
Download ATI tool, run the GPU artifact tester after every overclock. Raise your values slowly each time (25mhz at first, 10mhz later on), until you start getting artifacts. When you get artifacts, push it back once so you stop getting them, flash the card with those settings, and you're done. -
how do i set up a profile. there isnt one under the profile ext that he mentioned before
-
-
o ok well i installled ntune, but every time i open it my system crashes. could this be because of the drivers i have installed? im switching drivers right now and am going to retry.
-
did you download 6.02 from nvidia??
http://www.nvidia.com/object/nvidia_system_tools_6.02.html -
no i downloaded 5.05 from nvidia. so i have the wrong one?
-
-
o ok well i downloaded and am installing it now then i will try it out thanks.
-
sure thing! ill be right hear waiting for the results...*LOL* i need this answer just as much as you do...*LOL*
-
ok when i go to the profile page i get two files sysdflt.NSU and userdflt.NSU which should i edit? andwhen i edit them do i have to mess with the volts? or just these settigns GPUCOREMHZ0=500
GPUMEMMHZ0=799
GPUSHADERMHZ0=1250? -
just change the the clocks for userdflt.nsu then click save file. if file saves, then double click the file to activate it.
edit: then use gpu-z to see if the new clocks took. -
If you're not volt modding, make sure you don't use my settings.
My voltage is 1.05v, and anything under that is unstable with my clocks. -
don't be trying clyzm's clocks...just do the little clocks
-
i tryed but nothing happened.
-
what we're the clocks you tried?
and when you say nothing happend...what? no popup stating your clocks wont work or they are set wrong or etc etc.... -
ok i tryed 510/809/1250. i know it maybe crappy but wasnt for sure. then i saved it clicked on it and a system message came up and said profile was loaded currectly. then when i go to nvidia control anel it shows my default speeds as if nothing was changed.
-
Try testing it with GPU-Z to show clock speeds instead.
-
ok one sec ill download it and install
-
yeha it says default clock and GPU clock are the same.
-
ooooh, getting antsy. im really hoping this works...saves me allot of bios flashing later.
edit: darn..... so the shaders didn't even change either?
what happen when you tried to move the sliders? -
it isnt working though? im kind of annoyed because im changing the profile and its not working.
-
any suggestions on wha i should do?
-
and which driver are you using?
-
GPU-Z says im using 7.15.11.7602 forceware 176.02. think i should update drivers?
-
yes. because drivers can make a big difference in getting the software to work.
me personally...i would mod my own drivers from nvidia's driver download section. but in your case...just download the modded inf. and use something like 177.92. then try it again -
can i use 177.92 with doxes modded inf
-
sure, i dont see why not.
-
ok ill try it. one sec im installing the driver
-
its still not working with the new driver.
-
dang....looks like it's only bios over clocking then.....
-
dang it i was hoping for this. since i dont know a oot about bio overclocking. well im stuck now
-
no, not really stuck.... you just dont have that nice soft cushin to fall back on....
try just changing like just the core one time then the memory and then the shaders each time checking to see if anything stays.... -
how do i check without software ocing then. do i need to flash bios everytime? that seams like it would take forever.
-
you would have to get one of these other guys to go in depth on bios oc'ing. they have a different method than i did when doing mine on an embedded gpu.
-
hmm ok well thanks for the help. wished it would have worked.
-
no problem. and yea...so do i.
-
Ran AtiTool for a while to determine my overclock's stability and monitored system temps; results follow:
-
how did u overclock it?
-
Kevin Jack, 1.05v right?
Mine seemed to be unstable at those clocks, but then again, your temps seem better at those clocks. Mine tended to go as high as 85 degrees.
I'll try again when I get my hands on a zalman NC1000 -
Yep, I'm 1.05v Clyzm.
-
I have been following this thread and I am new on these forums. I have a np9262, 4gigs ram, SLI 9800M GT and Q9550 cpu. I am familiar with overclocking and I ocd my np9262 following the information i found on this thread, I seem to be running most applications fine with 610/945/1525 (on both cards) and my temperatures are never over 65 according to GPUZ but problem is I am unable to run 3dmark 2006. it starts fine but within a minute of launching it crashes and gives me "present failed: device lost (d3derr_devicelost)" any advice is appreciated, I am running 1.05V as well. Problem goes away when I revert my bios back to the default and I am able to run 3dmark 2006 and score 13800 w/o any OC.
-
try lowering your clocks just a tad bit and see what that brings back. 600/920/1500
-
yeah I just tried that and got the same results, only difference was that i was able to run 3dmark about 30 seconds more before the crash, weird thing is i can turn off SLI and run it just fine at any OC setting but this happens when SLI is enabled. Right after the crash occurs my GPU clocks reset back down to 200/100 and i am unable to run any 3d applications during this time. I actually have to get the gpu going by turning SLI on and off to get normal clocks back. The GPU that resets clocks is my main one, nothing happens to the secondary one. I tried only OCing my main card and leaving the secondary as it is but that didnt help either.
-
you may have to cycle through a varity of drivers first...
-
got my new lappy today, so i will be seriously testing it over the next few days. starting with the factory driver (one from cd) showing the factory clocks. doing both single and dual gpu test.
-
yeah i will try with different drivers when i get home later, so far i have only tested it with sager drivers and 178.13 with dox's customised inf for clevo, let me know how you do. our systems are 100% identical other than the HD.
-
have you tried overclocking at all yet?
-
nope, not yet... but will be getting to that part very soon.
