Yes I would check out those CPU temps too.
Looks like these drivers focus primarily on the switching handling of the drivers, probably the cause of your BSOD was the card being deactivated but not disengaged from the OS properly and confusing windows.
Now it happens quicker and more reliably (the GX60 power light changes colour when the 7970M is active which makes it really easy to keep track of). When booting into windows is when the card is de-activated for the first time.

Sorry didn't know how to take screenshot with Afterburner monitoring graph shown. Used junk phone camera.
-
Utilization obviously isn't at 99%..I can actually enjoy the game without any noticeable 'lag' now, but still I think we can agree that Enduro hasn't been completely fixed yet. -
Yeah the physx is at high... That's why. Good grief saying it's enduro when you're trying to run hardware physx so now trying to do that on single threaded x87 on CPU... Which bottlenecks the AMD, uh huh...

You can hit the print screen button to take a screenshot of your screen which will be copied to your clip board and you can then paste it into a program like paint.

Anybody having problem with BF3. it stuck at at initialization . I reinstalled browser plug-in but it did not work. So I changed bf3 to powersaving mode and it worked. It seems these drivers messed up bf3 or it just me ?
Edit 1 : Nothing works with this driver of my games. It seems this driver is an alpha driver probably a leaked driver . I will try beta 7 .
Note : I did fresh installation + cleaning remaining of left over for driver + I am using latest intel driver. -

Same here. I installed the driver and it worked for games, and then today every game would start up with just a black screen. I tried going back to 12.11 but everything started f'ing up and I had to system restore back to before I installed the 7970M performance driver.
I am going to nickname the new driver 12.11p (p for performance).
Also, when I first installed 12.11p, I ended up with a completed installation with errors, but the report didn't show which errors occurred. -
-
I normally just uninstall all graphics drivers and the install the new ones, but this time I decided to try "Driver Fusion" for the first time and do a "clean Install", I can't say if this driver is bad or driver fusion messed up all, driver fusion says that I have to buy premium in order to delete registry keys that are being used by the system, I'm not buying it, not until I know that it didn't f*cked up my system, I'm going to try the new driver in a fresh windows install and see what happens. -
Has anyone gotten After burner to overclock? everything works fine but cant over clock, but then setting "unoffical over clock" to 1 (to oc) it doesnt show clock speeds or anything and nothing works but graphs.
-
1. un-install ccc manager from progam and feature , and un-intall intel hd graphics drivers
2. restart
3. go to safe mode , launch driver fusion choose booth intel ( not intel chipsets ) and amd driver . clean then restart.
4. launch ati man uninstaller . Most time it will tell me that no extra leftover files found. also use ccleaner
5. install intel driver , then restart.
6. install amd driver , then restart and start playing
Now when I luanched bf3, sleeping dogs, saint row 3, they all did not launched.
Further more , Now I tried beta 7 drivers with same installation method as the above and it worked , launching all my games. However, there was error occurred . I will explain it. After install intel driver and restarting my laptop, I noticed that my windows' aero wast enabled and went and installed beta 7 driver. After I finished installing beta 7 , I restarted my laptop , and I tried to launch the ccc ( right click ) and it displayed " amd catalyst did not detect amd gpu" I was surprised. Then it hit me that I recollected that my windows aero was not enabled after installing intel driver .So , I suspected that Intel driver was maybe the culprit . So I decided to add extra steps to above my method . I went to device manager and I unistalled intel driver + I ticked delete software blah blash . Then I unistalled the rest intel graphics from control panel . When my laptop restarted , windows displayed to me it has " found new driver intel graphics hd 4000 ". I let it install and then I installed Intel graphics driver that I downloaded from intel . Finally , I installed bet 7 and my system is working . I suspect ihat intel hd graphics was causing problem . I will do the same steps tomorrow for amd enudro driver and investigate more.
P.s sorry for long reply -
Hi all!
I hope this helps somebody. Here is how I got this to work without BSOD's (well only tried to reboot it 3 or 4 times while plugged in)
1. Uninstall driver from device manager
2. reboot
3. Install new driver and leaving everything checked.
4. reboot.
5. run guildwars 2. My original setting was everything was on medium and the last option post filter thing I thin was set to LOW. Getting 40-60 fps in WvW. Now getting 50-80 fps with same settings.
I dont really mind the graphics. I was after the fps because if animations lag, then I would die instantly. I need to see what my target was doing. Heavy clashes I stayed above 30fps. This was us ganging up on Keep Lord.
Hope this helps. I have to try it out with Deus Ex when I get home. Still currently at work.
Edit 1: after a few reboots, games used to work fine. now getting just a black screen. had to do system restore because it f*ed things up. -

wow I just tried this driver and got back the Switchable Graphic Menu at last since I used 12.11. It also has a new interface, cool

In my experience these drivers are a lot more stable than previous, no BSODs so far, i will stop using the unplug restart method to check further. I have not tested a lot, but 3dmark11 and 3dmark06 are almost equal to other 12.11 betas (6610 and 22570). Havent tried many games, BL2 runs smooth with physix low as usual, mayb higher FPS? havent benchmarked, now i am playing way different maps anyway.
so far so good IMHO.

I found the source to the black screen issue: Intel display drivers. I tried uninstalling the Intel HD Graphics driver through control panel just for the hell of it, and restarted. That weird MMLoadDrvPXDiscrete.exe process using 13% CPU was gone. Strange. I decided to download the latest Intel HD Graphics driver ( http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Det...rs+with+Intel®+HD+Graphics+4000/2500&lang=eng) install it. I restarted, and had no black screens on games anymore, and with multiple restarts still solid results.
Looks like we have a winner combo: 12.11P + latest Intel 15.28.8.64.2875

hmm, I just got a score around 6200 in 3DMark11, is that normal? I've got an P150EM - 3610M - 7970M and 4GB RAM.
-
As for BSODs they are completely gone so far, even plugged in. I must say i did what tantra says, installed newest intel drivers after 12.11, I always do that anyway.
I unistalled via amd intall manager, and then reinstalled, got an error, but no clue what it was, i think its that the manager was already installed, no biggie. -
i got zero fps gain in guild wars 2 which is a dx9 game , extremely dissapointed
-
No games will start. All I get is a black screen. -
men of war game also dx9 zero improvment.
-
I'm running a NP9150 with windows 7 and the 7970M and DX11 seems to work well. The windows experience for graphics jumped from 7.3 to 7.6. However, I'm not convinced that DX9 has been fixed because playing Assassin's Creed II results in just 60fps, occasionally dropping to 40, and the whole time my gpu utilization is at 50-60%.

I tried some memory oc with 12.11 performance driver and 3dMark11.. stock Samsung ram 2x4GB 1600 11.11.11.28 -> 1867 10.10.10.27 mem. 3720QM XTU 38.38.39.40. 7970M 1028 core 1550 Vmem. Win 7 SP1. (stock clevo AMD vga + 12.11p "dirty")
And everything stock voltage: CPU temp max 79 C, GPU temp max 77 (Both, of course, foil modded): AMD Radeon HD 7970M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-3720QM Processor,CLEVO P170EM score: P7944 3DMarks
Physics score seems to be increased with memory OC.. -
Nice score! You get a 79C max CPU temp in 3DMark11 or is that from another benchmark program?
And to those who aren't seeing performance improvements, make sure to check device manager for the driver date (it should be November 6th). It is possible that if you installed over your past AMD driver installation with 12.11P instead of uninstalling/reinstalling, you ended up with the new components EXCEPT for the new driver, probably because the 12.11P driver isn't considered "new" to the AMD installer which will see your current 12.11 beta driver as the latest. -

Room temperature was about 24C.
ThrottleStop 5.0 T|I setting turbo clock. -
7970m and 77C.
-
Just upgraded and performance is much better. Was seeing 70-90 FPS on BF3.
-
I asked for clocks but... Man... Mine runs at 87, max 90 when playing BF3. It's cool in both meanings.
How did you do? Other than aluminum foil.
I foiled radiator and put some paper for extra pressure. Furmark used to max 88C but now it's repeating 95C-fan%100-92C cycle.
Edit: I noticed that my GPU fan runs at idle (requires 45C, it used to idle at 41) for 10 secs, stops for another 10sec, runs again. Maybe my room temp is high. But I don't think that's the real problem. I ran Furmark at outside (which means intake temp is 6-7C) but it was still high, 85C. Maybe I should reapply TIM. First time I ran Furmark it was over 105C, "still rising". I modded it and managed to drop it to 88 Furmark, below 80 at BF3 (enduro had issues). I wasn't able to check temps until today thanks to beta drivers.
And; how can I change fan profile? CPU fan is small but GPU fan is very annoying. Both starts at 45C and I think this is pretty low. It's going to be very noisy summer.
Well... This has become off-topic after edit. -

There is no way to edit clevo fan profiles at this time.

from what drivers you came? -

Oh well... I didn't see that.
I know it's hot I'll buy a thermal paste and modify that heatsink with my hands. it's very unstable. I can make it dance 70-105 at only 1 sec if I press right spots. -
I saw those FPS values on Seine Crossing, 32 player. On larger maps like Noshahr and Firestorm on 48 players I was seeing 60-80 FPS average, some dips to maybe 55 FPS, but that was very limited. My GPU is still at about 75% utilization according to afterburner. -
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
That does sound like the heatsink may be faulty there.
-
What about Linux users?

Not sure if this has been missed by people or not, but the Enduro driver download page has been updated.
Before it said Nov 6 was the last date, now it says Nov 14th.
Downloading driver to see if theres any differences. -
-
So for most games I'm still a little lost, are people recommending the performance driver for gaming or is the beta 8 an improvement?

Enduro drivers are the best for those using enduro, performance drivers otherwise.
